Is that it for Black Friday

not a item in my wish list, been waiting since the end of the year sale for this day to get what I could not earlier.  I feel cheated

so the % off is less then last years, that just a minor set back, but not one single item on my wish list is on sale, never are, except on Black Friday and end of the year sale,  11 months of waiting,  for what . . a big disappointment

makes me wish I was suicidal

Well the PA flash sales are supposed to rotate so maybe something on your wish list will show up later in the day.

But, I don't understand why you had 11 months of waiting when we had the big PA sale in September and just finished the PC+ sale a week or two ago. Plus virtually everything was on sale a couple of days during the March Madness sale. Those 3 sales (PC+ Anniversary, PA Festival, and March Madnsess) seem to DAZ3D's biggest sale days - Not Good Friday or End of Year.

    that doesn't help

yes many sales, but none of what I have on my wish list, As I Stated, these items seem to only go on sale on Black Friday or the end of the year sales. If I could afford to purchase on impulse on any sale then there are a ton of merchandise I would had bought, wish I could afford it all, sale or no sale

and limited funds  (if any) for nonessentials means I need to wait for the big sales.

"The wait" . .  I did not have the funds when the last time there was a sale on the items I wanted

yes I forgot they also happen on March Madness, but again no funds even on that sale and the % off was less then.

does this make it easier for you to understand ?

when your disable and unable to work your stuck on a fixed amount, and nothing extra for nonessentials

Maybe they rotate at the same speed the earth goes round the sun, and we'll see something new there next Black Friday!

Yep, and the last new ones to come up were after 2am, ahhhh... :D Tonight is going to be a long night, too. :)

  • My problem is the vendors they have on sale right now are pretty much the ones I have bought everything from already.  For example, when you bring them up with Items you own hidden, they give you the ones you haven't bought, and total items.  Mine go:

    Zev0 13 of 56 items
Stone Mason 54 of 146 items
    Ironman13   52 of 110 items

So I have bought between 50%-75% of the items already.  Not that I'm complaining, I way oversepent on the last two sales, I can use a break.  We've had two straight sales where pretty much every PA was at least 50% off.

Not even a special "pricing" on gift cards and the flash sales are missing.  I too am quite disappointed.

Since gen 3 was released I'm really not too interested in older stuff. I have most of what I need. A gift card or percentage off purchase of choice would be helpful.

  • Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,095

Serene: I have the opposite problem. ;) Sales with 'buy one of these new G3 things and get a discount on...' ... yeah, I don't WANT any G3 thing. At all. meh.

(It's not always a problem, because some of the new stuff isn't figure-specific)

What I find funny is that Dreamlight is on sale at 55% off, but 3 days ago Dreamlight was onsale for 85% off... Odds are if I didn't buy it at 85% off, I'm not going to buy it for 55%....

On the whole, it seems Daz is toning down some of the "Over the Top" sales... Even The PA sale, with the exceptions of the discounts on new releases, never really got more than the ordinary 60% off... I think Daz is starting to learn that when you do a predictable "give me Everything for nothing" type sales, people wait for those sales... 60% off is about the base minimum I buy things on sale for, and I try to wait for 75-80% sales whenever possible... but any sales over 60% are becomming much more rare than they were even 6 months ago...

I grabbed two Stonemason items that are normally beyond my budget so I'm pretty happy. (Streets of London and Enchanted Forest!)

Now I'm eyeing the Dynamic Clothing plugin but I have a feeling that rarely, if ever goes on sale.

Umm, What Dynamic clothing plugin?  You do know Daz 4.8 has dynamic clothing built in right? or is this something else?

I believe the one that comes with DAZ Studio Pro is the basic version.

The plugin sold in the store expands the functions basic plugin included in DS, adding more parameters and things like wind sources

  • I am in the UK and have seen a few rotations, maybe a caching issue on the device or ISP? Just a suggestion...

Ah, ok... I just know that there are still a lot of things in the store that are no longer needed.... and I haven't actually seen the plugin to check it out...

  • I have to sit out this one.

Subscription dropped due to a site glitch.

Broke from previous sales (loved them)

so will wait until Dec. then can afford to restart subscription and buy more stuff.

I'm in the "this is it?" camp right now.  Maybe DAZ plans on doing the big sale on CyberMonday this year?  As it is, this has been a bit of a yawnfest thus far and the day is more than half-over.

And in the other corner, I got two separate DAZ newsletters for The Morph3D Store which is evidently content designed to be used for games.

  • HavosHavos Posts: 5,612

What was missing from the PA and PC+ sale was those occasional extra discounts that DAZ might thrown in to knock off a bit extra to tempt you to jump in and buy. For example 10$ off if you spend 50$ or more, or even more amazing 20$ off if you spend 50$ or more (this happened once during March Madness, and so was, for me at least, the only truely mad day of that year's March sale).

From what I hear it's much more powerful than the built in one

The simulations are the same - it offers the wind generator, and allows you to edit the cloth settings (the free version can load presets but doesn't allow indivdual adjustments of settings).

Editing the cloth settings includes changing the size of the cloth which is fairly important when fitting the item to a figure it was not originally designed for (and considering both the lack of available dynamic clothing, plus the fact a lot of what is available is for the Gen 4 figures, not Genesis ones, then fitting to an alternate figure is likely to be desirable). There is a work around for this when using the free plug in, you resize the figure to fit the clothing, fit and freeze the clothing, and the resize the figures back to what they were. However this approach has drawbacks, and it is better to be able to resize the clothing to fit the figure rather than vice versa.

The ability to change the stiffness, stretch/shear, weight, and fiction of clothing makes a big difference. A lot of outfits end up slipping down a character too much without tweaking.

Well, I see something else ending up on my wishlist now... I Don't know what would be involved or the contracts between Daz and OptiTex, but they need to find a way to open up the Access to dynamics a bit... Such oportunites there I think...
