Gallery "Under Construction"

I didn't know quite where to put this, but figured it would fit here: Anybody know what this message is about? Is it just routine maintenance or is it something more? "We're under construction and focusing on exciting new features. New comments are disabled for now, but the gallery remains open for you to enjoy. Thanks for your patience!"

    FJM1977,

Yes, I see it too at the bottom of the Gallery comments section. Mystery.

    Cheers!

Pretty please for HTML-rendered Scene Description, once the big textbox has been filled in (pretty, pretty please angel)

Maybe they are actually going to allow animations in the gallery, like Renderosity has allowed for years now. Hard to believe its still not an option after all these years. And don't give me "but server costs". If Renderosity can afford it, Daz can afford it.

New images also can't be added:

    Big Things Coming Soon!

To make room for new features, we've paused new gallery posts and comments.

The gallery is still available for browsing, but we are shifting our focus to behind-the-scenes updates for now.

Thanks for your patience while we build!

...maybe they will improve the gallery search?

    One can dream.

I hope they remove the AI stuff or at least allow for permanent switching it off/hiding/filtering. I'm here for 3d renders.

The only thing is, sometimes I will use affinity's inpainting tool for post work (removing stray models, poke-through), which always makes me feel like I need to put it in an AI enhanced catagory.

Affinity's inpainting tool is not AI. (Unless they have a new one that uses it, but anything-AI is optional in Affinity, so there's no need to download the AI stuff as far as I know.)

You can set the default for the gallery with the browser console (F12):

    setDefaultGallery('traditional', 'newest')

Whether that will still work when they've finished the current changes is of course unknown.

...It would be better if it was a "visible" option,  DA  has an "AI content settings" option on your profile drop down menu that allow you to filter out (suppress) AI.

I have many hopes for what they could do with the gallery, although I have to admit that my expectations are pretty tempered.

I think the core things it needs as a gallery are the ability to follow other artists, get notified about replies, and proper tagging and searching (you can't even tag things as "Genesis 9", as only previously approved tags can be used).

As a resource for the store, I think it needs to do what Daz Deals does and integrate gallery renders into store pages. As I've said before, this would be so much more useful for providing community "reviews" than expecting people to go back and vote up their favourite old products.

...indeed seeing content in use is a big aid when deciding to buy or not as there are cases where product page promos are not the best quality (there is a thread that recently popped up on this).

I haven't posted anything new in a long time (! I have to go create stuff again one of these days) but I faced that quandary with small things also. I sometimes use AI-created items for incidental wall and desk art. I feel like I'm lying if I say there's no AI.

    Do you browse the gallery?

Because everything you're asking for is allowed.

Renders with people holding hands are visible on the gallery, same with people hugging or kissing, and as long as there is an underwear under a skirt, I don't see why it could not fly up considering they are regularly renders showing people in underwear / swimsuit / bikini armors / etc.

Could be political satire, or something that can be considered insensitive, like mockery of other people's beliefs and religion. Objectively, images with these themes can be passable, but the context makes them bad.

I hope they are associating the gallery likes, to their new rating system, like I suggested a while back . . . but I doubt that will ever ghappen happen because it makes too much sense.

I'm at least hoping they fix the issue related to posting pictures from the gallery quickly end up dying here in the forums.

no and I'll probably get into trouble for saying this I got banned for posting images like that and complained about asking why others were alloweed to post far more revealing images and where there was more touching placement of hands, head on on other characters

All of this, but for me personally... especially following artists and getting notifications on comments or replies. I feel awful when I suddenly notice someone made a comment or asked a question on one of my pictures and it just sat there unanswered because I had no clue.

I wonder why they need to pause the gallery to work on it.Or is the rollout of the new version taking so long? I really hope our uploads don't get lost, as I don't have too much trust in Daz webwise. The models and Daz Studio itself are nice, but everything webbased they do(store, forum, gallery) usually has problems. Like the constant gateway errors and stuff. But anyway, let's just wait and see what happens. I just hope it doesn't take so long because the update went wrong and now they have to fix the live system.
