Any idea when the gallery will be back up?

maybe once they get the store running ay full speed again. still seems to be lots of issues. so i doubt the gallery is a priority until the store is at 100%. store is still unuseable on my mobile device and its still slower than before on my desktop. hopefully they get that fixed soon.

I miss the gallery. It was often a tipping point when I wasn't sure whether I wanted the product or the promo pictures weren't enough for me. Now, when I shop for items released since April, I really, really miss it, and at this point, I wonder if it's coming back at all.
Here's hoping there's going to be a big opening during Daz anniversary month.

I miss it too.  I too hope it will return shortly.

  • Likewise, it is a source of inspiration showcasing artistic skills.

The gallery is a free advertising tool for Daz 3D. Artists show what they accomplished with what they had purchased. This may also inspire other artist to buy. I find it difficult to comprehend why Daz 3D ignores the potential of the gallery.

Indifference, incompetence, insolvency, or it's intentional.

I would love to see its return as well. I hope they're soon able to dedicate the resources to getting it up.

    Yeah, it's a bit depressing.

Shortly before the gallery ended up getting locked up, I'd been working behind the scenes with Ruris on this product - https://www.daz3d.com/elysion-grace-suit-for-genesis-9-and-8-female-with-centaur-variants - he'd originally just made it for G9, but I had a workflow I wanted to test, and volunteered to offer a conversion to G8F. (The conversions to centaurs were not originally planned - that happened later on)

I wasn't getting anything for it other than the opportunity to test my methods, but I at least thought I'd have the chance to see what people might have done with the product....

.... but nada. If anyone's used it on the forums, they haven't mentioned it by name, and with gallery uploads suspended by the time it came out, there was no chance for anyone to upload and tag anything there.

It probably didn't help that Daz mucked up the release (the e-mail sent out that day showed products from a couple of days before, rather than the new release), but with whatever initiial release enthusiasm there might have been gone,I think I've concluded my chances of actually seeing it be used are now pretty slim.

Your product link doesn't work. It probably has extra characters, because it is embedded in the line of text.
  • More than five months since the gallery has been shut down, now. It's stunning to me that it's been left broken for so long, because it really is/was how I could check out which products were cooler in actual use than they appeared to be on their product pages, and see how other artists achieved effects I'm trying to figure out (assuming, of course, that the artists linked to the products they used). Like Joanna, I did a lot of my shopping (and wish-listing) via those links. I can't imagine how much more frustrating it is for creators like Matt who no longer get to see their designs being used in the "wild." Does anyone know why image-posting and commenting was locked at all? It didn't seem like the old system was buggy.

I went there today, hoping that maybe there would be signs of life. Or signs of when life might resume. Nothing. sad

absolut! For me it's a reason not to buy and not to render at all. some kind of boring .... mah...

Fixed, hopefully, but here it is again:

    https://www.daz3d.com/elysion-grace-suit-for-genesis-9-and-8-female-with-centaur-variants

Even if anyone doesn't do a dang thing with the centaur stuff, I tried to make sure that the G8 version wasn't an after-thought conversion and would be worth people using; every G8F and G8.1F core character is supported (as well as those G7 ones that got a port), as are all the major shapes in Breast Control and Breast Utilties (as the chest area has a lot of complicated topology liable to get distorted by auto-follow), and a fair bit else.

But alas... yeah, I just haven't had any chance to see what people are doing with it in the wild, because my chances of actually finding any renders anyone has done with it are pretty dismal.

I don't even use G8/.1, or centaurs, and I applaud your efforts to make it enjoyable for everyone. (Although I almost want to get the set and a centaur and make a render just so you get to see ONE, at least, even if it's totally not my style.)

Well, the centaur stuff wasn't the original point - the original premise was that I'd be testing a workflow for setting up/converting clothing. It gave me an outfit to work on where I wasn't, like with my own efforts, constantly getting stuck in overthinking things and doing revisions to the topology, and it gave an opportunity for Ruris to get feedback on whether G8F support was still worth anything. (Although that rather got messed up by the whole thing with Daz sending out the wrong sales e-mail, which did not help with getting useful feedback).

The centaur pieces came later, when Ruris DMed me a picture of some anime centaur armour with a comment about inspiration for a possible future project, and I said something along the lines of "Honestly, this one's already pretty well suited to a conversion, we might as well try that first". It was definitely into gimmick territory, but I was probably going to do much of it anyway for my own purposes, so doing it properly meant that I could learn a few things and maybe someone else could mess around with it too.

But indeed, I've not had any chance to see if anyone has done anything with it. Which is probably partially an underwhelming launch (I had optimism when it became clear it was coming out a day after a new centaur core bundle, indeed with a lot of other armour, so maybe people would be in the mood for that, but then the advertising fell kind of flat), but the lack of gallery certainly didn't help.

I think the gallery should have a "mature" button. It is ridiculous to censor content, at least the way it is done. You could post a pic of a murder but not of a boob? I would stay clear of politics, however.
