Vue 2024 can now render using Cycles

I post this here for anyone interested in rendering in Cycles. Vue maybe an option for Blender.

And since Vue has not been updated since 2024, no need to fork out a zillion bucks for a new Nvidia gpu.

Apparently it uses the Blender 3.6 Cycles engine.

I have yet to try this. But will do soon. Just released from hospital on the weeking after picking up two nasty blood infections after my bladder removal last month.

Okay... um, your health issues sound TERRIFYING! Hopefully you are getting better and your health will improve and your quality of life will be great.

Hmmmm. This is interesting news. I used to LOVE Vue, but haven't touched it in years. I'll take another look at it.

I am not an expert on Cycles or Blender, but I did do a quick test with a Vue scene and the Cycles rendering option. The result looked very different from what you'd get using Vue's own renderer, and wasn't really usable. You can't -- as I rather naively assumed -- just render a Vue scene in Cycles. It looks like you'd need to do a lot of material tweaking to get results you'd be happy with.

So it's certainly an option (although I think they say that it's still experimental or beta, and unlikely ever to be developed further) but it's not a one-click solution by any means.
