Ok found out why I am not getting very far with Daz 3D Studio it is because it will not go into my ex HD it is going into IN HD.

I tried doing the installing from inside Daz 3D and it went into my IN HD.

I am so frusterated with the whole thing!!!

If you install through Daz Studio that is using Daz Connect, the location it used is not related to any of the DIM settings. It is the daz Connect Data Directory in Edit>Preferences>Content tab>Content Directory Manager. If you chnage it you will be asked if you want to make the old location a regular content directory, but I would think you want to say no and just move the data folder from the old locatiion to the new (you are selecting the folder that holds the /Data/Cloud/product code folders, not the cloud folder directly).

I did that once I found out that it went to the internal drive and then it would not read the data after moving it.

So not sure of what to do now.

Where is the data/cloud folder and what is your current setting for the Daz Connect Data Directory?

It is in the My Documents file where it gets installed at.

I am attaching a screen shot

Abd that is the external drive? Though if it is in OneDrive it may have been moved from the location DS has been told to look, which is why I am asking for the full path and also for the path set in Daz Studio.

I think I was stupid and signed up for one drive but it only offered 5 g and that is not even enough but I am on a fixed income and can't afford to buy more cloud space.

So not sure how I can even solve this problem?!

To stop synching to OneDrive see the first reply here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5201142/how-do-i-uninstall-onedrive-while-also-have-all-my

Please, assuming that doesn't put the files on the external drive and enable DS to see them, post their restoed location and a screenshot of the Content Directory manager showing the current settings for the Daz Connect Data Directory.
