Oh nice deal on that Rococo Revival bundle! I use that one a lot; it's great to work with!

If you are buying stuff from vendors that have moved from Renderosity to DAZ, this one makes it easier to check if you already own it:

Great gifts to kick off the Christmas sale! XI Street of Prague (I think I just saw Franz Kafka walking by ;-)), Censored's gorgeous-looking Kizoku Anime Hair, Luthbel's irresistible Marius HD, Totte's great Christmas Freebie, and for me personally, MartinJFrost's Architectural Garden Plants, which had been on my wish list for far too long... Thanks to everyone who contributed!

I just have my fingers crossed that the Outlet Store restocks with new offerings sometime this month (so I can keep my punches going with a $1+ purchase each day)

Yeah, same. It dropped some stuff I would've considered but didn't add anything else on my WL. I can always go scouting for more if I have to, but...

QG has me covered for the week (surprising number of things I was interested in!) but next week is no guarantee.

Weird... none of those products is free (aka a gift) for me. Seems You've been very nice to Santa and I wasn't.

The Totte's Christmas Freebie ought to be free for everyone.

I think "gifts" was used loosely, as great offerings, not free items: Streets and Kizoku Anime Hair are both heavily discounted. Marius HD is free if you have 3 punches (i.e. if you bought something in the previous three days) as a base member, 2 punches as Daz+ member, and 1 punch as a Premier member, and quite heavily discounted if you don't have any punches. As mentioned above, Totte's Christmas freebie should be free for everyone, and the Garden Plants are likely from the advent calendar which means it's a personalized option. If you recently made purchases, you should be getting your free option too. If not, probably just a $2.99 item. Those are based on your wishlist, but certain conditions have to be met too. Here's the discussion about how to optimize your wishlist for the calendar and what we know so far (price points etc.).

Edit: added details to Marius's free condition as they differ depending on membership.

Sorry for the stupid question, but does anyone know if purchases must be over $1 per punch card, so $0.99 items in OS or QG don't count? So the minimum spend is $1.99?
I'm also asking DAZ if they see this forum: Is there any chance a single $0.99 purchase for the punch card counts?
I'd like to know before I decide what to buy. Thanks :)

Thanks for the clarification! I had added Marius to my cart and he went in at a much higher price than if I hadn't purchased anything in the last 3 days (and I have- heavily). After reading your post, I tried again, and when I went to check out, the price went to 0.

As the punch card section states, the purchase must be over $1, so yes, it's safe to assume that $0.99 won't count (and if you're in a place where sales tax is added, keep in mind that sales tax doesn't count toward the punch card either). So if you want to use QG/OS items, the $1.99 items will be the minimum.

You're welcome! He's at "normal" price if you just clicked the link to the product above. The special discount for him was only announced at today's sales page and only comes into the effect when you put him into cart :) (and actually check the cart; preview often doesn't reflect those discouns). Check the out the whole sales page if you haven't already for your calendar item and the punches you have that also give you an extra discount. I know a lot of people often shop via their wishlist, but this month it's worth it to check the sales pages (each will be on the rotating banner) for extra cheap items (for easy punches), advent calendar, and other offers.

Yeah, I noticed that too with Marius. Make sure you're looking at the actual cart page to verfiy you're getting the correct price. The pop-up cart doesn't always show it correctly.

I forgot the coupon code when I checked out. I hope it will still be good tomorrow. So be sure to check you have everything ready to go before you click go on your shopping cart.

I had two cats who decided I needed to play with them, a lot. I lost my focus totally. And they are still at it.

it is obvious to take advantage of sales to the fullest a membeship is needed. If I, or anyone, were to join TODAY, Dcember 1, when would the membership expire?

Sad to see that to keep the discount the punches still force every day purchases with full reset on a single missed day. That is chrismas for DAZ wallet, not for mine.

Not saying it should all be 'free' like stackers on member sale, just 'no reset' would had been nice....or at least a few extra days depending on your member status.

Again no advent calendar explanation on requirements. We are always guessing or using trial and error (there is a very helpfull topic on the subject, but it should be better explained the rules/conditions by daz). Like, will purchasing a GC every 3 days work to keep the 'freebies' like last year?

On the plus side. As always thank you PAs for the freebies!!!

1 is 1, not 1.99, not 0.99. Some things are worth less than 1.99, like this one ($1.49) https://www.daz3d.com/xi-street-of-prague

Of course, 1.99 is the most common choice, which is the trap. I saw it, but my greed made me jump in.

It is in line with the last year's sale, though. That's why I appreciated PA sale's golden tickets and the stackers in the previous sales.

I think it used to be that you would just lose one punch, but there were so many issues with that, last year, they simplified. Not in our favor, though.

Yeah, they should have added general text for rules. I would assume that it's going to be similar, but not sure if GC will work? I don't remember last year (made other purchases to get punches), but it didn't work on punches and still doesn't.

It says the same thing on this year's as well. Scroll below the Advent Calendar to Holiday Rewards; the very last sentence reads:  Purchases of Gift Cards do not trigger punch card discount.

Okay, so it must have worked on the calendar, then, because I distinctly remember folk using it on something!

...which is not to say it will work this year.

ETA: and worth noting that's the July sale, not the Dec one.

$1 Gift Card purchases worked one year to get a punch. Then Daz closed that loophole.

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,239

I agree w/ @barbult, but I don't recall when - My sales records don't show any great reliance on the technique.

So right now I have 3 punches as a Daz+ member with a 35% discount.

If I purchase nothing today over $1.00 then my punch discount goes from 35% back down to 0%. But do I still get the Advent Calendar freebie offers for the next 2 days, before I have to buy something else over a dollar or does that also reset?

Also, will it still count as having 2 purchases to get the special item freebie tomorrow (which was Marius today). Or will that also reset to zero?

Furthermore, If I purchase something for .99 does, I know it doesn't earn me a Punch discount, but does it still count for resetting the Advent Calendar freebies like last year?

I wish we had some clarification on these rules. I think there is a chance nothing has changed, because the gift card works in the same way, it didn't earn a Punch last year either, but it did reset the Calendar freebie offers, so I guess we need someone with zero punches currently to do a test and see if a 99 cent purchase today will earn freebie offers for the next 3 days.

The Nice List counts punches, not purchases, so if the punches reset the Nice List freebie will go too. The Advent Calendar is also going by punches not some other count of purchases, we are told.

Subs are going to count towards punches, our informants say.

"The Advent Calendar is also going by punches not some other count of purchases, we are told". So as long as you don't start a day with 0 punches (because you didn't buy anything worth over $1 the day before), then you will get something on the Advent Calendar? Is that only for the free option or will you just not 'open' the window for that day on the Advent Calendar and can't choose either option?

Yeah last year you could purchase almost anything and it would still trigger the Advent Calendar freebies for 3 days. One time I purchased something for 70 cents last year and it still triggered the Advent Calendar freebies for 3 days, it just didn't earn a Punch discount. So I'm hoping nothing has changed.

Everyone (should, as far as I know) get the non-free offer - the conditional one is the freebie option.

I have banner: 20% off, but when I go to use the discount code it says "invalid." It shouldn't be, since i definately spent yesterday... any ideas? Oh, I also tried multiple items even though I didn't see any restrictions on it.
