MATS gone white, cannot be replaced
in The Commons
I have a weird problem. I did i do not know what, and at some I realized that the texture mats on my character went white. Undoing did not restore them to the original. I saved a previous version's mats as a material set, but am not able to apply that either: still white. Even weirder: the surfaces tabs all have the Mats loaded. And applying a different character's Mats does nothing either: still white. Anybody encountered this before? And how to resolve this?

Is it possible you have the viewport in smooth shaded mode?
Do you have a geoshell on the character? or did you try to apply a geoshell material to your character? Sometimes such changes cannot be Ctrl+Z'd for some reason.
Yeah, sounds like a geoshell/geograft issue. It's especially easy to run into this problem with G9 as it's much more dependent upon grafts and geoshells than previous generations were. Easiest way to check would be to pull up a base version of the figure and then apply your saved texture to that to see if it shows on the unmodified base.
Is it the whole scene or just parts?
I have this issue with one of my chracters who uses the MB Sarice textures for her skin. And it's not even necessarily a geoshell issue... sometimes the mats just go poof for no apparent reason whatsoever.
Sometimes, for reasons beyond my ken, when reapplying the mats won't work... loading in Sarice as a new character (textures and everything applied) and THEN applying the mats to the desired character makes them take.
Go figure, right? But give it a try, maybe it'll work for you.
Good luck.
Sounds like White Mode could be switched on, because with White Mode everything looks white regardless of any textures that are loaded. To check just go into your Render Settings panel and look for the White Mode tab. There's an On/Off button under there and perhaps it's switched on.
