    I have to admit that I'm not entirely convinced by it as a tradition, as I have very occasionally had carts glitch out and charge the full list price without discounts. (And for some reason, PayPal will let you authorise one price and then let you be charged another).

    That's not too bad when you can put the item through in its own cart and have the store recognise it's a free order and not ask for payment, but it's more of an issue when deals require everything to be in the same cart.

    Edit: I bought a duplicate item March 30th but I won't send the ticket for a credit in today, in case they think it's a joke.

    It wasn't marked "Product Owned" on the product page? Is it a newer item or an old product? Just trying to troubleshoot cause I've almost done it a couple times recently and they were both on older products 1yr+. I have had a couple that still showed even though I had "Hide Items owned" checked and when I went it and it said owned. For the most part it was fixed up until a month or maybe 2 that I started noticing some stuff I already own showing up.

    It was usually done using a freebie made by KindredArts, but I don't see any released today outside of the dog.

    Way back in the Genesis 2 days, DAZ introduced a character, Bijou, as a special promotion for selected members.  Since she had to be in the catalog (for those select members to acquire), they had to put a price on her.

    But, in an effort to keep her 'exclusive', DAZ put an insanely high price on the character -- $349 and change, if memory serves.  The move was intended to deter the 'great unwashed' from buying her

    Well, that was back in the day when I had more dollars than sense, so I decided to buy her, if only to see if DAZ would let me.  (Spoiler alert: they did.)

    I used the crap out of her for over three years bexause, goldarnit, I was determined to get my money's worth out of her!

    So..., yeah.  Tradition.  Or at least a precedent.

    I got her for winning a forum contest, IIRC. Too bad I never use characters as-is out of the box, but it did make me feel a bit smug.

    IIRC, Spuggles held the highest price tag for a Daz product. It was worth 1 million dollars.

    There was price inflation this year. Last year the MSRP of the April Fools item was only $9,999.
