Daz Studio 6 Issues
When I go to open anything in the new version of Daz Studio, the prop, character, scene, etc. appears in the scene tab. However, it's invisible in the viewport. It sort of appear if I hover the mouse over it, it sort of shows up as a blue outine of whatever part it happens to be over. Everything appears eventually if I switch to NVIDIA Iray like it's previewing a render from the little globe menu in the upper right corner of the viewport however it disappears again when I switch back to Texture Shaded.
It worked fine in the old version of Daz Studio, so what gives?

Even a single piece of them couldn't be seen at all in Viewport ? That's strange.... With Texture Shaded drawstyle, can you open Draw Settings pane, check if those toggles of "Enable..." are turned on ? They should be turned on by default.
Or, any screenshot ?
Here's a screenshot of my Daz Studio with the Draw Settings tab open. Everything's on, but for some reason the character doesn't appear in the viewport. I have it set to Texture Shaded.
That looks weird ~~ I'm using 3090 and 4090 cards. What Nvidia card are you using and what's the driver version ?
I have absolutely no idea. The older version of Daz Studio worked fine, then this happened when I installed the updated version. Gotta say, I'm more than a little upset.
I can't even post the number of issues I've encountered. I do know this much: I will NEVER update Daz ever again. It's almost like the developers forgot about certain extensions or couldn't care less. Scripts don't work. NONE of my costly purchases weren't found or won't load. I have spent days trying to find answers.
No one should be expected to waste a week to figure out what's gone wrong. No update on any software should have issues finding its own files. Why do DAZ scripts not work? Get this (see attached) every time I try to use a DAZ script.
Using the AI to find answers? Good luck with that. It literally contradicts itself and - for example - says to go to a menu item, then to a submenu item that is not even listed. It's like it doesn't even know what software I'm in!
GOOD WORK! Maybe invest in some QA? You know... test it out before release? Never have any other issues with any other software updates. Updating Daz is extremely HIGH risk, and you must expect MONTHS of downtime.
The only solution is to uninstall Daft6.
Different versions of Daz Studio do not share settings, so you will have to tell it where your ciontent 9and database) are in Edit>Preferences>Content>Content Directory Manager. This is not new behaviour.
Daz was up-front that plug-ins will need to be modified and recompiled to work in DS 6, this has been reiterated in alomst every discussion and I thought was in the release notes. Scripts may or may not work, depending on what they do and how they do it. That chnage is unavoidable if Daz is to move to a newer, still supported version of the Qt framework (which will then open up the path for other much requested features).
Forgive me, but when I listed all the submenu items within the Content Directory Manager, having stated that none of them worked, even with Daz content, I am confused as to what you are saying. Even more so with follow-up sentences.
When I update Photoshop, it keeps all my Actions, Brushes, Patterns, and Textures, no matter how old they are. When I update Blender, it still reads all files ever created back 10+ years. And why can't Daz be the same? It's nowhere near as complex. Even every single "figure" still can't hold a sword properly, or a glass, due to the thumbs. Or, do not look cross-eyed when looking left or right. (attachments are from the Daz Store) Or not having the chest look odd when you move a shoulder to fold arms because the collarbone is missing. At least you can fix the cross-eyed problem.
All I'm saying out of frustration is that every new version of Daz creates more issues. And they are never the same issues. I am fundamentally confused as to why my purchased content from the Daz store won't load properly on a new install, but my custom work will.
I am using Daz products in Daz software installed using DAZ3DIM, shouldn't it know where its own directories are?
If this sounds like I am ranting at you, please don't take it that way. I am simply frustrated, mostly with myself for thinking I can install the newest version without hassle. Installing a new version ALWAYS seems to be a huge issue, and I simply cannot figure out why.
PS, I did find a fix... kinda... uninstalling all content and reinstalling... because... reasons...
That isn't my recollection for major version updtes to Photoshop - majore version being the first number. DS 4 to DS 6 is a major version upate (and doesn't overwrite the previous meajor version). Minore version updates (4.x to 4.x+1) did keep settings, as they do with most applications.
