Heeding Lyoness's call, I went and made a pretty picture starring her Shadow Kin. Very lovely extensive set. (The cute dragon is OSO Pixie Dragon.) heart

I just need to put this out here because it's eating me up inside right now: I love Linday's hairs, but their promos have always been borderline p@rnographic, and with the latest product ( https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-classic-loose-curls-long-hair-for-genesis-9-8-and-81-female), the're moving even beyond that. The character looks so cartoonishly over-sexualized, botoxed and plain dumb that I feel personally insulted as a woman. I'm deleting their stuff from my WL for now, there needs to be a line somewhere.

Aside from the motif, I really can't even guess what the hair would look like on a normal character. Where's the sense in that? No seriously, this screw needs to be rewound a few notches. And it's not just Linday (Linday is just the one where it hurts cause I like their stuff so).

Did that after the Mediterrean Boat and Poses dropped. Made me puke. Not an attitude toward women I wish to encourage.

    yes

I was on the brink when that dropped. Usually, I would have purchased the boat right away cause it was so wellmade and I do love boats, but since it was coupled with these hideous poses, I stuffed it into the back of my WL  so to speak, for when it would be extremely discounted. Should have read the signs better, like you did. Even a single cent is too much encouragement here.

Yeah, I can't look at their promos too, even though the products are excellent, and in the end, I always put something else in the cart.

would they be less confronting if man and woman instead of same sex?

because honestly I don't see anything else different to other pose sets

I am personally not interested in pose sets myself and they don't worry me at all

yes the characters look like they have had lots of work done, that I agree

I don't want to jump on a bandwagon, but have to say I've been buying their hair despite the promo images, rather than because of them. And the clothing, I feel, does not remotely suit my less than curvy favourite character.

Linday are not the only ones. I did rather feel the 'IQ = Off' switch had been flicked with this P3Design promo:

    Regards,

    Richard.

Once you get used to the general oversexualization everywhere, Lindsay’s style reads more like an "always covergirl" approach in their promos. It reflects the same exaggerated realism found in games like GTA and isn’t meant to be interpreted literally, It largely depends on what the viewer sees.

I genuinely appreciate the lighting, the angles, and the environmental work in their promos, everything comes together like a professional photoshoot built purely to showcase a 3D product..

What I find far less appealing are the “lingerie on mannequin number 4000” promos: flat studio lighting, minimal effort, and nothing more.

I'm turned off by the marketing of products for Genesis 9 that are ostensibly something gender neutral and don't feature any male characters, or at least the base neutral shape, in the neutral product shots. I won't name them, but it's more often the case then not.

Conversely, I adore the ones that show me how "traditionally female" stuff looks on a guy! ChangelingChick always has makeup options for her gents, for example, and I respect that SO HARD. I don't wear makeup myself, but I fully support that anyone ought to be able to!

And if a masc-bodied individual wants in on that evening gown, they should absolutely own the heck out of it!

laugh 1000% agree, SilverGirl! Some of the PAs, like ChangelingChick, are so generously accommodating to those of us who want products which can be used for any gender. The ability to use any G9 product on any G9 character is the primary reason why I ported my regular characters over from G8. Many 'female' clothing items can be worn on a male body and look great, and I appreciate being able to do that with minimal distortion. And yeah, sometimes my boys want to wear a little makeup. Or my girls want to wear traditionally 'male' clothing. I love having those options. heart

That doesn't have anything to do with my post, and feels like you're minimizing my comment. But I'm glad you're able to see makeup on characters.

I agree with you too, Timbales. That's a peeve of mine too. We already get so much overtly female content that when something comes along which is advertised as being gender neutral, I want to see it modeled on a neutral base or both a male and female body, so I can assess if it's something I can use. More often than not, I need to use my imagination for that assessment. laugh

I'm sorry if you felt the comment was minimizing or not relevant -- that wasn't my intent. I agree with your point, my comment was more of an "but there are some who do it, and I wish others would be more like them" add-on. Apparently that was more apparent in my head than on the screen.
