Welcome back, barbult!
Great. Enjoy.
Welcome back (did you check for black-and-white stowaways?)
Tuxedo cats, distant relatives of yours?
Just wanted to let you know I just started my new web site.
https://ronknights.org/
I had a stumbling start because I had not done a web site in almost 20 years.
I tried some YouTube videos, and they were totally useless.
I decided to strike out on my own. I got two whole pages started so far.
This site will share my DAZ Studio and Acrylic art work. It will also feature a blog, and links to any of my upcoming YouTube videos.
It will be a one-stop shop.
Thanks. My suitcase was way too full for any stowaways to fit. The cruise company provided each passenger with a very warm bright green parka that we could take home at the end of the cruise. It won't find much use in Florida, though. I did glance around the hallways of the ship for any ginger cats that might have come on board, in case you decided to join us on the cruise, but I didn't see any, sadly.
Pity. In my imagination, you have found them.
Green Parka...
Love the image of the ship's cats, though.
Regards,
Richard
Thanks. Wish I could recreate such scene in Daz Studio.
What color of parka would be more appriopriate?
I was just thinking Barbult said she'd got a green one & the one in your image is blue to me, but maybe my eyes are funny. Anyway, not an issue.
Regards,
Richard
Good catch. I missed it.
So here I am on the ground, in my green parka and black life jacket. Three expedition guide members are attending to me. The expedition guides were at my side almost instantly. They radioed the ship about a medical emergency and sent the nurse over in a zodiac. The woman holding my camera and watching for the nurse is the cruise director. A couple looky-loos are observing. The penguins don't seem very interested. The expedition guides sat me up and inspected my head, after asking the normal questions of do I know my name and where I am. I passed that test. There was no skin damage to my head. Then they stood me up and the nurse arrived. She checked my pupils, which were the same (good), I was not dizzy (good). My vision was only blurry because I had removed my glasses (OK). So I passed, and was given instructions to call reception on the ship if I got headaches or started vomiting. (I didn't).
I think what happened was that I was crouching down to photograph a penguin and lost my balance, falling backwards.
I hope, that everything is ok with you, @barbult
My imagination was far away from this time point,
so it suggests me that something like pictured below could happened.
Ooch. Glad it didn't come to very much.
But.. to be that close to wild Penguins and it looks like a (Elephant?) Seal to the top left, what a privilege.
Regards,
Richard
As cats go mostly their own ways...
We saw thousands of penguins of various kinds. I believe you are right about that being an elephant seal in the background. There were hundreds or thousands ot fur seals and several elephant seals at various stops.
Yes, I think you are right about that.
Good that they were so attentive, if perhaps a little irritating to experience.
I felt very cared for. They were great!
Here are some photos from Godthul on South Georgia Island. We did a zodiac cruise (no landing) there. I had to reduce the size of the photos significantly to get the forum to upload them. I don't klnow what the size limits are for this forum.
There are Elephant Seals, King Penguins, and Fur Seals.
Here are some photos from Jason Harbour on South Georgia Island. We did a landing there. There are Lots of King Penguins, Fur Seals.
They look as if they are finding the tourists amusing
and that is just adorable - and obviously mugging for the camera
So fantastic. Thank you for sharing. The amount of vegetation is a bit more than I expected, but still obviously way south of the tree line.
I think the forum allows uploads of around 5Mb, though you've got some of 6Mb-ish. Certainly doesn't allow 10Mb as I've found the hard way with trying to upload freebies.
Regards,
Richard
Thank you very very much, @barbult for posting such amazing photos.
Great photos - thank you for posting them. I love the yawning seal and the little one Richard flagged up. Also the penguins - I've only seen them in zoos and they look so much cleaner and brighter in the wild.
Looks like your glasses survived also... When mom fell she scratched the whole left lense.. silly girl still wears them.. scratches n all... and we bought her NEW! lol. At 87... we are letting her wear what she wants.. You DON"T argue with mom! LOL... glad you are ok... hugzzzzzzzz
Ok.. so now a Daz creator needs to make a seal... pups... penquins...etc etc.. so we can all have our Dazrtic adventure!!! lol
Not any more, See that's penguins for you.. raveouus beasts. That's why they won't let you touch the ground .. in case you leave a scent trail back to the tasty humans.
