There is no false advertising or cheating. The promo is just presented in manner that many people are finding difficult to comprehend and placing the Wishlist link there only compounds the issue.

Anything in this list ( https://www.daz3d.com/high-energy-wishlist-picks ) that is already on your wishlist you can use the WISH-4-ALL coupon. If it doesn't work and it is on the list then DAZ flagged the wrong item. Chalk that up to lack of competence rather than dark intent.

To sort by your Wishlist items you must own this add-on for your browser.https://buymeacoffee.com/dazdeals

To discuss the add-on go here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/454726/announcing-daz-deals-browser-add-on-ii#latest

I pay for the add-on because I shop on the site alot and my time is worth more than the monthly fee. I also like the thumbnail browsing feature for the product library. Those are really the only 2 features it offers that I use. It is a shame I have to do that just to be a customer. The cost of that is weighed against spending money on a DAZ membership with its discounts. As of last DAZ membership renewal it was worth it to me. Next renewal it may not be.

So, these are the 3 items that I put in my cart, as I said, only one is free. I have a new release in my cart as well, out of picture. So, you're telling me the 2 other items, which are on my wishlist (and "daz originals", which someone speculated as another issue) are not actually in the stupid category? Because they remain there no matter how many times i refresh. Maybe the sale isn't broken for you, and if so, hey, hats off. It's clearly broken for me.

For anyone who wants to filter by their wishlist without installing any browser add-ons, I've made a bookmarklet you can use (you create a bookmark, then click on it once on a shop page).

Instructions/code for creating it are here (free): https://buymeacoffee.com/utiltarian/wishlist-filter

Would have posted it in this thread, but the forums don't allow javascript code to be posted.

surprise OMG! You win the internet today! That works really well. Thank you SO much! I'll be using that all the time. heart

Thanks for posting this. I regret not checking the forums before going through scores of pages in search for a coveted wishlisted item.

As for Daz3D, I wasted a ton of time looking for a unicorn in a haystack only to come up empty handed. This whole month seems to be wrought with banner codes that do not work and offers for items only to learn there was no offer there, just empty nothings because I didn't wishlist the right items. I don't know what Daz's plan is, but if it to help me curtail my spending, then they are doing a great job.

Make sure you do a hard refresh on the promo page to get the right link for the list of qualifying items, it seems to still be showing a bad link from a cached copy of the page for some users.

Oof! Who knew discount sales could be so brutal. Lots of hurt feelings today ...

Oh yeah, I forgot there's a freebie forum! Well, I did actually just post to the commons, probably more useful here anyway.

Glad you all find it useful! And I'm psyched to have won the internet! surprise

This was ANNOYING! I spent time finding an item in the "New Release" section that I didn't mind paying for. Then found 3 items I actually WANTED from my very long wishlist. I went to Checkout & was met with the dreaded "Coupon not Valid" warning, which is always an unwelcomed sight. I came back later. Still no luck. I switched new releases, to no avail. I finally came to the forum & found this nonsense about a secret selection of items. I found 50 pages of items to choose from, but no way to sort what was actually in my wishlist. I searched until I found sin my wishlist I didn't mind having. Then I finally gave up, removed the new release & just took the freebie. My time was wasted. I was excited, then annoyed because it sucks to get something because you don't want a coupon to go to waste rather than get what you actually want! My 2 Daz + Coupons don't always get used because of your stupid "Coupon not Valid" nonsense. Not good Daz

Yes, as I said earlier, I picked items from the category and the coupon simply didn't work. Period. Also, in my opinion, "buy this third party browser extension to fix a problem that shouldn't be there" isn't a real solution. Especially when it literally wouldn't have been in my case-- repeating again, I DID pick items from the linked category, and the coupon - did not work - as others have said. And this was hours before the promotion was to end. Edit to add: Also, I do most of my shopping via mobile because my work computer is intentionally not online except to download new assets and software updates for the various items I use in my workflow. You pretty much can't use browser extensions in most mobile browsers.

Thankyou, that was well worth a coffee, I very much missed the old ''Wishlistify'' thingy, saves so much time     8-)

I'm not sure if I should call this poorly handled or disappointingly deceptive

It has two links to *your wishlist* - the same one that you'd see if you went to your account and viewed your wishlist - with wording indicating "any item(s) on your wishlist." But this is not true. There is ONE link to a SUBSET of items in the store - not all of which are ON your wishlist, it's just the set of items which *you* then have to sort through to find whatever's on your wishlist. (And there's no filter for *that* that I see.)

This feels *very* bait-and-switchy. You know, "Hey, while you're looking for what we WILL discount that's actually on your wishlist and valid, how about buying more of this other stuff..."

    Do better, Daz.

    +1

In the end, I couldn't be bothered. I'm sick of those kind of tactics

I have wasted several hours trying to get this wishlist-4-all coupon to work. Absolute waste of time. These Benefits of membership are getting too complex and buggy to be worth even using.

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,242

Surely it's expired now? Not on the sale page, as far as I can see.

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,242

My observation is, most freebies like the free-4-all are DO only. I saw a lot of items that were recently in the outlet store - a bunch I had bought there, too. It's alarming to find so many people had trouble here. I went with the one item offer and I was done in about 5 minutes end to end. I even did it from my phone, which I rarely do. I don't think it was supposed to be a problem for anyone. I think my experience was expected to be the norm.

This is after the promotion has ended, but for future reference. I had only one item from my Wishlist in the cart, that was wishlisted before the day of the promotion, and it was the only item in my cart. I applied the coupon and it worked. I had tried this with another item on my Wishlist, which I suspect was not part of the promotion, and the coupon was not valid. I can only say suspect because the first attempt was from my Wishlist (using the Wishlist link in the promo) not the promotional list filtered by my Wishlist.

I have found DAZ promotions difficult to interpret without my ouija board and entrails in a tortoise shell, so sometimes I have difficulty applying DAZ coupons and using my prognostication tools to interpret DAZ's mysterious messages is more time than I am willing to invest. laugh

When you are having issues a hard refresh is always a good idea for the DAZ website.

A HARD refresh (complete flush of temporary files for your current browser session) is:

On Windows or Linux, press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R; on Mac, press ⌘ Cmd + Shift + R. For Safari on a Mac, the specific command is Option + ⌘ Cmd + E.

Before anything else, THANK YOU, Daz, for the freebie! You made my day. laugh

Just to repeat it for the sake of completion, the discount applied to this set of items - https://www.daz3d.com/high-energy-wishlist-picks - but I found out that we need to apply the WISH-4-ALL coupon, whether we have any Debut New item together in the cart or not.

To echo someone's earlier comment, it would immensely help if we had a check box to filter the High Energy against our personal wish list. My High Energy list came up to almost 190 pages; that sort of filter would cut down on the time and effort to the relevant items. (Full disclosure: I don't have Daz+ or any added subscription.)

Absent that wish-filter feature, here's a heuristic that helped improve my experience:

    1. Get the maximal freebie value. Sorted from high to low, my High Energy list topped off at $30.00.

    2. Go for the best bang for the buck. Sort your personal Wish List, ignoring items above the max $$$ value from step #1, from high to low and mentally sort them in $10 tiers.

    3. Match items between the two sets. (This is where working with a database, plus SQL, could be a huge time saver!) Go through the two sorted lists by tranches and, hopefully you find an intersection, starting from the most expensive to the least. Put that -- or those, up to 3, with a Debut New item  -- in your cart.

    4. Pay at the register.

    Cheers!

I used a technique similar to yours.  Fortunately, my Wishlist was less than 9o items.

    1. Sorted the High Energy Wishlist and my Wishlist from High to Low
    2. Filtered my Wishlist by Artist one at a time.  If an Artist on my Wishlist was not on the High Energy Wishlist, then I moved on to the next Artist on my Wishlist.
    3. Once I found an Artist on both wishlists, I searched the High Energy Wishlist starting at the high price point for the Artist on my Wishlist.

Should anyone have had to go through such an exhaustive process to find a free item.  NO!

    jjoyner,

Good to hear a bit of clear thinking and twiddling with the asset filters helped you with your purchase.

I didn't get beyond sorting and matching by price because a few things were changing behind the scenes in real time. Here's a post-mortem:

    (1) A Golden Ticket applies a discount to a Debut Item in the cart. In my case, I bought a GT a day or two before, but I wasn't aware that it would expire. So at one point, around noontime CST, the price of the Debut Item in my cart inexplicably jumped up! That was the first thing that threw me off.

    (2) As Leana pointed out, the WISH-4-ALL coupon didn't apply to 2022 items. I'm not sure when this exactly happend; perhaps as a consequence, the price of WL items in my cart inexplicably went from $0.00 to $20.00+ or so. What did I do? I tried clearing my browser cache. When that didn't restore the coupon discount, I emptied my cart and logged out and in, hoping to start all over again.

    (3) Second time around, to my surprise, those WL items I intially had in the cart no long appeared in the High Energy list -- bummer. In the end, the WISH-4-ALL coupon worked; I decided against purchasing a GT to discount my Debut Item; I paid for WL items between the $15.00 - $20.00 range for free.

Should anyone have had to go through such an exhaustive process to find a free item.  NO!

All this is not to say I walked away with any ill feelings. I'm really glad for free items; like any seasoned bargain hunter, I know the process meant a bit of patience and elbow grease on my part. At the same time, I've been responsible for customer-facing software before and I understand the challenges that come with production code. To be fair to the DAZ team, every end-user's PC or mobile client is different. From the production team's POV, a multiltude of web browser clients -- each one a black box -- is the last mile in a complicated process spanning the globe. Some quirks and snafus are beyond their control.  Folks will argue otherwise, but this is my opinion.

To you point, yes, added sorting and filtering features on the web page could have made the shopping experience more intuitive, more pleasant. In hindsight, here again is a bit of anime that hopefully lends a lighter note to the whole matter ...

    Cheers!
