Chrryt - Impressed

I have to say, I really appreciate the direction the latest figures that this artist has gone with the latest figures. I like the individuality of their 8.1 figures, but it felt like there was a slump in quality, or perhaps not so much quality as there was just too much comonality between all the figures in the G9 line as they were churned out. But now, with Lyra Solene, Borsha, and Amy Doll all being quite distinctive not only from each other but from Chrryt's previous works largely yet still retaining some quality that is somehow still discernably their style. Though I have purchased some of their other G9 figures, I just haven't felt the need to get all that many due to the strong resemblance between them. But now I have to say I quite approve of this trend.

I still like Magic Brush's figures too, but as their latest few failed to include AE, I've only wishlisted them to pick up when available more deeply discounted. However much I like an artist, I tend to discount incomplete - or what I regard as incomplete at any rate - work whether or not I intend to utilize a particular feature or not. It's sort of the same reason I tend to discount scenes with hospital beds that don't articulate, apartments that don't have all the rooms that a renter would expect to find, or even things like zippers on clothing that serve no purpose but decoration. If it can't unzip then why bother having it on the clothing? Perhaps I'm in the minority, and I've digressed from my original point, but I feel that Chrryt is not only improving by expanding their repertoire, but also by not removing features they previously included. I also have this vague hope that one day they might come out with a character that resembles AeonSouls iconic figurehead, since they seem to have no interest in releasing her again.

I'm less annoyed by zippers that don't unzip, than I am by Zippers without a pull.

I just wish Chrryt (and other PAs) would stop putting face chains on all the promo images. They change one's impression of the face shape, especially cheek bones, with their presence. Or perhaps limit them to the one of the extra promo images and not in the primary promo image.

I certainly won't disagree, all of the face jewelry or other dodads that make it difficult to discern the character that is ostensibly being marketed are distracting at best. Offputting, perhaps?

You know, that didn't even occur to me. What does that say, I don't know. But I concur. There does seem to be a lot of love for extraneous zippers though.

And zippers that don't have a texture. Or a flat colour without teeth.

And men's pants lacking even just the impression of belt loops, let alone functional belt loops.
