Is this a doe?

I'm just curious, but would this deer be considered a doe? If so, would there be a matching buck with antlers?

If you've got the horse morphs, a lil googling turned this over:

Bucks are generally larger and more muscular than does, with a heavier build, a thicker neck, and broader shoulders. Does have a more slender and streamlined, almost rectangular build. Young button bucks will be a bit more squarish compared to does.

Bucks often have a more pronounced, flattened forehead with larger, blockier heads. A doe's head is typically more rounded on top with a narrower face, similar to the shape of an old-school glass Coke bottle with floppy ears. Button bucks will have a shorter snout than a doe and still have a flattened forehead similar to a more mature buck.

During the rut, a buck's neck can swell by 50 percent. Even outside of the breeding season, their necks are thicker than those of does. Does have a more elongated and graceful-looking neck. Button bucks will have a shorter neck. Buck deer will also have a larger and more pronounced brisket. Thanks for the antlers link. I did look up the difference on Google. I still wasn't sure if this one was a doe or a buck. I'm guessing a doe lol.

I really don't know a lot (or much at all) about deer, but if you look at Luna-s20's freestuff page at Rendo, you will see doe & bucks along with a few poses. May give some ideas. Regards, Richard.

fallow deer are feral in Australia and the only deer I have seen

the males have antlers and are bigger with an adams apple according to Google

I think the antlers are different to other deer species too but I am no expert, I have patted and fed some on a deer farm (and bought and ate their meat) that's my only experience devil

Well, if it was meant to be a buck, then yes it's missing antlers.  Doh!devil (*Said in my best Homer Simpson voice.*)

Not an exact match, but if you have Horse 2, then there is this critter: https://www.daz3d.com/tane-the-old-deer-for-daz-horse-2

  • Yes, the spotted coat is a fawn, but there are brown & white materials also. The brown is adult, at least for the white tailed deer here. White. I have only heard of as mythical or fairytale creatures.

Actulally Fallow Deer (Dama dama) adults have spotted fur just like that - the males have antlers so it is more likely a female.

ETA: The product store page says they are modelled on Fallow deer too.

Yes they are mostly in Europe and presumably still in the parts of Asia Minor where they originated. I see from the map in the Wiki that there are a few in parts of the US and South America and Australia introduced by incoming humans in the last hundred years or so, but I guess they are very uncommon there.

This is helpful information. Thank you all. I got the deer on sale. It's kind of interesting that fallow buck's antlers look a little like moose antlers.

Probably the case. Privacy is not a thing that can be allowed to get in the way of advertising revenue regardless of privacy policies. And, sometimes, regardless of local laws. I wish I was wrong. There was a BBC reporter a couple of years ago who used Facebook on his phone & found, despite privacy settings, his whole contact list had been harvested by Facebook up to that very day. The contact list was held on Facebook servers to allow them to easily make connections between people.

    Regards,

    Richard

If you need more cervidae diversity you can also check the various Hivewire Deer packs at Rendo (they're add-ons for the Hivewire Horse).
