I like this hair but i don't get the [Princess Series Sky Pirate Braid's] bangs draped behind the ears. Does anyone know how to do this?

I don't have those braids. But sometimes, you need to dig into the rigging of long hair to get it to move how you'd like, even when it looks like there's plenty of sliders to do what you want.

One optiion would be to use a primitive in a Play Range simulation to push the hair back, though you would probably need to flatten the existing hair behind the ears to make room. Add a promitive with 20 or so dvisions, a cyliinder would work but you could also use a torus to put a loop around the hair, and line it up with the bangs in fram zero, then drag the timeline playhead to frame 30 and poision the primitive as if it has just pushed the hair back. When you do the simulation it may push the hair ahead of it, though on a quick test I am not sure if all the strands have enough movement.

Another option would be to use a dForm (or several) to create morphs for the hair, you'd probably need to use a weight map on the hair to modify the effect rather than trying to position the field correctly.

  • Thank you for your response. There are no sliders for this and moving any bone in the hair is not getting these front bangs moving  very much so maybe creating custom bones is the only way to do this.

Have you tried the dForm or primitive to push the hair around options?

  • Not yet, i'll figure that out. Thankx

  • OH, yes it works! Bangs are moving now. Good advice Richard.
