Anyone know what could be causing these artifacts on toes? SOLVED
I have a weird problem with one of my models, every time I render i get these weird artifacts on toes, almost like there are extra toenails growing out. Its not visable in my veiwport, doesn't show up on any of the veiwport modes, fillament, iray, text shaded, ect. In wire frame there is no visible extra geometry or planes. I've put down a new model zoomed in toes normal, copied my figure to the new one toe problem came back, I switched skin materials, clicked every reset/zero nail option i have reset all feet shape perameters and its still there no toenail geoshells so idk I am a total loss.
SOLVED: I posted on the daz reddit as well and we ended up figuring out it there. it was an HD morph, a navel one i believe from this pack (https://www.daz3d.com/hd-essentials-nipples-and-navels-for-genesis-9) it was under waist and the parameter was LNA\_bs\_Navel08\_HD05 zeroed it and fixed.

Did you use a smoothing modifier to make the feet react to the floor?
Or, you may try hiding the geometry of Toenails with Geometry Editor (by toggling the eye icon of Surface > Toenails in Tool Settings pane), then check if the artifacts disappear... ?
Bugs on an HD morph are the worse kind of bug because we can't solve them ourselves while waiting for an official fix.
If you have the time, you should open a ticket to ask for a fix:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/hc/en-us
From what I could see, the problem will happen with every or close to every HD5 morph included in that product: it's more or less visible depending on which morph is dialed. The only one I'm not sure have the problem is the fourth masculine nipples morph.
HD4 version doesn't seem to have the same problem, so you can use the HD4 version instead.
Damn thats crazy, you have this pack as well? Or is it a presistent problem known with it? I'd assume if it was presistent the author would have gotten a few tickets for a fix, reguardless when i get the time I will put in a ticket if not for a fix for myself then to at least let the author know its a problem that is occuring. I didn't even notice it at first as all my renders with the model had her farther back, or she had shoes on lol
Thanks again everyone!
When using it, my guess is that people are looking at the chest or navel of a character, not their feet, and I suppose when the PA and Daz QA tested it, they were also looking at these areas.
It's also not equally visible on all characters: after you shared the solution, I checked with a couple of characters (Victoria 9, Michael 9, Hanako 9 and Genesis 9 Base). On some of them, it's barely visible while it's the most visible on Victoria 9 among them.
