I suspect more people will be encouraged to just not buy at all.

Combine this with the Premiere folks feeling slighted because there was a discount a few days ago that only catered to new customers and not at all to existing customers. These things pile up.

they've been piling up for awhile, along with pricing gradually headed up. Today, for instanc, I am buying the 2 new DAZ+ releases, and even they have a higher end price. I added my 4 tokens, gained 0 tokens. That is that. My premiere ends on the 27th and I won't renew until a big sale. My purchasing will probably go to nothing until I  buy premiere again. I still look at new and put anything I'm interested in into my WL. I have not had a WL item on sale for quite a long time, though.

    Yes! Thanks DzFire!!!

Finally got my hands on Tengu for Cyborg Generation 8! I've been wanting his Ronan preset to act as a very mysterious adversary, but the other two will certainly come in handy as well - like, I may use Tengu Zen as his brother, who is on the side of the protagonist, and Tengu as several other cyborgs that are teamed up with Tengu Ronan - we'll see.

Three cool individual cyborgs in one amazing pack!

Hey, DzFire... your stuff is always worth full price - the products I have from you owe me absolutely Nothing - So Good!!!

So I really mean it when I say Thank You! I truly appreciate the gift!

Oddly, it's only his G8 and up catalog. Earlier gen sets aren't included in the sales page. (And of course nothing that's "new".)

The banner for the Zeddicuss promo is... something else. I think I love the banner dicotomy, either peak ChatGPT aesthetic or straigth out of a 2005 PowerPoint, it adds it's own storytelling to the website.

LOL if only the PowerPoints I've been subjected to had looked that good.

I guess the Still New concept with discount promotions is completely dead.

I'm not sure the Still New idea really makes sense when each set of new releases have their own sale page.

For several months, there was the Still New idea. And usually you would get 40% off still new and a 10-30% bump if you also bought a new release. It made grabbing something recently new more palatable. When it takes 6 months (and longer) for items to reach the featured PA stores, that's a long time the items just never go on sale at all.

I guess DAZ made this change to encourage people to buy when something they want is first released, rather than waiting 60 days to pick it up at a far lower price. A lot of people are willing to wait 2 months for something, but having to wait over a year may persuade them to buy on release when there is at least some sort of discount.

Well, I guess that might work with me if most of the Daz stuff I bought, I bought because it's exactly what I need, and therefore I'm willing to pay the introductory price for it.

Problem is, it's almost never the case that someone is selling exactly what I need. They're selling something sorta similar that I might be able to adapt, once I see how it's built. Or not. I've been buying speculatively, to acquire a large pool of items I might be able to recombine, repaint, remodel, etc.

For that strategy to work, either the misses have to be cheap, or one's pockets have to be deeper than mine. It works not at all when the misses are expensive.

So I've ditched the wishlist again. I already know the recurring sale prices of everything of moderate age that was on it. New items aren't hitting my price points, and mostly won't before I decide not to renew my membership come fall because it's no longer paying off.

It's all good, it's time I shifted anyway.

Yes. Now I didn't care about the annual memberships per se. I do care about the message it sends, which isn't a good one. (I prefer the flexibility of buying a month here, 2 months there of Plus or Premier.) And there are other things that devalue memberships and loyalty - floor prices, how hard it can be to use some coupons, recurring glitches (Hi, Quick Grab!), limitations/exclusions that Daz conveniently "forgets" to include on the sales pages, etc.

The latest addition to the pileup for me: I was going to buy some of the $5.99 prop items, & because I have some WL items in the selection I was going to buy more than I usually do, and use my DO coupon toward the DOs in the cart. But the deal doesn't work with the membership coupons. Now we can't use the membership coupons with non-coupon deals? Fine by me. I dumped the cart.

For the low, low price of a petty move, Daz bought themselves - a lost sale.

Don't forget the quality of the weekly free-if-you-pay-for-membership items. Ohhh... random sci-fi coridor or dark waiting/club room #836... so tempting...

Yes, they are not free. They are prepaid pig-in-a-poke items. They are no longer an incentive to pay for membership, because of the extremely repetitive nature of those items you mentioned. And they just keep coming!

Yeah. It's annoying enough on the old heavily discounted subscription I got pre-premier. Now that they took away the ability to get deals like that on membership I can't see myself re-subbing for a year at a crack once this one runs out in January. The benefits just aren't going to outweigh the cost for me at that point. Kinda sad that I've hit the disillusioned point after only being here 2.5 years, but I'm not a big spender and clearly not the target market, so I doubt Daz will miss my business. And I can focus more on renders than cart jenga.

and why i talk like I do...I've been here before DAZ was DAZ. I've seen all the changes through the years. All of them. Through the Poser years, and then DAZ Studio, then no more Poser support, etc etc ... yeah  Buyout of Bryce, Hexagon, Carrara, etc..and then basically dropping them all. Still here but not developed for what seems like eternity.

I still like a month of Daz+ here or there so I can binge on OS items and use some coupons. OS has been a good innovation. I sometimes got bigger scores on the old Lightning deals, but the OS is usually more reliable. QG sometimes has a few items for me, too.

Yeah, that'll likely be me, too. A full year won't make sense, but I'll target to when there's a sale that absorbs the price of membership and still gives a good bargain. I'll be curious to see how much QG and OS still do for me at that point, whether or not I've picked off the stuff they're offering that I'm interested in. Lately both have been a lot of stuff I already have.

I'm okay with it, though. I'm grateful to have cleared out all of the "really want it" items from my WL at prices that worked for me, and now I'm just left with the "might be nice" stuff that... well, might be nice. But if it doesn't happen, also no big deal. I have so many fantastic toys to play with already that I could go the rest of my life on just what I've got and not run out of stuff I can do with it.

At this point I'm largely waiting for a solid age-down-to-infancy morph for G9, a good set of house cats, that Dirty Dishes expansion, and potentially any other new tools that solve pain points.

Beyond that -- it's all about the render! I look forward to having the bandwidth to focus on getting better at the truly fun part. :)

I was the same, and when my old-style membership ended, I didn't extend it. Not enough incentives: on D+ coupons are not that great since the prices in the store hiked, not interesting freebies everyone mentioned (I much preferred when those were plants; at least there was some variety with them), and prices of D+ items also having gone up (to the point where I buy only things I really want/need vs. just anything cool because it was cheap).
Then, I rejoined for a year during last fall's Daz festival, because they discounted the offer and for the lower price, I knew I'd probably get my money's worth in OS/QG alone, with the occasional use of the coupon. But even with that, I don't necessarily see myself staying for another full year, and likely switching to monthly memberships... unless the offer for a yearly one is really good or OS/QG consistently has stunning (for me, of course) items.

Used the code MAD-FLASH and a new release, plus the five tokens I had. The stuff I bought ended up cheaper in basket than advertised even before adding the new release and code, so I guess Premier discount applies again.

From several tests i did. The actual silly ones (just a few cents), seems to be DO (non Daz+ probably), from bellow 49000 (ish) sku (very early G8). But is limited to 5, the 6th goes regular advertised discount.

I don't have mmore interesting new release.

Yes it was just the five items, but a lot of the others in my basket ended up under $3. I did spend over $120 this morning frown DIM took ages to install it all laugh
