Moving clothing file to another folder causes a missing popup when loading it

Been having some trouble with a piece of clothing. As stated in the title, it causes a 'missing' message in the studio when loading it.
I don't use a 'People' folder for my clothing, but move them all to custom folders. 99% of them work, but one or two in particular need to be placed in their original folders, or else when loading them in studio they cause a popup message to appear, saying they're missing. They load perfectly fine otherwise, just show that message.
What I want to know is how to fix this file, so that it no longer shows that mesage. I don't want to put it in the original folder. FYI, the other clothing files from the content work fine, but not this one.

probably would have helped to say what the popup error message actually says...
When you say "put them in folder" what does that mean? Does that mean you move only the .duf wearable preset? If so, that shouldnt generally cause issues.
But if you are moving other random stuff like /data and /runtime files, then that will cause issues. Again, if you actually posted what the error said was missing it would probably inform someone as to what the problem is.
It really depends on the specific error you're getting.
Without knowing the specific error, the best i can tell you is, you'll need to make a new preset to replace the existing one, if you want to use a custom file structure.
You didn't give enough information for an actual diagnosis, but there's a good chance that the file which give you an error are referring to other files from the product which are no longer located where it expects them.
This particular file is moved from /People/Genesis 3 Female/Clothing/etc to my own custom folder like everything else. This same file from the clothing set is giving me a message saying that this file from that folder I moved it from is missing, but still loads fine like everything else. None of the other files give this error.
I tried to save the file afterward as a different wearable version and it still happens. Also went into the file with Notepad++ and didn't see what it was referencing that it needs this location for, when other files work fine if moved.
If I move the file back into the place it says its missing from, it no longer gives me the error. Again, nothing I know of is saying why other files work when moving them when this one gives me the error.

Can you please post a screen shot, a copy of your log file, the error message you're getting, and/or the file you're having problems with, including extension.
We can't do anything to help till we have this information.
I didn't really want to bother with that much detail, as this only happens with two files out of the thousands I have put in custom folders. I thought that what I explained would suffice, as that is the exact message the error states, and all I have done is relocate the clothing file (a shirt) to a 'shirts' folder I made. The log file also just states it needs to be in the original folder but doesn't explain why or what is pointing to it.
Just hoped that the information I provided would have jogged someone's memory but I have moved on now and can't be bothered with one file and piece of clothing I don't really need. Thanks for trying to help.
If you don't want to keep a copy in the intended folder, to solve the problem , you'll likely have to edit the content of the .duf file to change some paths who are pointing to '/People/Genesis 3 Female/Clothing/etc' to make them point to where the files related to these paths are located inside your custom folder.
Another solution could be to copy the files in your custom folder while keeping them in the intended folder.
That depends... In most of the cases, if one moves user-facing folders / files in Content Library, that shouldn't bring any missing files error or whatever failure in loading assets ~~
But there're some unique cases, for instance: the vendor ever created asset links (DJL file) for Presets that're linked to physical DUF files in a product... if one moves DUF files to other folders, DJL files won't work. So, check what's the case that you have ~~
