Painterly Style Punk Hair [Released]

I wanted to dip my toes back into stylised hair again with : https://www.daz3d.com/painterly-style-punk-hair-for-genesis-9 And I think it came out alright!

It's still a pretty niche genre but I do enjoy it. I hope you folks do too

I'd love to know what you think!

I like this style, both the hair and the character; I think it's more appealing than the TOON series.

I love that you are making this style for hair!! Please keep going! I hope maybe you may consider creating some long hair options too.
Perhaps even a pack to reshade current hair to have the painterly look. That would be amazing if it is a possibility.

I bought it simply because the style sang to me and the shades lightened my heart. Thank you for this lovely item @Censored.

Originally these styles were going to be made in FilaToon but I undeniably have a preference for Iray and there was something with the Cutout maps that just weren't playing nice in FilaToon, unfourtunatly. The character is just my Asha Toon rendered in Iray which I thinks works quiet well (if I do say so myself)

I'm certainly considering a longer hair style but unfourtunatly this sort of hair isn't the most finacially stable style of product - I have to say. So it's more of a passion product that I have to fit around other things really.

Who knows - maybe a longer style would do better!

In terms of a shader; the look of the hair is largely dictated by the sculpted forms so a shader applied to, say, normal Geo hair unfourtunatlky wouldn't output the same. If you see what I mean? If only!

I probably can't use it, but I really like it, so I grabbed it anyway. Maybe I find a set of materials sometime that makes it look a little less solid, or maybe it will work at some distance with some odd lighting. Or maybe I need some more comic-like render to use on a prop in yet another render. Basically, I have no idea what to do with it yet, but I just know I won't regret it.

Awww, I'm glad to hear it! Figuring out what style to go for is half the gamble aha

I don't know what to say - I feel bad you bought it without necessarily being able to use it but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also a little happy. I was worried this won't be something folks liked, stylistically.

What I would say is I'm not sure how much it might break it (make the roots visable and look janky) but if you extend the cutout map and maybe squidge/double it you may get a little more of a fluffy whispy look?

And here it is converted to FilaToon! :)

I got the cutout to play nice with PBR threshold set to .055.
