Reduce the vertices of a model?

I have noticed that the hair models have many vertices, and I want to reduce them.

What method or how can I reduce them?

I assume that these hairs are strand based hairs. To my knowledge, you can't really change those. But if it has subD, you can lower that.

If it is polygonmesh you can use Decimator https://www.daz3d.com/decimator-for-daz-studio

But after decimation you must save it as a new object.

That'll depend on the type of hairs ... If you mean Base vertices, you have no way to reduce the Base vertices of a hair in DS ~

But if you mean Active vertices in Viewport, for a strand-based hair, Active count of vertices usually comes from the number of Line Tessellation Sides set on the hair. You can decrease the number of Tessellation Sides ~ For a Polygonal hair, you can decrease its SubD Level ~
