Please keep fingers crossed that my credit card actually posts my payment so I can upgrade membership while Astaroth is still in the free selection. Then I can spend time (re-)examining my feelings about the new character's bundle.
Wouldn't surprise me, it happens so often, & not just with MM. Was '25 or '24 The Year MM Wouldn't Go Away & Stay Away? This year, it would make me happy, because there is stuff I've had to hold off on getting.
It was last year. I remember just about beating my head on the desk going "please just let it end" because it was doing absolutely nothing for me. Was so grateful when it FINALLY did because at least then there was the chance of decent stacking sales or SOMETHING. (And then they kept resurrecting it, like the dead thing in a movie that won't stay dead no matter how many times you shoot it.)
This year, I dunno. Opened with a bang, I got some great bargains, had one more day in there where things went well for me, and fizzled. So as things stand I won't miss it when it ends, but I'm also I'm fine with it going a bit longer if it spreads out the love for others. I do look forward to not needing to pay attention to spreading out my QG buys to keep up the stars.
They always seem to outstay their welcome these days, don't they? If it wasn't for all the sub-$2.00 deals on G8 stuff it would have been a much, much meh-er March Meh-ness for me, so I can only wonder how those who are focusing on G9 these days were feeling with everything from 2025 being essentialy excluded. What's really left me cold about the continuing de-evolution of what was once one of the best sales of the year, though, is how few PAs seemed to be actively participating with new products this year, resulting in the Featured Artist categories seeming to be the same handful of artists cycled over and over again, which, when coupled with the above mentioned fact that almost every promotion was restricted to items released in 2024 or earlier, eventually made it pointless to even look at those stores as there was never, ever anything new, just the same old list of stuff I'd passed on umpteen times already.
That's what I'm anticipating too. Along with some credit-draining flash sales and one more ish giftcard offer (perhaps the best offer available going into the storewide finale.)
Out of store credit with yesterday's Zeddicuss flash sale and today's stacking promotionals. Got a great cart with the 2 new mermaid bundles and premier/tokens/goldstar, 2 still mad (effectively freebies), freebie mermaid textures, cherrypicked items from categories. Tried to spread out my MM buys to avoid too much hoarding/chaos toward the end, been a good strategy this year.
The year before the last was similar, and I think it was that 2024 or maybe 2023 when March Madness was returning well into May...
I'm kind of happy. I got to spend my coupons early, and I was happy with what I got, and buying stars didn't turn out too cumbersome with the selection of QC and mad artists items that got cheaper with the existing stars... And it was all the stuff I wanted anyway, so it didn't feel like I had to pay to just play.
As for the MM itself, I woudn't mind it sticking around for longer. Why? Because when it ends, we will be back to the regular days with new release being plain 30% off and being buy-ins for lukewarm promotions ("get 50% off full price with 2 new releases!" anyone?). On the other hand, if it doesn't stick around, maybe my wallet will get some break until the Daz+ sale in June... There are some things I didn't get back in December that I wouldn't mind getting at a discount. ;)
I've run out of Mad Door Prizes on my wishlist. Speaking of wishes, I wish they would have done more to shake up the list every few days, instead of leaving it unchanged for the entire month.
Was it ever determined whether the couple days where double punches were advertised in banners meant that double punches were ending? I lost track of all that.
I think that was simply the DAZ store text writer being unable to clearly say what they were trying to say.
@Cybersox Thanks! I was curious.
I think a lot of us feel that way. There was an aura of just doing the bare minimum wafting around this whole sale...
....just hope it doesn't end with a whimper.

...yeah felt the same about the Mad Artist's selections as well.
Aside from finding one or two wishlist items in the Door Prize category, pretty much little interest in what was there as a fair amount was old content.

...save for the Star discounts, much of the month it seemed like "just another Daz sale" requiring a new release buy in (sometimes more than one) to get a decent discount or special deal. Seen better MM events in the past.

That's the perfect way to put that. I did appreciate that it wasn't brain-breakingly complicated, but the new release buy-in had me out for for even considering any day there wasn't a catch-up, since the selection of WL items popping up in Mad Artists was so sparse. And there weren't any door prizes I was inspired to get at $2. The gold star discount was great for the days I did go on a spree, but since it doesn't work on QG, it was useless for the vast majority of days.
But the days that worked for me worked well, so no complaints there.
...OK, now that is more like it.
Cleared three Stonemason sets (2 of which qualified as "still new") off my wishlist for just under 13 USD (used 4 tokens and my March PA coupon that I've been hanging onto for just such an occasion),.
Glad the sale popped something that worked for you! Congrats on your score!
Yes, there were a few days (especially later in the month) where new releases were required for any good offer, but there were also offers that didn't or where they were discounting each other and still news on top of that, making buy-ins in the range of $4-9 instead of usual $+16 and that's without tokens and on Daz+, not Premier. And even without new releases, just with stars, some of the mad artist items were quite low.
And this month I got some Stonemason sets for under $4 (without tokens and not the super old ones) which I don't think I could ever achieve with "just another Daz sale." ;)
Looks like we've got an answer. This weekend's sale says "Final Weekend In March", which would imply there will be another weekend in April.
If we're fortunate, they're only stating the obvious.
I was hoping for some of the MM releases, like RawArt's, to be back on New/Sill New status. On second thought, maybe I should be hoping there's a little more to come.
I thought it was refreshingly forthright that they didn't do the usual declaration that the sale was ending when they had no intention of actually ending it.
(Of course, watch, now it'll actually end this time...)
...if one uses G9 along with the 30% star bonus yes there are a number of chances to get something that will be used to unlicj the extra discounts. Having got off the G9 train shortly after it left the station, the "New" selection tends to be pretty slim. Yes there are maybe a couple other interesting items, like sets and such, but often they are the hoigher priced items so they still end up above 10 USD even with both the "new" and the 30%.Star discount,
Basically two of the Stonemason items I got Friday that were on my list just happened to be in the "Still New" category with a 40% discount. Add the 30% Star discount and 50% for having two in the cart (they basically discounted each other along with the third one) and for me it was indeed a rare situation
Picked up his Abandoned Industry today as it has a 40% discount (which it didn't have Friday) for under 10 USD using no tokens.
Think I can take a break now.
Ooo! Page 100! New thread soon!
...ah, nothng like that new thread smell.
Fresh pixels in the morning. =P
Will they be drama flavored or great sale flavored? ;)
Bah. This wasn't there yesterday: Minimum price after discount: $2.99.
Yes. The answer is yes. =P
So I guess Daz is excluding New items from the WL promo but doesn't want to say so? Again? <Drama queen sigh> Messed up my buying plans.
I see that as well, but in my cart only the Newly Mad item ($3.60) and one WL item ($3.28) are over the stated minimum price after discount. Everything else is $2.51 or less. I do have a Gold Star, and Premier, and 3 tokens applied.
