And using 8 tokens on it is saving a couple of thousands of dollars cool

    ROFL!

On a serious note, there's again a problem with the Shooting Star item not discounting to $4.99/$2.99 with a star. But the store recognizes stars for door prizes today.

Has DAZ been inhaling mercury fumes and really gone mad? Guess the joke's on me this year. The Balloon Dog Figure is $7349.51 in my cart.. Thanks but NO THANKS!

They are hoping someone is dumb enough to try and purchase it hoping that it somehow doesn't charge them $10k

Other kind of discounts also not work

DAZ's April Fools joke is that anyone would expect the store to function properly.

It looks like  Balloon Dog Figure has been fixed. It is now $0.00 in my cart.

The Balloon dog is listed as Newly Mad release, and as such, together with another Newly Mad, they should be discounted 20%, which they do not.

All the discounts look correct to me now!

Where is the incorrect link of which you speak. We don't normally link an object to its textures, do we, since there could be multiples?

  • felisfelis Posts: 6,199

If you look at other products with add-ons there is usually a section in the bottom called Add-ons.

It's not much of a joke when it's something that no one would ever fall for, believe, or expect.

It's about the missing Product Add-ons section for this outfit, the section products with add-ons have at the bottom of their store page:

The Balloon Animal is under the Newly Mad release section, but it doesn't give the 50% off discount to the qualifying items in the Mad Artists store. It only gives you the extra 30% off wishlist items with the code APRIL-FUN.

So is it supposed to give both discounts? If not, then it shouldn't be under the Newly Mad releases.

    I've sent an inquiry.

You jest, but toxic fumes and dust drifting off the Great Salt Lake... primarily mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium... have actually become a major health hazard in DAZ-land, so the answer may very well be "yes"..

    It's also supposed to cost $14 999.

@Cris Palomino: Sorry for the late reply! No incorrect link, but a missing link. Please compare with screenshot at bottom (click to enlarge): The above outfit misses that information at the bottom, so potential customers don't know there is an add - on to the product.

The joke is, when you put the Balloon Dog in your cart, you don't get 50% discount on Mad Artist Stores when you should, since it's written "Get an extra 50% off* with any Newly Mad Release," and the Balloon Dog Figure is clearly under the New Mad Releases section. It's not saying "purchase a Newly Mad Release" (or better "spend money on a Newly Mad Release," since a freebie, here, is still legally a purchase, since it's done through a 100% rebate purchase): you just have to have a Newly Mad Release in your cart -- but it's not working... Happy April Fool's Day!

Traditionally in the Daz shop, free items don't contribute to promotional requirements.

And, as been pointed out repeatedly, just because it's traditional in the DAZ store, they STILL have to have a disclaimer addressing it, as there are always new customers coming in who will not know that or older customers who will not remember it.  It's like going into a restaurant where they always add a 25% tip tio be automatically the tab and not being informed of that until after you get the bill.

Freebies don't trigger discounts and never have, but the product was accidently put in the newly mad section which, has now been fixed.

the APRIL-FUN code does not work, even though it says "if you own or buy Balloon Dog Figure" . so if I had bought the balloon dog figure in a previous transaction and now want to use this code, the "if you own" part does not work. It also disclaimers that "items must be simultaneously in cart to apply" so it seems like you would have had to put the wishlist items in at the same time the balloon dog was in the cart? so "if you own" never applies here.

Oh! Great! It means I'll save money!

But I wasn't debating... Just stating facts -- the proof is, if I weren't, they wouldn't need to move the Balloon Dog Figure from the Newly Mad section.

And the sentence "Freebies don't trigger discounts and never have" is not true because, on today's sale page, we have:

    "TODAY’S SPECIAL

    Balloon Dog Day

    Use code: APRIL-FUN

Extra 30% off up to 10 wishlisted items
if you own or buy Balloon Dog Figure [i.e., a freebie — emphasis added]"

Freebies rarely earn special offers, and when they do it is usually flagged or a special situation (e.g. the premier free character bundle). However, having the Balloon Dog in Newly Mad was an error and it was fixed..

The biggest problem that I see is that nothing in the Daz Store advertisements can ever be believed. Sure, some things work as advertised, but every day several things are later determined to be "errors". How is a customer supposed to know what is intended and what is an "error"? Customers can never be confident that the price they are being charged is the right price. This has been going on for years. It feels like Daz only fixes errors after customers waste hours complaining here in the forum, and administrators waste hours trying to recreate and understand the problems. We are all working for Daz for free. We are all tired of it.
