Wish it will be easy to get back AI stuff (characters, environment etc.) back to Daz Studio.

Bit by bit, inch by inch it's getting there, I think. I imagine that in a year or three we'll either be able import AI models into DAZ, or into some 3D software we'll be using instead of DAZ.

I mentioned above about taking my 2D characters and making 3D models from them for printing and animating in a game I'm working on. They can also be imported into DAZ Studio, in partially-rigged mode as well as being exported in Blender format.

To demonstrate, I posed one of my 2D Young Space Captains in a T-stance and imported him into Meshy:

then exported him as an FBX and imported him into Mixamo:

I exported him from Mixamo as an FBX again (sounds a little circular, but it just gives me better imports into DAZ with rigging that works) and import him into DAZ Studio, rigging intact:

as shown by the character's bones being bent or rotated to pose him:

It's primitive but quick rigging that works, I'm sure someone who actually knows what they're doing (not me) could export into Blender and get a much more useable figure fairly quickly.

I've also attached a quick little 2D landscape that I've imported into Meshy to convert to 3D, then export as an FBX and imported into DAZ Studio.

So, far from being able to sketch a character in a painting program and importing as a full-blown 3D character in DAZ Studio, but we're getting there...

Thank you very much for this explanation and workflow. I need to test it myself.

    Impressive results - well done.

Thanks; for what it's worth, I used the latest DAZ 2026 BETA and all of the settings were the defaults.

The absolute worst aspect of using Meshy like this is the texture maps, they're almost 100% uneditable.

Here's the main texture map for that landscape:

    And for the character:

@wsterdan: what AI program are you using?

At the moment I'm using Nano Banana Pro via Openart.ai for most of my better images. I used Flux Pro last year to create my custom toon style for taking DAZ character renders and making custom toon characters. I use Meshy to convert the 2D characters into 3D mesh for 3D printing and 3D animated characters for game programming.

I've found that the latest version of NB Pro does an excellent job of maintaining consistent characters; you have the option in OpenArt of creating a custom character model, but with NB Pro I find just using the single reference image of a character (or 5) results in very consistent renders. The images used in the comic test page only had one image of the female and one of the male but managed to generate a dozen consistent frames with only one very slight change (not seen, but one shot of the male character had a couple of small flaps or lights on his back).

Always fun stuff! What part is the Dynamic Auto Painter? To be honest, I've never heard of it.

    the painterly effect

it generates brush strokes and applies them to images in the style of various artists and techniques

    just wow!

I'm now wondering what the Carrara Cube could do if I used any of these.... mind blown! surprise

Now *my* mind is blown! Any one of your myriad of original Carrara Crew would be a blast so see you play with with AI, not that they're not already mind-blowing...

Since there's no "Remixing your AI with DAZ" thread, I'll post here.

First, as described earlier, I usually start out with my DAZ characters rendred out, then run through a custom toon style to make them more original, then I use DAZ assets to outfit them with clothing, gear, vehicles, environments, etc..

I started out with two of my more "comic book" styled characters and dressed them in DAZ's/Gorodon's Concord Navy and Concord Pathfinders uniforms and put them to work fighting off Valandar's excellent reptilians for Genesis:

Then, I thought, they kinda look like two of my favourite DC superheroes from my younger days; luckily I own a mess of Mightmite's superhero assets, so I had them change to his Ultra Boy and his two Phantom Girl outfits:

I was discussing how I'm using different AI engines to use my DAZ Studio and Poser assets in new ways and it dawned on me that in essence, I'm now using AI as another render engine for my DAZ Studio models; instead of rendering my 3D characters and then jumping through hoops to get the cartoon or comic style that I'd like, my "AI Render Engine" saves me hours of tweaking, and as I build up my library of rendered resources (clothing, ships, etc.) and store the renders online, I'm now able to both do all the artwork I've been working on to do since I started with 3D in the 90s except now I can do it on my phone or iPad. Moreover, I'm able to use Comic LIfe's iPad version to make full comic pages.

It's funny, only a decade ago I was hoping DAZ would market the iPad version they were using to show what could be done with their stuff, now I don't need it.

A friend just cheekily wrote me, "They could definitely pass as Legionnaires  (But I am not sure if the ‘reptiles’ could pass as Legionnaires.)".

    My reply...

By the way the images from this post does not show up. They are just empty rectangles.

I have also noticed, how easy is to get fully rendered scenes with AI, just by describing them with words.

I have rendered in Daz Studio Ferro on the ride using:

    https://www.daz3d.com/xi-cyberpunk-superbike
    https://www.daz3d.com/xi-african-wildlands-graveyard

Then I have edited with AI

    and created a comic page.

Okay, new weirdness from the forums. I could see my post's images last night and when I checked them this morning, but I looked just now and they were gone. Probably something at my end, but I've re-uploaded them. Now, lame as it is, my cheeky response to my earlier images might make a *little* sense...

I'm on Windows desktop, 11 Pro and same issue.  The boxes are blank but the thumbnails open up in a new tab fully.  Weird software DAZ Forums are at times.

Hopefully they should be there now... if they are, you can tell me how the Legionnaires look to you.
