Vintage Beauty Salon
Those Things

Hello beautiful people, the vintage beauty palor I promised is finally done! So, while I work to get it uploaded to the Daz store, I thought I'd give you a quick preview, and answer any questions. As is usual for my sets, nothing is nailed down, so you can rearrange everything to your heart's content. There's a ton of props, the chairs are all rigged, and the hair dryer chair can adapt to characters of multiple sizes and shapes. The hair washing sinks can raise or lower for the same purpose. Of course, you can use all of the props somewhere else to make your own salon if you want to use a different environment, or your older GPU can't handle the full loadout.
Here's some pictures to rub on your eyeballs, and if you want to see anything closer let me know.
EDIT: I originally had books and magazines for your characters to read in this collection, but I had to remove them because they contained A.I. elements which can carry copyright concerns. If you still want them and don't mind the A.I., send me a message and I'll send you a link to them for free.
Happy rendering!

That looks like a lovely set
Thank you!
@Those_Things, I think your set is quite lovely. I have one ask. Poses. For real people having hair done, or working on a customer or checking her in/out, ladies under the dryer reading a magazine or cell phone, or chatting to the customer next to her. Little kids getting first hair cut/style, or playing on floor as their harried mom gets her hair cut. I could go on. I love your pose sets and being able to have them for this set would be fantastic.
Great, I just bought your much desired Mad Lab, Vintage Vending, other things, and your pink Beauty Building goes well with it together.
Thank you! And "pink Beauty Building" is my absolute favorite thing today.
Is it already published?
I cannot find it.
No, not yet. On its way...
I totally get it, poses are a natural want for a set like this, but at present I'm overwhelmed with non-Daz work, so getting to something like that would take a while.
Beautiful! work (as always!!!) This is gonna be a winner for you.... Immediate buy from me (to help make it so!)
I understand. I appreciate that you made the set and I hope the non-Daz work will be kind to you.
Another great set from you. If I can make a suggestion, maybe add a door that looks like it leads into a back room where there could be an office or washroom or storeroom. The workers would need somewhere to go if they 'had to go' without leaving the store itself. You may have already done this, but I can't tell from the images you showed. Also maybe a cash register were they can pay.
I really love this set! I would like to see either curtain morphs to close them, or just a second set of prop curtains in the closed position. Huge open windows can be a pain to deal with. But I'll buy it either way. I can always kit bash something if need be.

What's the thing with blue liquid in it?
Disinfectant for sterilising combs etc, I think?
Fabulous new product! It lives up the the standards of previous Those Things products.
This render doesn't show off much of it, and I changed the wallpaper, just because I also wanted to try another product that I recently bought.
I thought I should have put Richard Haseltine in the adjacent chair. It is about the season for him to get his fluffy tail hair extensions. I decided he probably deserves to be the star of his own render, sometime later.
I don't think I wuld have wanted my fluffy tail extension on the seat next to a cigarette anyway - though avoiding them at that time could be tricky.
Yes, that could be a concern, especially if the hairdresser was applying hair spray to your fluffy tail at the time. It's good that I unwittingly kept you out of harm's way. Another bullet dodged!
Thank you barbult! It's feedback like that that fuels my OCD and keeps me creative.
Btw, I put this in the OP, but I guess I should repeat it here (and if posting this isn't allowed in this forum, please remove this post), I originally created books and magazines for this set, but I used A.I. generated elements in their textures so I had to leave them out to avoid copyright issues. But, if you don't mind the A.I. and aren't using them for something commercial where it could be a concern, here's a link to them: Magazines and Books ZIP files These stand alone as their own thing, so anyone reading this can use them, even if you didn't buy my set. Just, you know, keep in mind about the A.I. elements.
Here they are, for anyone curious:
Those look so much like ones I poured over as a kid and teen in the 1950s and 1960s. Even old magazines from the 1940s seemed to still be around then, kind of like old magazines in doctors' offices. Never die, and God only knows how many germs were passed on by the pages.
Those magazines and books are awesome, thanks :)
Thanks for the magazines! Salon looks perfect! Thank you for also providing the exterior.
You're very welcome! I should point out that I made the sidewalk on the outside its own material so it can be hidden if for some reason you want to stick this into an existing street scene. In my tests it fit very nicely into a corner of Stonemason's "Streets of Paris" and all I had to do was slightly nudge one of the existing buildings aside a smidge.
