Is it safe to uninstall DAZ 6?

Will deleting DAZ 6 mess up my installed version of DAZ 4.24?

I just installed the GEN8 and GEN9 updates. Now they don't even work at all, along with so many other things.

I have a working version of DAZ 4. When I downloaded v6, I've had nothing but catastrophic issues. Can't find its own content, and if it does, there is a long list of missing assets. In the SURFACES TAB, the cutout opacity doesn't work unless you zoom in or out. Most mapped products all load just the skin, no eyes, no shape. All my custom work, mapped through CONTENT DIRECTORY MANAGER, fails to load at all. 

I've uninstalled and installed products over 20 times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If it does work, it will stop for some reason.

But I need to step away from this software and any new updates. This happens with no other software I own—just DAZ.

    The only potential issue would be  that DS 6 might be the default for opening .duf scene files and Daz Scrupt fiules, but that is easy enough to fix (right-click on a file of the relevant type>OPen With, select DS 4, and check the option for always using that)

    However, most of your issues sound like diffrences in the content directories (or the order in which they are listed) or using a different database so that Connect instals are not found even if the path to the Connect directory is set correctly.

    Uninstalling DS6 in DIM won't mess up DS 4.24 as DS 6 has its own application folder ~~

    If you have the very same configuration in CDM but DS 4.24 works, DS 6 doesn't, that seems weird... but I have to say DS 6 Mac version has a better UI than Win version.

    It was deleted without issue. About the only thing that worked properly.
