Is there a way to get rid of G8 poses

Hi, I am new to Daz and only buy G9 stuff. I would like to declog my Content Library. Is there a way to get rid of the G8 poses in collections that have both G8 and G9 versions?

Thanks in advance

considering the fairly miniscule size of pose files

is it worth the effort to just not ignore them?

Poses can easily be converted, so it's usually worth keeping them even if you're not using the figure they were made for.

@n_alexandru was kind enough to share a free pose converter if you want to use Genesis 8 poses on Genesis 9:

Once converted, you'll usually have to tweak a pose a bit, like you would have to if you're using a pose made for Genesis 9 Base on, let's say, Olympia 9 or Michael 9, but if a pose for an older figure is what you want, converting it will save the time needed to create it yourself, or the money you'll have to spend to buy a Genesis 9 version.

Poses are funny things: they're probably the easiest thing to make yourself, but they also take a lot of time and micro tweaking to get just right. And, depending on resources and time, become something you either don't buy in the store, or you end up deciding on some favourite artists, and buy almost every set they release, even the ones for older figures, because it just might have that one perfect pose you will need some time, and you can always convert it when you do.

Good advice, but maybe not so relevant for the OP who stated they only buy G9 so would already have the G9 equivalents for any G8 poses they own.

delete the content of following folders to get rid of all G8 poses. you will have to repeat this each time you install new G8 poses.

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 8 Female\Poses

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 8 Male\Poses

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 8\Poses

That's true as far as it goes, but a couple of things pop to mind.  First, the origianl poster used the word declog, but pose sets, unless they contain expressions, usually take almost no time to process, and even if they did, a set of poses or expressions for G8 isn't going to cause any impediment at all when it comes to loading a G9 figure.  Second, there are far more pose sets available for G8 than G9... over a thousand more pose sets in the current DAZ store alone BEFORE factoring in sets made for G8.1 or all the vendors who made sets for G8 but are no longer selling here, and the lopsided ratio for G8 to G9 is even higher at all of the other 3D shops AND add to that the fact that many poses were designed to work with specific props and environments that are no longer "new" and will most likely never be rereleased with G9 equivalents, so the odds are that one is going to have to do some conversion work at somepoint.  Given how microscopic a pose set is in space in comparison to things like many of the new hair models and  environment from some of the resource devouring PAs, I just don't see the miniscule saving created by deleting all of one's G8 poses being worth the time-suck involved.

Re-reading the first message, I did miss that it was about removing Genesis 8 poses from Genesis 8 and 9 products blush
