Premier page says: "Genesis 9 hair now compatible with Genesis 8" - Can't get it to work...

I became a Daz3d Premier customer today in order to use some G9 hairs that doesn't load properly with the auto-fit "Genesis 9 MMX". On this page: https://www.daz3d.com/blog/daz-studio-premier-and-daz-studio-4-23-updates?srsltid=AfmBOopfbWNv4SwvQcyua0-E7LsxPqy0RNqr1VMuq6N6Vj8GLtvpG45Z it says

"Enjoy Genesis 8 auto-fit enhancements, which allow you to use Genesis 9 clothing on your Genesis 8 and 8.1 figures with more accurate fitting. This gives you access to a larger wardrobe without worrying about awkward fits, making your characters even more versatile. Genesis 8 clothing and hair can now fit onto Genesis 9 characters, and for the first time ever, Genesis 9 outfits and hair are now backwards compatible with Genesis 8 and 8.1 figures"

I have installed all premier plugins but i can't load for example dForce Dokidoki Hair to G8F. I click for loading the hair and when promted chose "Genesis 9" but the result is the same as when chosing Genesis 9 MMX.

What am i doing wrong? Do I have to install something more?

Autofit enhancements are not linked to premier plugins, they were an update to Genesis 8 to add a G9 clone. Since you said you have the "Genesis 9" option as well as "Genesis 9 MMX" you seem to have that installed.

As an automatic conversion process autofit is unfortunately not a perfect process and there are some items it doesn't work that well with.

Personally for hair I tend to manually position and adjust it and then parent it to the head rather than use autofit.

    OK! Thanks Leana!

Do you load the hair to G8 before adjusting it? How do you avoid Auto-Fit? What are the steps?

Load the hair with nothing seelcted, so it doesn't try to fit to (cancel it if it does try). Parent it to the figure's head. Use the transform tools (Translate/Rotate/Scale) to line the hair up with the head in a natural manner - you can also use dForms/Pushmodifiers/Smoothing Modifiers with collision/Mesh Grabber/Geoemtry Sculptor for fine-tuning.

    OK! Got it! Thanks Richard!

Bear in mind that there are many different types of hair, soem are easier to convert (manually adjust or using converters made for clothing) than others.

That is a pretty unhelpful advise, because the hair is just parented and not conformed.

In which case you don't need to worry about the not fiting part and can reparent (if need be) and continue from there - indeed, few if any converters will help with items that are parented rather than fitted anyway.
