Brown-Skinned Black G9 Male? SOLVED

99 G9 Core Figures in, but all the black male skins are dark. I need a brown male skin the shade of Silas 8. I'd like it to be with G9 quality, though I'm probably going to use G8 as the base (Thanks! Cayman Studios). Cafe au lait (Michael 9), caramel (Alawa 8), mocha (Silas 8), chocolate (Darius 8), dark chocolate (all current G9 Core Figure black males). Here's Silas 8 next to Lawrence 9:

    @xyer0 I've had pretty good success with reducing the gamma of the translucency textures of one of the darker gents. Certainly with Xola 9 - I'm away from my PC until tomorrow but will post some examples in the morning. I think the main thing to be mindful of is that palms, soles of feet, fingernails and lips are usually much lighter, so repurposing an existing texture may need additional work for authenticity.

    Thanks, @Silas3D, I will try that (reducing gamma on translucency maps). Reducing translucency levels didn't achieve my goal. I expect that I will need to scavenge maps from other characters. Xola 9 is the lightest of the bunch; so, I will start with him.

    @xyer0 I have one PA characters, some DO characters - one male and three female but who all have male morphs included. But you are correct I also looked at my PA characters and I have very few brown skinned male characters that are not deep brown. Even the brown skin tone provided in the Genesis Essentials pack is a darker tone. Genesis 8 was more versatile in this area.

    As a hobbyist who does this stuff just for fun, I generally don’t like to recommend paid products if I have a way to get a desired result without a paid product.  But … sometimes a paid product may be the way to go either to avoid frustration or unduly complex or long workarounds.  Skin is one of the areas where I reached the conclusion that a paid product was worth it and so bought  Ultimate PBRSkin Manager (https://www.daz3d.com/ultimate-pbrskin-manager) in 2022.  It’s currently on sale (which is the only way that I buy products).

    Thank you, Ms. Mary, I have them all, but I COMPLETELY OVERLOOKED Kayla 9! Thank you so much! I can make that work I'm sure. I'll just add some stubble, and I should be fine.

    Thank you, @jjoyner! That's a good idea that I'd already tried. I couldn't get the color to look natural (probably because I was working from dark to lighter), but I usually have a hard time with V3Digitimes scripts because she's definitely a mathematical mind, while I'm more verbal.

    I also hope Daz will get around to giving us a brown-skinned male Core Figure, what with fortnightly releases.

    Thanks so much! It's a little too perfect for what I'm doing with this character, but I like that distinctive Twizted Metal gloss for idealized characters.
