DAZ genesis 9 T-pose

I'm looking for a T-pose. I use genesis 9. Why are there no poses anywhere in existance for a T-pose? Makes no sense to me. How can I get them in a PERFECT t-pose so no issues with bones/animations for Blender/Unity. T-Pose is standard for bones/animations in these softwares usually depending on what you use. I don't make the rules. in my case, I need the t-pose.

If you're looking for a perfect T-pose, you can create it. You can even control the angles formed by the arms and legs, and even save it.

However, the concept of a T-pose has never been defined in 3D. For arms, the angle could potentially reach 90°. But for legs, it's problematic. Perfectly vertical legs aren't suitable for rigging and fitting. In fact, with this configuration, the thighs of larger body types are likely to become tangled in the axial plane.

Even horizontally positioned arms aren't ideal. Because if you calculate weights in this configuration, the garment will deform too much at the shoulders when the body is placed in its normal position.

For all these reasons, Daz Studio offers a zero pose, which is the ideal pose for rigging and fitting.

Moved to Technical Help as it is a content, rather than a Daz Studio application, question.

Don't think I've heard of a zero pose in daz, or seem anything like that in the library? or is it a button you press? I only say what I say because Unity requires a Tpose otherwise animations don't work properly otherwise.

A zero pose is one where every bone's rotations (eg up-down, side-side & twist) is set to zero. You will find many pose sets have a 'zero' pose included to act as a 'cancel last pose' . The pose below is the 'zero' pose I included in the G9 walking pose set here.

It does mean, if you download lots of poses, you end up with lots of zero poses... Which will all be the same.

    Regards,

    Richard

  • Yes. The DUF files for zero poses seem to average about 15-20 KB in size.
