Rosie 2025 is getting a lot of new wardrobe additions - along with a whole new section for Just Rosie 2025 in my Daz Studio library. This is one that is already making its appearance in her latest video
Josh Darling and Dimension Theory's new Animated VDB system is blowing me away and taking me massive leaps forward in being able to render scenes fully in Studio relying much less on post work VFX!
This sequence looks really cool in motion (coming soon) as the torch flame is animated to her drastic movements as she checks her six (Looks back 180). It's also showing the beginning stages of her new Platina Princess Warrior outfit redesign - which is still under development, but will be seen more in this next Creative Cart - briefly.
Her new loin cloth is actually from ND Minos Armor, dForce Loincloth, and Pants for Genesis 8.1 Male, which I've sculpted to be More Rosie using the incredible Studio Premier Geometry Sculptor - I love this thing and use it all day, every day to add on-the-fly morphs to enhance motion in dForce items as well as static conformers - and a whole lot more.
The shoulders and boots (including shins) are from The Knight Series 02 for Genesis 8 Females, but I think I'm going to replace the shoes - still working things out here. This is an excellent armor set though. Jerry really put a lot into this and made it so that all of the many. many parts of the suit can be loaded separately, which is how I'm using it for Rosie - but the whole Knight series will eventually be playing a much bigger part in the Rosie saga!
Of course, I doubt that Rosie will ever part from her mighty sword that she acquired through Aeon Soul's The Legend. The metal bikini top is from one of their distant legacy items: Platina Princess for V3, which I've altered quite a bit and created a special simulation preset for it through VWD Cloth & Hair. The bracers are from their Onslaught Sisterhood for V4.
Clicking any of the renders above will take you to Rosie's Development page.
Although I haven't completely stayed vigilant at adding all of her process, I feel that the information there can be very helpful in understanding where I'm going, why, and see how I'm constantly developing this beautifull little creature - for she does represent the Greatest Treasure of All to me... My Rosie!
Now that I've typed this little tid bit, I am compelled to go back in and write more - so I'll be updating more of it soon - both with present and future information, but also going back and filling in some things that I may have missed along the way that were vital to the process.
I don't know... I think that, because of many of the questions and comments I get about her, this page is a great read for fans of the Rosie persona!
Keep in mind that I keep the newest info toward the top of the page, so as you flow downwards, we get back towards the very beginnings - when I lost everything I had for Rosie 7 - Everything! And she was very custom - made using GenX2 to bring shapes and functions from the V4 family, Genesis 1 and 2 - causing the very beginnings of my custom control dial adventures specifically for Rosie.
I've always found the Content Creation Tools to be a massive boon to the entire Genesis lineup, and I'm certain that even those exporting these fine figures to other software would find these extra levels of control to be Fantastic for tweaking any and every nuance of the character either in action or as a still.
I thought about recreating her again, but I was already experimenting with making a Rosie 8 before losing everything and, with Ensley now (then) in my toolset for character creation, Genesis 8 Female just felt like a good fit.
Further development of her is going very well - unlike my attempts to create a Genesis 9.
I like the Rosie 9's that I've attempted - especially the exotic, totally different one based on RawArt's Princess Albana, Pixie, Ensley, and Calypso. I really think that she's starting to look Fantastic.
I think it may be just the growing pains that "I" experience with any new figure release. It always seems to take me a few years before I come to grips with it - and that's fine. I love using Genesis 9 for other things - just not yet for Rosie. I have too many tools for Genesis 8 that just are not there for Genesis 9 - so I keep collecting new Genesis 9 stuff every opportunity I get so that I have more to work with the next time I try - which could be tommorrow. Could be an hour from now - oh... no it can't. I have too much to render! LOL
Rosie 9 WIP Attempt... I don't know... maybe #24?
Actually, I could just keep "Rosie 9" a FilaToon character. She looks Great and is really fun to work with!
she makes a great toon
She really does! And it's the One Genesis 9 Rosie that I've really liked right from the start!
So having both Rosie 8.2x AND Rosie 9 Toon... why... it's like having cake and eating it too!!!
Professor Dartanbeck! :D
Saturday, July 26, 2025 is the first of an eight-week course (option for a 10 week VIP) where I get to teach my class Many cool workflows, tips n' tricks, and philosophies regarding not only animating in Daz Studio, but working closely between it (DS) and DaVinci Resolve to confidently put out Home CG Animated videos more quickly, removing many of the common frustrations that I see folks getting hung up on.
This is going to be a Blast!!!
I just came across this thread in the forums and although I don't do animation your enthusiasm for sharing knowledge is really wonderful to see. I can see from your posts you've got a really busy period coming up with the ten week course but in a previous post from August 2024 you said you were going to do a course called - Wardrobe Wonders Utilize your Existing DAZ Studio Clothing Content to the Max but had to cancel due to a change in circumstances.
The course sounded great so I had a look on your website and the course outline sounded absolutely brilliant:
Is there any possiblity of you being able to do course at some point in the future as I would sign up in a heartbeat as this looks like a course I would really love to follow.
Absolutely! Thanks for reminding me!
This is a topic that's very dear to my heart because I almost Never use outfits 'out-of-the-box' and often do some pretty crazy stuff to make them my own - or rather, Rosie's own! :)
Along the way, I've developed some really cool workflow that are so much more efficient to "show and explain" than to try and write down with circles, arrows, and a few images. So that's why I wanted to do the course.
Life has a way of throwing curveballs at us and, if I remember correctly, that it what happened to me which force the delay - and then we never came back to it.
I'll make sure to get it back on the calendar! Thanks for reminding me!
Damn, she's adorable!
Whether Rosie 9, or merely Rosie FilaToon - she rocks! Why not use the Star Trek Original 1960s Series, and Star Trek 1970s cartoon, as your guide? The answer can be both.
Yeah... I'm thinking along the same lines!
It's FUN way to Work!!!

Above is an hour-long tutorial on creating a "Spider Bot Mech" (The AntFarm) suit for "Arachnoid" (Elele) because of the fact that Arachnoid comes with a really cool aniBlock Construction Kit. Besides, it looks Amazing!!!
I just wanted to check whether there's any update from your post in July about putting the Wardrobe Wonders Utilize your Existing DAZ Studio Clothing Content to the Max in the calendar please?
That event was cancelled. I'd love to reschedule it sometime though
Thank you. Back in your July 25 post in response to my question about what was happening to the course after the original cancellation you said you would make sure to get it back in the calendar but I haven't seen anything so I was just checking to see if there was any updates on what was happening with the course.
Right! I've been continuing on with the program - barely ever remember to sleep! LOL
Sending warm encouragement!
Thanks, my friend! I'm currently working on another Rosie video because:
A - It's been a while
B - There are new changes for 2026 that I'd like to show progress of.
There are many other exciting things coming as well!
The lighting in this is superb
Thank you!
The video shows it better as the torch flames flicker - which is using Josh Darling and DimensionTheory's VDB Essentails : Prep and Animate.
It was really fun to animate because that VDB is shaped in the direction of the slight breeze on the flame - so as she waves it around, we just rotate the VDB in the proper direction and let DimensionTheory's magic do the rest - so Fun!
Hey... thank you for the kind words.
Oh... and I'm also using #21 of joelegecko's HDRI Photoshoot - the first one he made.
I rotated the dome so that the darkest was in front - all the light coming from the back. With #21, it can never really get completely dark on either side - one side red, the other blue. Very dramatic and amazingly simple to use. Big Fan!
Thanks joelegecko!!!
Alchemist's Lab (only the base building parts - no addt'l props) blocks the red from coming through - we get that from the torch. Hiding walls on the workshop is how I let the brilliant blue light through to Linday's awesome wet skin geoshell.
Seriously simple and fun.
The toughest part is choreographing the face into a performance that I like - and that's easier because it's my little Rosie 8! She's wonderfully expressive and Loves to act! :)
I just watched your latest video
I think it's too raunchy to link to the forum
Great job but hope the YouTube censor doesn't get overheated
Yeah... I'll be toning that down now - finally.
I was going for like the beginning of Bond movies.
I have a better explanation of what the video is about at the top of my home page at: https://www.dartanbeck.com/
Pushing forward in all of this, we do things and then just keep going with it. Everything evolves as we learn and grow - and I can feel myself making new leaps and bounds all the time. Now it's just a matter of keeping up with the inspirations, new techniques and ideas, and devoloping a better character as we go.
The toughest part right now is the fact that my physical pain has been growing to extremes. The wonderful part on that front is that I finally have decent enough insurance to start doing something about it. I'm hoping for nice long traction sessions on my spine, which should help significatly. I want to RUN again!
Enough of my personal crap! LOL
I am still continually finding myself fully impressed by all of the amazing artists here at Daz 3D - both the professional PAs and Daz 3D themselves - turning out INCREDIBLE new assets for me to use - as well as the community - pushing themselves forward in all that they do, whether making beautiful digital (and/or traditional) artwork or coding scripts and plugins... it's all very exciting and fun to try and keep up with.
So this reminds me, as I frenzy toward grabbing up new content. that I've been impressed like this all along. Seriously.
Part of what I taught my class is to take the time to use DIM or our Product Library here at Daz 3D to peruse all of the assets we've collected over the years - and not just look at the titles, but stop here and there and load one into Studio and have a look at it. From oldest to newest, from this sort of thing to that... it's a truly wonderful thing to see how absolutely incredible all of this stuff is!
When I hear or read people say: "Okay... I have enough to last a lifetime already", I totally get it. Over years of collecting - not just out of Need, but also as a hobby in and of itself, we amass a LOT of assets!
But that's what it has always been about for me. Amassing a huge variety. A wealthy library of digital goodness that I keep at my fingertips at all times - and DIM really is my tool for that.
So that video also has a bit of representation of some awesome stuff that I've collected and this motion picture holds the very first renders from the very first time I've loaded some of this stuff into Studio. It's a really fun thing to do and I have a digital TON of it going already. Keeping the video relatively short and to the point of a single, cohesive little story, I just added renders as needed and then sculpted music and sound around the action, which in turn helps to time out the edit - back and forth until it all kind of flows and makes me feel good.
I just wanted to explain a bit because, well... I really don't see it as "Raunchy" at all - art in motion - Musical Art in Motion... and I really think it turned out cool! :)
Great creations. Are these all made with Daz Studio?
You mean my videos?
Yes! All designed and rendered in Daz Studio! Who'd a thunk, right?!!!
After Action VFX went Subscription-Only, I even started making my own VFX elements by rendering them in Daz Studio, thanks to Josh Darling and DimensionTheory making their VDB Essentials : Animation and Prep, ThePhilosopher and his iReal series and other cool things we find in this endless store of cool stuff!
The only visual effect (besides the text) in those latest three videos that is Not rendered in Daz Studio is the bullet-through-camera lens effect, which I got a while back at Action VFX.
Each time that I find myself getting better and better results, it has never felt like the threshold or limit of what can be done. In fact, each improvement that I make feels more like a baby-step that I'm taking as I'm still easing my way into learning Daz Studio.
I've come to Daz Studio in the early 2020s, so I still feel like a newb. I still buy basic training from Jen Greenlees, Esha, Arki and the like and always find interesting things that I still haven't explored. It's been a while since I've done that since I'm having such a great time with what I know now - but I still want to finish Jay Versluis' Master Class for Daz Studio and get more training because every time I learn something new it excites me into doing something bigger, better, and more efficient.
Well. Congrats on your achievements.
