No Luck for the Irish?

No luck for the Irish? First year ever for me at DAZ that St Paticks day is invisible.

Edit: Why my Mom named my brother Danny and me Juanita I will never know. I was born in Newfoundland, a remote Canadian island that holds a deep, distinct Irish heritage, often called "the most Irish place in the world outside of Ireland". Ironically Danny was born on March 17th.

Granted, there has never been a Black History month promotions so I can appreciate the missing sale.

Not quite invisible, as we have this 50% off flash sale. https://www.daz3d.com/great-green-gathering

I doubt you will be impressed.

Now that really sucks! DAZ marketing manager needs to get his/her act together.

You got that right. My most recent career (and hubby's for a decade longer than me) was hired payroll marketing consultants for a fortune 500 company and I can assure you this is the lamest comeback/damage-control effort I have ever seen!

I only remember a couple of years that actually had St Patrick's Day products at all. It was a missing element from the "holiday" selection of DAZ Originals 3D products at DAZ until a few years back. Christmas was basically mostly M.I.A most years until a few years back, Thanksgiving is still mostly M.I.A from a DAZ Originals perspective, Easter, M.I.A., Nativity, M.I.A., July 4th, M.I.A., Halloween, all year long practically, Valentine's all year long practically, New Years', M.I.A, Mother's Day, M.I.A, Father's Day, M.I.A.

However, once those Holiday 3D model DOs have been added to the catalogue it's probably not profitable to add slight variations to the theme every year.

While I have trouble caring if they skip a religious holiday (of any religion, including mine), doing the secular ones would at least break up the Same Stuff, Different Day monotony that tends to dominate. Wouldn't even have to be new assets; they can highlight what's already out there. (Though with how stereotypically gender-based a lot of stuff is around here, I think I'd personally prefer they skip Mothers/Fathers day sales.)

I think DAZ should bring Steve Spencer back and ditch whoever they have now

Edit (as marketing not ecommerce) Loren McClure  is not as good.

How cool. I was born August 9th in 1956 which is Nationals Women Day (South Africa) commemorating a 1956 march.

I guess it is hard to celebrate every culture for all events but as a US company DAZ does seem to observe most Fed Holidays . . . maybe not Inauguration Day,  Washington's Bday, Juneteenth Day or Columbus Day . . . can't please all the people all of the time,

Yes, holidays are fun and to look forward to, and bring a different angle to the store. In the US, New Year's, Christmas, St Patrick's Valentine's 4th of July, Hallloween, Easter, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's Day are all secular iin nature. Well, at least in the way they're treated publically & by commercial interests.

Heck, it doesn't even have to be a big one to be fun. Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day in the US; goodness knows there are enough coffee shops and such in the store that they could throw together something around that.

...ah, my favourite day of the year.

BTW August is National Coffee Month.

Daz has yet to release a Steampunk and a Cyberpunk coffee shop.

Well, it looks like they put this bundle on sale March 9 and 10 - according to the Daz Deals graph. I don't recall seeing it as such in the store back then.

Yes, that would be fun. They should pick the these sort as well, and I'm sure there must be a day for policemen, firemen, dooctors, nurses, but strangely not politicians. wink

  • I fully support International Women's Day, BUT...Considering what Daz thinks female-presenting librarians wear*, combined with the gazillion 3d outfits that barely cover the Naughty Polygons, I shudder to think of what a Women's Day promo might look like.

On a more serious & fair note, Daz did observe it once, and it wasn't bad. In 2023, they gave away the Mabel 8 figure. It was a tie-in to a Women's Day contest, although you didn't need to enter to get Mabel.

There is the 2020 https://www.daz3d.com/frontline-heroes-bundle for G2/3/8 honoring medical, EMS, & firefighting personnel. It has props & environments too. Most/all of the components were older items bundled to fit the theme. (I don't know if the Red Cross donation mentioned on the product page is ongoing.)

*I show the staff at the local library, where I volunteer, any new Daz Librarian outfits. We all get a good laugh.

I remember back in 1972 when I was 15 (Anglican) I married a guy 19 (Catholic) who got his first teaching position for high-school in St. Lawrence NL  I volunteered for the library. We would have been shocked (especially the nuns). Bet the rosaries would have been twirling.

I've often mentioned what the ladies where here down under here and often get crucified here saying about the revealing stuff worn but it's true high heels/boots, miniskirts, flimsy skirts, open blouses, transparent clothing nurses used to wear white dresses you could see through, tight clothing and all ages wore/wear it too. Guys too walk through supermarket topless. And some of the products sold here are tame compared to what is sold in stores online here and in stores as well as the advertising for them on tv here

it's funny since there have been several star characters released recently they could have combined in some bundle with some other products that could have fitted the theme unless it was considered un pc worried of someone complaining like Peter D when Snow White was being made
