Whale Sharks are completely harmless to humans...just pretend they're a whale ;)
Right? And such a cool one also, and with HDRI! Really really generous. Thank you, Alessandro!

Nice Stonemason Diner
Yes, that is today's highlight! I also like https://www.daz3d.com/gnbd-city-night-streets-and-lights-brushes-mockups--more and https://www.daz3d.com/ptf-optical-fx.
Phenomenal - unlike most interior sets, this one comes with a matching exterior structure. That means more storytelling potential for comics and visual novels. It also has a nice but generic name and should drop neatly into various settings without calling too much attention to itself. And for $2.99? Gold standard, right here.
The Galaxy Diner counter doesn't look very practical or useable. Just look at that countertop. There is no place to put the knees, sure it slopes inward slightly but not enough to make it actually useable to pose a figure that would actually eat at that counter. The countertop needs to overhang. A seated figure will be positioned too far away to actually eat there. I suppose you could remove the barstools and have it for standing use only. But no one would sit at that counter comfortably to eat. And then there are the weird handrails, why are they even there? Is this diner moving through space? Its not a converted train car diner, so there is no reason for handrails. Maybe the original intention was to make it a diner on a spaceship and then Stonemason decided against that and gave it a traditional diner exterior but forgot and left the handrails? There is not a need to reinvent a diner counter by removing the counter overhang and adding weird handrails, which actually look like they are too narrow anyway and would pinch the fingers. I could excuse this if it was made by a new PA, but I expect better from SM.

I think it might actually be more accommodating than the counter at the Steak & Shake that I used to frequent.
The rails are part of the theme or decor - better hold on, this rocket's taking off! You know, "Galaxy Diner" and all.
But honestly I didn't spare much attention to the counter before buying the set - I find the idea of going to a restaurant but eating at the bar to be just plain weird. :P
I cannot tell you in how many diners I've been with not enough leg room.
A lot of work went into the creation of the diner. I love it. Strange so hear someone talking about practicality for something in 3d. Like the thongs, and impossible high heels, that are sold as armor, are very practical....
I loaded G9Base, shaped him as a male and used 'Party Night Poses for Genesis 9' Relaxed as a start and was able to get a pretty good start on a pose at the counter. And I am not that great at posing from scratch or from another pose, other than fixing minor issues. For simulations, I think I would separate the bar stool or the couches but I am not sure. In real life you would have to slip in under those tables and fight to keep a dress down.
My preference would be a Feral Fey pose set for this product. She does such a wonderful job. But it could be done if someone has the time to spend to tweak each character and save.
I used to sit at a cafeteria-style counter for breakfast like this in dress suits to jeans and had to loop my ankles around the bottom bars, and still banged my knees, dropped my heels, lost my purse on the floor, all common issues for a woman at this type of set-up eating alone. But worth it for the wonderful food.
Stonemason, I love this set. Thank you.
And here's me getting all excited when my feet hit the floor, LOL. (I usually get seated across from the tallest person so they can stretch out.)
If you find the seat to close, then just move it.
While I've not bought the diner and can't actually comment on whether the proportions are wrong or right, I think you're proposing a false equivalence here.
If I buy skimpy armour that has cleavage, a thong and high heels, it's implicit that it is a fantasy item and should be used as such. And, more importantly, it can be used as such.
If I buy a car and discover it's proportioned all wrong, and the character's feet have nowhere to be and their arms can't reach the steering wheel, I am left with a product that cannot be used as what it's supposed to be. I should reasonably expect to be able to have characters use the environments, vehicles and props I purchase, but there are many such products on the store that fail to use adequate reference.
And you can't use your imagination on this ? It's supposed to be a diner, it functions as a diner. It doesn't pretend to be something else. There are booths you can sit at to eat, drink, talk to others. That is the function. It's practical, because you can use it as is, you know, a diner. It doesn't pretend to be a cinema, like some skimpware does, shoelaces pretending to be armor.

I didn't find it difficult, I did move the stools
Twinmotion Render
Nice, The people at the counter look a little far away from it, but not too bad.
Wendy that looks wonderful. And if I was in that room, I would move closer to that kid standing on the seat and give him my 'Master Sergeant Stare' to get him behave! It worked the other day at Target on a kid driving a push toy into customers. Parents nowhere in sight.

Wow, wow, @WendyLuvsCatz
Amazing video - so much motions/animations added.
ha, Twinmotion comes with pre animated people, also paths of people, bicycles and cars
not much skill there, the big tedious job is consolidating all the materials and adding roughness, metallic, normal and opacity maps
it's an Unreal Engine "game" for Architectural visualisation
I use Lumen but it does ray tracing too but not well on my PC
The question is whether it *does*.
I don't personally own the product to test, but if it is normal for a diner counter to have an overhang for the customer's legs to fit under (I don't entirely know - diners are not commonplace in the UK), but the product does not have that, then it would be a legitimate criticism that it is hard to pose characters naturally within the set and use it as intended.
This is an unequivalent comparison, because we can all see through the pretence in a second. It's a lie we all know is a lie. Yes, I'm sick of "armour" that's basically lingerie, but the point is that chainmail panties are obviously chainmail panties.
No-one's going to buy them, then when they get to doing a render go "GASP! I WAS MISLED! THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION SAID ARMOUR, BUT THESE OFFER NO PROTECTION AT ALL!!"
Well, at least without being a complete blithering idiot, but I'll assume anyone capable of using the forums is smart enough to know that actual armour does not have cleavage cutouts.
But a user very well could buy a house, or a car, or a gun prop, then when it comes to actually using it they find that it's proportioned completely wrong and therefore really hard to use or even outright useless. And the thing is, that without it being a specific area of expertise for someone or without having previously run into the problem, proportioning errors like this are probably not immediately apparent in the promos - I mean, there's not a lot of people who can immediately quote the dimensions of a typical household door, particularly if the product promos don't include any characters for scale reference.
And as products may well sit in your library for months (particularly when sold like this with an extremely high initial discount that's unlikely to be equalled for a long time), people may not actually get around to using the product in-depth enough to spot issues like this until well past the refund window.
~~~~~
In any case, it is ridiculous to propose that the existence of lingerie armour fixes or justifies shortcomings in other products; two wrongs do not make a right.
(Although, again, I stress that I have not actually tested Galaxy Diner to know whether it's a problem; I am however saying that I have seen things like this with other products and I empathise with the issue).
It's science fiction, not all species have legs that need to fit under a counter hangover.
I can also give the answer I got when talking about something I didn't like about G9 - get the subscription version of Daz Studio and use the geometry altering tools to change what you don't like.
I have quite a few diners, but I gave up after loading four others. The bars and stools line up vertically in these images.
That second one looks useable, which one is that Richard?
Also my favorite and default go to for diner images is Miranda's Ice Cream Parlor by the late great SloshWerks. If only we had more PA's like him.
https://www.daz3d.com/miranda-s-ice-cream-parlor
That is how it is supposed to be done. I've never seen a diner in real life that didn't have a countertop similar to Miranda's. I think a lot of PAs must never eat out if they think it is normal for no overhang. I've eaten at thousands of diners over the years, I live for road trips and late night adventure. Eating at a counter without the overhang means you are dripping ketchup or coffee on your lap. No one eats like that except some wild animal who should not be allowed in civilized society.
The second one looks like this one:
https://www.daz3d.com/double-triangle-diner
Yes, it is.
I'm a bit disappointed by Chrryt'sGolden Ticket today (https://www.daz3d.com/kwel-hd-for-genesis-9). Their other figures were so whimsical, special and interesting; this one now looks just like the typical 'quirky-sexy' type that one sees in the store quite often. And while the boxing outfit is a cool idea, the outfit itself is just so plain ridiculous for the purpose that it's almost offensive. It's like a skimp armor in terms of useability, only for sports.
I loved https://www.daz3d.com/nylie-hd-for-genesis-9 and https://www.daz3d.com/sadora-alien-plus-for-genesis-9-feminine and the fun outfits they and others, like Pyrika, came with; more of these would be so cool, instead of this more generic line.
