55% may have been a better deal when the regular prices were lower.
I often think the Sale Meister is not considering the majority of us are Indie hobbyists... not professionals.
A $10 or $15 item may seem cheap, but you can eat 3 mieals at many fast food for that.
A $40 item or $25 content is really too much expsnse for non-professionals.
All the price increases do is encourage users to go outside Daz and buy applications that enable self creation of content.
Daz needs to awaken to what is going on... Video and animated productions have large number of scenes.
There is no way Indie producers can afford the price of alot of daz content for animated and video productions.
Maybe this isn't Daz setting the price, but the artists
It really doesn't matter, because the buyer either buys or doesn't at whatever price affordable for his/her need.
A retailer in my area had a black friday sale and it made sense. The had 55 inch TV for $149 and people were in line outside the store the night before to get into the store first in the morning for the sale.
All we have here is More of the same and everyone that frequents the Daz shop knows that 55% is no discount.
We see 60% and greater discounts all the time in the shop. What does daz think we are, stupid ?
A sale should be a sale, and not more of the same.
Now this is a sale - http://www.reallusion.com/ContentStore/promo/2015_Black_Friday/default.aspx
You cannot use the Reallusion content in Daz3d applications without an expensive 3dxchange pipeline program.
I am not promoting Reallusion products, I used this as example becaouse the content will not seamlessly export to any daz application.
Daz have hammered us into the ground on V7 characters for over a month, and the buy this to get this bit persists to annoy many of us.
We really aren't stupid, we can add and subtract.
I do like daz3d content for the quality of most items for what the comment is worth.
As much as I can see how people could interperate Black Friday like this, and wish this was the meaning....
Black Friday is named for the shopping chaos that happens... Every year people are killed by Black Friday Shoppers fighting over some stupid bit of worthless consumer junk, it is so sad. It is like all sense of human decency, politeness, caring, or concern just go out the window. I currently live a mile away from a outlet mall, On Wedsnesday, I make sure I have everything I need to get thought the weekend, and I don't leave the house until Sunday or Monday, Unless absolutely necessary... it's just not worth it... Christmas brings out the worst in people, and Black Friday is the worst of the worst...
All in all, having worked several retail jobs during the Christmas season, it makes me real sad.... Nothing says "Joy to the World" and "Good will to all" like Holiday shoppers....
The thing about not shopping on Black Friday... generally, the horror stories are places you shouldn't be shopping at ANYWAY, because Black Friday is hardly the only time of year the company is monstrous toward their employees (like Walmart).
If you feel bad about going there on Black Friday... you are overlooking the rest of the year.
On the flip side, places that actually give out holiday overtime pay for days like this and treat their employees well? Cool!
(Personally, I hate crowds, so I avoid Black Friday and other madhouses)
Black Friday is one thing...have we forgotten about Cyber Monday? Black Friday used to be reserved for those going out shopping while those of us who preferred to shop online got our day the following Monday. So, DAZ might have an even bigger sale coming up on Monday and we spent all our money on Black Friday :)
Well pretty much every non-new release PA and Daz original item will have been on sale for 55% off by then, so unless they want a million refund/store credit requests to the new sale values, the current sale items won't go back up for cheaper. If they put new releases up on mega sale for Monday, then yeah, time for me to file for bankruptcy.
LOL . . oh man . . go figure . . my wish list falls in that 1%
A couple of years ago, I saw an article that traced the history of "Black Friday". It was first used by police who had to direct traffic at shopping malls. Then it spread to the retail workers who had to face the crowds. Then the general public started to hear the term, and someone's PR firm came up with the "in the black" explanation so they didn't have to admit it was a negative expression.
