What is 'General' considered? I downloaded the manual first thing and then looked back through the thread. I may be overthinking this. And I might just look at it again in the morning when I am fresh and hopefully working on all cylinders. (Faint hope.)
But is it open to my interpretation of how I work and group things for a project or frequently used products in most projects?
The General tab? Yeah that's a just a default tab that I named General. You can make any number of tabs and name them however you want. It's just for organizing. Or add everything to the General tab (which you can also rename by the way).
Does this work with Daz Alpha?
No. That has been asked and answered already in this thread. There are already plans to update this plugin when the time comes. The time has not come. PAs can't create plugins for DS 2025 Alpha until Daz releases an SDK, which they haven't done.
I know that this is a finished product and it is great as it it is. It really solves a problem for me.
But: Bluejaunte, should you ever decide to open it up again for a bugfix or something else I have a suggestion to make. A possibility to colour code an entry would make a great product perfect. For me at least.
Thank you!
I'm enjoying it so far, but I was curious why items in the 'Category' folder can't be mapped?
You can drag presets from Categories but those shelf items will navigate to the actual Content Library folder, not the category. Categories are just a different view to the same content. Basically like right-clicking on a preset in Categories and clicking Show Asset In Mapped Folder.
Why? Mostly technical limitations. Didn't seem like navigation to that view was exposed for me to hook into. But even it was possible I'm not sure I would've wanted to add such functionality as it would be kind of confusing to have presets go to two different places when Ctrl-clicking. And that folder would've made less sense to go to anyway since it wouldn't show you the product but a view of say all shoes. Also overlap with the Smart Content system which does the whole category thing.
bluejaunte I am wanting to get this but I must use 2025 because I have a 5090 (oh wooes me................) anyway
I do use Daz4 for building up scenes, which this could be helpful for - but right now I do all my management using Categories anyway (though it isn't as nice looking as yours :D)
If I buy it now - are you going to do the upgrade for free - or should I just wait until you do the upgrade since that will be a new price?
(I have a worry that scripts I own are going to go down the ==== have to pay for new version ==== mentality)
The honest answer is: I just don't really know. I'm assuming it's going to be a free update but if it turns out that for some reason the changes going to 2025 are so immense that it will be a bordelrine rewrite of the whole plugin then who knows. I don't think that's a likely outcome but since we haven't seen the SDK for 2025 I wouldn't be comfortable giving 100% guarantees right now.
Thank you so much for your honest reply :D And yeah I understand what you are saying. :D I certainly have this on my wishlist - this is an amazing product that I can't wait (hopefully not too long) to buy.
Bought the product, looks very nice and useful! Any chance it can be made available for current Alpha version of the Studio? That version resolves some of my HW issues so I prefer to use it, but I want to be able to use the plugin as well...
I can betatest if needed!
Ok, thank you, I've missed that. Well, you can count on me to betatest when it would be possible!
Nice product.
A request; is it possible to change the load selection from a single to double click please?
Can't do a fundamental change like that after the fact. Surely would piss off lots of people. Are you accidently clicking stuff or something?
I appreciate that.
I'm doing it quite regularly I'm afraid, probably because most other sections of studio require the double click to load.
Is it possible to make single/double click a user setting option maybe?.
Think of BJ Shelf as another handy toolbar, like the toolbars at the top of the main window, for selecting translate tool or rotate tool or universal tool or spot render tool, etc. You only click ONCE to select the tool. Don't think of it as a Content Library where you have to double click. Maybe a mind shift will help you use the BJ Shelf successfully.
Right, that's a good comparison. Honestly both approaches could make sense, since it is content related. But if I add a script or something to the toolbar I also only have to click once, and that's like loading the script from content library too where I have to double click. I could make it configurable but then I have to worry about where to put such an option and save it with the plugin state and meh I don't know. And what is single click going to do then, nothing? There's no reason to just "select" a preset, which would be expected behavior in such a scenario.
I'd say save me the trouble and get used to it
I saw the update for BJ Shelf in DIM. Any big changes in it?
Just a bug fix. Fixed bug with content library lookup that could result in ctrl-click not correctly navigating.
Ok, thanks for the information.
