Here's some love for Caprica. The lighting is uninspired, the pose is meh, the color palette is jarring, but the girl is as lovely as can be. Maclean's set is pretty awesome, too! She's my favorite BlueJaunte model by far.
It is highly problematic, to judge a person's age, especially when a person is so much older or younger, than yourself.
(anecdote:
I once met someone at work, that I guessed to be 12 years old.
Turned out, she has been 27 at that time and had already two children. she applied for a job after being for maternity leave.)
Just guess, how old does Jenna Coleman a.k.a. Clara Oswald in the Dr. Who show looks like.
All her facial features messured suggest, that she is clearly underaged, and yet (at least not to me) she does not look underaged in the show.
It appears to be most difficult, to create a 3d character, that looks kinda cute, young, but not too young, but still pretty without looking stylized at all the same time.
Interesting, thanks for the feedback guys. Must be the face because she has about default Genesis 9 Feminine proportions. About same height, same head to body ratio. Bit less breast, bit less waist, little slimmer overall but nothing dramatic. Most importantly though, and usually a brutal judge of such issues, is Daz waving her nudes through without even a comment. Historically they have been extremely cautious with this stuff. Even with just genital textures existing or not.
Apologies to those who felt rubbed the wrong way though.
Iam pretty sure Death 9's skins were made by bluejaunte under the Daz original alias. That and Lianna 9, probably. Does anyone know what else?
Sorry to disappoint but I've never collaborated with anyone including Daz. What makes you think that?
WOW I didnt know you post here too! Well those skins do look like your works to my eyes! Especially the Death skins, I thought it was you! I dont know how to describe it but those skins are really realistic (and dare I say Death 9 has the best pale skin in the whole store) and on the same level as your so I just assume so!
Thanks for the kind words then! There's plenty of realistic skins these days :)
@bluejaunte do you plan to update the Camera Manager for DS 2025 when the SDK is stable? I find it hard to live without, when testing the current DS 2025 Alpha.
Thats good news, thanks.
Absolutely in my pantheon of creators, even if not doing photorealistic. Just picked up Clarissa yesterday, a real breeze to work with. Thanks once again!
Great to hear, thanks :)
Can't say I blame you for being careful, but no, she doesn't look underage (to me). Personally I aim for 20 years by default (40 for matures), because I see those ages as the best sweet spots for working from as an age guide. I have my own mental age guide that works as follows:
10 - 20 - 40 - 80
Note that each age increase is an exact doubling-up of the previous age, and that it also spans the average life expectancy perfectly. So the way I see it, as long as you aim for 20 when working on a young adult, it's much harder to find yourself with an underage-looking character than if you aim for 18.
- Aiming for 10 will likely produce an obvious child
- Aiming for 20 will likely produce an obvious young adult
- Aiming for 40 will likely produce an obvious mature adult
- Aiming for 80 will likely produce an obvious elderly adult
Just thought I'd chime-in on that one, but really just wanted to congratulate you on Amala HD. Amala HD is the best sculpt I ever bought for a character, period. Love the body on her. She's very elegant and graceful and the face has real charcter. So if you ever find yourself short of ideas, I really wish you'd release a Genesis 9 version of that sculpt, exactly the same, but without the alien features.
I think the body sculpt is so well done, so well balanced, that if you altered it even in the slightest, you could easily ruin it:
Honestly, this is the finest dancer bod I ever saw from any vendor on here (and I've seen a lot of dancer bods) - Amala HD
I don't usually aim for anything. Things just happen. That's part of the problem I guess. Glad you enjoy Amala, I remember her being a very niche character with equally niche sales. So definitely a no to a G9 version I'm afraid. I have no plans to do this again anyway as Ensley was hell. Getting her to almost indistinguishable from the original really drove me crazy. Should've probably just done 2.0 and embrace the differences, call them advancements
lol, well that's fair enough, but to be honest I'm not surprised the sales were niche. Much as I like her, I almost never bought her myself, either, and it was purely down to the sculpted-in alien hair. Her having an alien texture for example, that's not a problem since we can get around that by using a different texture anyway.
That sculpted-in hair, though, that's definitely going to put customers off because they realise they cannot have that fantastic face sculpt without the alien hair dialling in with it. But oh well, it's a damn shame because that body type is hard to find. There was only ever one other Genesis 8 character that I found that had a similar body. Can't remember what she's called off hand, but she was also perfect for blending with Amala for getting a very toned, athletic/dancer type body.
Yeah that was dumb in hindsight. Should have just released a purely human variant at the same time. Or do the alien hair as a separate morph. I even started working a human version but that was later I think and then it just didn't make sense anymore.
Found the human morph, quickly hacked a hair neutralizing morph for her : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QUF6Pq_TTSTo6VCviNl10mFJRkXxx6rQ/view?usp=sharing
Ah man, that was mighty sporting of you, bluejaunte, cheers mate!
I don't have my Genesis 8 content installed at the moment. I had to uninstall it to make room for a DaVinci Resolve project that was unexpectedly gobbling-up more space than I anticipated. I'm preparing to do a routine SSD reformat though, and I'll be reinstalling my Genesis 8 content once complete. I did try to move over purely to Genesis 9, but that's kinda dumb and there's no reason I can't use both, especially as they share a lot of compatibilty in content anyway. So I'll definitely be making use of Amala HD now that I have that morph, and I totally recommend her to everyone who has a Genesis 8 content library.
Seriously, I hope peeps will take more time in examining your promotional images. They don't know what they're missing! Check the body, check the shoulders, check the knees, and now that face sculpt comes with the option to remove the alien hair, you even get a very unique and relaistic head sculpt to add to your collection.
As I said previously, she's the best sculpt I ever bought, period.
Thanks bluejaunte for the morph! I like Amala's unique slender and otherworldly look. Must get round to starring her in a project. Cheers.
I am also a long time fan of the characters of bluejaunte, all top quality, from the first to the last. Misumi and Amira are still my favorites. As for Clarissa, when I saw her promos I immediately estimated her at 19 years, 2 months and 11 days. (a margin of error of 5 days is possible)
Thank you! One of my favourite body sculpts as well
Sure np guys :)
FACTS! I use it all the time! I run my main viewport in texture shaded or filament, and my Aux in Iray, but just having the toggles (backtick and semi-colon) for both Aux VP and Iray preview has saved me so much time... And that's just 2 of the (for me most-used) options!
So happy to FINALLY have Eydis for Genesis 9! When I was trying to dial my main G8 character, I always started with Noemi at 50% or higher, then added other, less beautiful (imo) characters to quirk her up. There is something special and distinct about bluejaunte's head morphs (imo, dang pc) that I don't find with other models. But I had no bluejaunte G9 conventional beauty until now (imo, all of this is my opinion, btw). What a long wait. Since there are no Rarestone or Emma&Jordi morphs for G9, I'll probably (hopefully) do considerably less twiddling and fiddling to get a main G9 girl.
Nice new character Eydis.
Whoa! A Bluejaunte appreciation section! How cool. Really loving Eydis and have three images already done with her. Just... the gallery is broken once again as they "upgrade" it. I no longer am a developer at the grind, but when I was, we always swapped from a tested test environment to a live one in one day. How can it be that every update has been slow, often taking months, and still botched in so many ways. Sorry, had to rant for a second.

I always try to make a little story for the renders. Just a thing I've always liked doing. Short story in the link above.
NAILED IT! As usual for you, but this was so nice. The golden postwork was a nice touch too. Your story drew me in, then at the end twisted my mind: "A promise neither of them knew she could keep," rather than, "A promise both of them knew she couldn't keep." Bravo!
Sucks that they are killing the gallery. It's like a managed decline.
Yeah, it's unfortunate to say the least. xyero thank you so much! You are always so kind to everyone and I appreciate it.
Your work and your posting of it is the value of these sites. Thanks for your consistency. And congratulations on long-term love; so few find and maintain it. Even soulmates can hit a wall. Love, loyalty, and forgiveness are the actual currency and criteria of this game, but this world sells us ephemera to make the winners feel like losers. You're winning, my friend.
They Know (Part 1)

Used Eydis HD with Expression for Genesis 9
STORY (Part 1 of 5 I believe):
The silence of the station was a frequency Eydis couldn't tune out. To her, "waiting" wasn't just time passing. It was a precise, data driven catalog of Martin's absence. She sat beneath the digital mural of their home, feeling the hollow weight of being a person who was currently missing her other half.
A heavy huff broke the quiet.
Baxter didn't understand the complexity of her processors, but he knew the scent of a lonely heart. He climbed onto the couch, his breathing a rhythmic, messy contrast to the station’s mechanical hum. With a solemn grunt, he nudged his matted, neon parrot onto her lap, a clumsy offering of his most prized possession.
Eydis looked at the toy, then into Baxter’s dark, unwavering eyes. The ache didn't vanish, but it softened. She wasn't just an android in standby mode; she was a living soul, anchored to the stars by a dog who refused to let her be alone.
