I think you missed my original point, which was the horrible marketing. Do I love how much skimpwear is here? No. But that's beside the point. They're marketing this as Valentine's Day, and if you look at how the holiday itself is generally advertised, and how most people celebrate it, there's a disconnect. If they're going to do Yet Another Fetish Sale, they're gonna do it, but at least be forthright and accurate with what it is. If they're going to have a Valentine's Sale, include things most people associate with the day. And even if someone's going to go with "oh, but it's Valentine's lingerie!"... there's nothing about it that's really any different than what comes out any other day of the year.

I have the same issue with poses and expressions marketed as feminine/masculine, or environments marketed as medieval when there are freaking electric lights in them. Make whatever you're gonna make, sell what you're gonna sell, but call it what it is.

That Daz has a poor track record with marketing isn't new. Also, they can only sell what the PAs submit to them. It is expected there will be a valentine's sale around this time of year. Could this be the best they could do? We'll find out over the next two days, I guess.

On a related marketing issue, they shouldn't have the sale for valentine's day this week. It should have been a month ago, may be more, so people would have time to purchase the assets and use them in time for the day. But I digress.

Some tests of various things using her HD.

^ I do like a lot of that PA's hairs, but this one is a hot mess.

There's a little bit of rib detail in the sculpt, which I appreciate. Otherwise pretty standard, as you guys have stated. The hourglass shape adds nothing you couldn't dial in yourself with about 3 clicks. (The tanned skin is currently missing from this download, I've lodged a ticket.)

Those lips are hard to pose and the sharp upturned corners remind me of the effect you get from a facelift pulling everything up. (No judgment, Leona - I'd get one too if I could!)

From her bedroom, I think she must be a self-published author: the books on the shelf are multiples of the same addition.

I've not tried any of them, but there are a few carpet shaders:

Core figures bundles are under Daz control and their releases so far shows that they can have a lot of variety, thematically wise.

The fluffy rugs are very nice, if someone wants a fluffy carpet. The only downside is that they are not using Omnihair shader but otherwise, it's great (I suppose it should be possible to convert it to Omnihair, but, and it's a me problem, I have yet to understand how to properly do it).

Yes, where is that set and accesories for depicting the Matyrdom of Valentine, which is, of course, what the holiday was originally meant to observe? ( smiley)

The thing is, most of the stuff that people associate with Valentine's Day (at least here in North America) is unlikely to sell well in the DAZ store... how many people would buy a model of a Valentine's card, for example, while many of the more obvious niche products are already represented by multiple products already available (chocolates, flowers, stuffed animals, glamour-shots photoshoot props,   etc., etc,) so that the introduction of yet another one is unlikey to be worth the PAs time creating it. Places to go like clubs, nightclubs, a restaurant or a special romantic date location? Plenty of them already.  Heck, there's even a props and pose set for a girl who didn't get invited out downing her sorrows by scarfing down an entire box of chocolates.

So, honestly, in this case, I have to admit that I acutally have some sympathy for the DAZ Marketing people, as I imagine that it's hard to get PAs to get excited about doing yet another product that will sell for one or two days a year and then disappear into the darkest recesses of the DAZ store catalog.  Now, a better question is why they decided to pitch Leona 9 as a lingerie model and, having done so, how they missed the obivious tie-in to having a set that made her an Only Fans model or a TikTok influencer and having a phone with aa ringlight and tripod, portable backdrop, etc.  Oh, and for gosh sakes, since it's obvious that two of the outfits included in the L9 bundles are dominatrix inspired while the third is pure bondage gear, why not lean into that with an acessory kit that includes fuzzy handcuffs, a riding crop, etc.?

They did that last year with Elena 9, and the year before with the Marley and Herlinda Mega Bundle.

No idea if it would sell, but they could do a 'Anime/Manga' Valentine bundle, either with a realistice japanese figure or a Filatoon one (which would add to the current selection of Filatoon characters), playing on the trope of girls and women in mangas / anime spending time either buying or making home-made chocolate for the person they love, building around cooking poses, props and clothes.

And then, a month after, for White day, they could release a bundle with a masculine character (likewise, either a realistic or Filatoon) with whatever men are supposed to do to thank women who offered them chocolate on Valentine day (it's not as present in mangas compared to Valentine day stuff though).

Edit: with something like that, but for cooking chocolate:

You pointed out the store has plenty of stuff tied to US Valentine's Day like flowers, candy, greeting cards, restaurants as a reason Daz would/should offer something else for Valentine's Day. Considering how many skimpy, kinky outfits are already here - especially since the great influx of artis from another site - perhaps Daz could have come up with some other aspect, maybe traditional fantasy. After all,  this is the second year in a row ( at least) that Daz has done  lingerie and dominatrix themed character & add-on bundles for St. Val's.

Remember https://www.daz3d.com/elena-9 from about this time last year? Lessee, Elena''s character bundle includes red lingerie, Dominatrix (minus the vowels LOL) poses, and a set of "toys" (including the fuzzy handcuffs you want). The add-on includes two (!), skimpy kink-wear outfits and a Love Hotel. Not that different from Leona's 3 skimpy kink-wear outfits, a gothic indoor set, & Temptress poses, is it?

You're missing the fact that there's one major difference between yet another group of skimpwear and something specifically Valentine's themed:  clearly, the skimpwear sells reasonably well and everyday, as the PAs keep making and selling it, whereas something specifically themed for Valentine's day has both a narrower target market and a reduced window of optimum times to push them in, complicated by the fact that if you're introducing NEW items that duplicate the content of older products, then running a themed sale of that older product at the same time only makes the new items even less likely to be sold until next year at 1/3rd the price of the new ones.  (It's the same reason, I imagine, that DAZ gave up on St. Patrick's Day sets, as there are only so many leprechaun suits and pots of gold one is likely to ever have need for.)  By comparison, again, a new skimpwear outfit is much more likely to continue selling after the product is released, which gives it a much longer revenue stream, thereby making it something that a PA is more likely to want to invest their time in creating.

And as for the previous Dominatrix thed bundles released the last two years, yes, I totally forgot about those because I rarely use g9 products on G9 anymore.  Soi, even though I own all the bundles and regularly use the clothes, props, sets, etc., I use the figures much less...  Sorry, I just don't like G9 in general (and I wasn't crazy about g8.1 either.) That said, the fact that this is not the first time they've run through that same marketing idea does seem to demonstrate one thing:  it obviously worked well for those previous releases, as if they hadn't I doubt that DAZ would keep repeating the same idea.

1 - yes, I didn't remember that last years set and the previous years set were very similar to this years.  G9 has been a contiguous blur of unmemorable character releases for me so even while I bought those sets I don't associate the items with the characters.  Still, as I noted in the reply above, the fact that DAZ did something similar and is doing it again would tend to verify that it's been a sucessful sales strategy for them.

    2. As for doing something focused on the Japanese variant of Valentines day and White Day, it's interesting but really niche, to the point where I'm not sure how many people would be interested enough to spend current DAZ prices for them, especially for something focused on the White day half of the equation, as even in Japan it's a distant runner up to Valentines in terms of popularity, with the majority of males NOT giftng anyone for it versus the majority of younger females gifting someone on Valentines.

Oh yeah, well we now know that must of been a big seller! I guess we'll never get a more tame and traditional Valentine's Day bundle.

"and" is also possible instead of "or". Today was anime and toon day and yet no filatoon love.

Well, to be fair, despite the advertising and being released around the same time as Valentines, these were all figure bundles, not specifically "Valentines" bundles, and can you really say "never" when there are already oaround a dozen Valentine's Day bundles in the store?  I'm just really hard pressed to think of something that hasn't already been done, especially when there are other dating situations that have yet to be covered.  Example: while there are several prom props and dresses, there's no prom date set with a corsage, etc., and I don't think there's been a new tuxedo since Genesis 8, and I really can't believe that no one has made a "lover's lane" type scenario with a parked car and poses yet.  (Okay, there IS a pose set at Renderotica, but it's, well, what you'd expect from Renderotica...surprise  ).

Does 'she' storm off, to a backing-track sung by Meatloaf, only to be gruesomely murdered by a pack of viscous rabbits incredibly vexed that their peaceful habitat has (yet again) been invaded by amorous humans?!

Not that I'm aware of, but I imagine that "mauling campers" is probably Cockney rhyming slang for something very impolite :)

Daz has fixed the texture for the add-on figure.

Boring comparison render attached. Premier shape Leen, Leona 9 HD, and the Hourglass add on with tanned skin.

Thanks for this additional render!  I think default Leona compares really well with the optional shapes.

    I would 100% buy these.

I would lso buy a Monty Python and the Holy Grail-style rabbit. Just in case someone is looking for a new horror idea. =P

I appreciate the comparison. I wish I could access the Premier shapes, but I'm locked into Plus for another four years alas. Leen looks nice though. I got Leona, the HD and Hourglass because I liked the face and texture.
