Venice Mask - Download Free 3D model by DailyArt (@D.art) [4aace12]
A most beautiful mask!
I transfered the .fbx file to an .obj file using an online program.
I imported the obj into Daz Studio 4.24.
I started with a base PVC map from Pd Iray Shader Kit 1 | Daz 3D. Excellent product for a starting base.
I applied the most obvious base map, which was the face part of the mask. That just turned a shiny brown. Then I remembered once I had to adjust one of the bases with a tiling change because the base texture was too large using Daz Studio as the render engine.
Well, I have done numerous things now to apply the textures that come with this mask.
Do any of you have any experience with these models that are in other formats and how to use the textures?
Thank you so much for your help!

it is UV mapped and choosing lambert 1001 for lambert1 etc works
a lot of bits and surfaces
Oh, my goodness...I used an online program to convert to an obj and the surface names were totally different!
I thought, somehow you are seeing original surface names...I imported the FBX file into DS, which I did NOT know it would do!!!
Thank you so much!!!
I am well on my way to applying all of the textures.
Learn something new everytime I open Daz Studio!! What a powerful piece of software!!!
rigged animated FBX files mostly import too in the past years versions of DAZ Studio
they updated it a while back
This is excellent :)
Wow! so glad I came across this post Jan, that mask is amazing, thank you for putting the link to it!
I made a G8F version out of itby importing the .FBX then selecting all individual pieces below the Group 19 and Exported them All as an .obj at 1000% Scale to a temp folder, then brought them back in at 100% Scale as One Geometry. Also a good fit for it on a Dev load G8F was:
Y Translate = 136.3097
Z Translate = 9.476129
X Rotate= -12.09374
and then change it's parent to the Head Bone saved it out as a new Prop (Figure/Asset)
(for anyone else who wants to make one for the G8F)
I saved mine out as a new Prop (Figure/Asset) after getting all the Textures Applied (I also converted all the .PNGs to .JPG's to make it a lighter load... Of Course it does look better with PNG's but I'm happy with JPGs) so now I have a have another Mask for the Ball!
Jeez... I think I need to start uploading at 1024x1024.... that is ALOT bigger then I expected for a 2048x2048 lol
they can be resized and 700 doesn't break the forum formatting
Nice! Thank you for the tip Wendy ;)
Looks much better at that size, instead of exploding on the screen lol
Guys, this is just wonderful!! I will come back to this later and take notes!!
Thank you so much!!
