I used my ad blocker to zap it. I don't want to click on that even by accident. No thank you very much.

I haven't seen anybody mention it yet, but there's also a checkbox for "Use AI Search Beta" next to the search box.

not noticed on iOS but search on that was broken anyway, my desktop unusable at the moment to check, will be for another 10 hours as rendering Luthbel's Dark Sovereign, that is a  resource hog

It shows up on both my iPad and Win11 desktop.

Nice at least that you have to opt in, so it's easy to just not do that.

turned my ad blocker off to see it...

gave it a try and found out that:

    1. Carrara isn't getting updated

    2. Victoria isn't dating Michael

    3. Victoria doesn't get annoyed.

make of that what you will laugh

I can't see the chatbot. I do see the 'Use AI Search Beta' (but it still only searches for |OR| terms not |AND| so searching for 'Cyberpunk Apartment' (without quotes) still just gives results for 'Apartment', but searching with double-quotes works for the exact phrase (but not both words occuring together), but I'm getting the same results with and without the AI checked anyway...

I see the Ai search in the store on iOS in both forum and store on Edge

also, it did not mention conversion to Blended weight but at least it didn't say no

I find it takes an unreasonable amount of room on a mobile screen.

I wish it had the option to turn it off and then I could turn back on if I ever had brain damage - then I might need or want it to help. As it is, I want the uncluttered screen space more than I want the icon. On a proper computer screen it's out of the way and it's much easier to ignore. I use Adblocker on my mobile device & it's visible.

So: Product improvement request: Please make it off by default on mobile devices and so it may be turn on by a setting if the user wants it.

    Regards,

    Richard

Well, as an experiment, I thought I'd ask the AI Victoria this question:

My expectations were that I'd either get a "No, you can't" answer... which is probably the useful answer for most people, but not strictly true when it's me asking the question...

... or a canned "Yes, Daz Studio has an auto-fit function that allows [...]" answer that would be unhelpful to anyone, because you can't autofit like that (there's no clone, and even if you make one there's technical problems).

I wasn't really expecting this answer, which implies a lot about how the AI has been trained:

Firstly, it's wrong; You cannot use the Genesis 8 Centaur dForce Clothing Aids to fit bloomers to the centaur - I know, because I made them. (Drape skirts, cloaks or coats over the horse body, yes. Won't work on other things).

Secondly, parts of the answer are a near-verbatim quote from my forum freebie thread:

... which to me sounds a lot like it's been trained using forum posts, and in this case a pretty obvious regurgitation has come out because of how little training data would exist for a niche question like this.

Why do we apparently need these chat bots?

It's as if the goal is to constantly come up with things nobody asked for.

In their defense the store now tells you when you already own bundle items and gives you the discount. No waiting for a special deal to get that starter bundle to disappear or if you bought a few components a la carte and later decided you wanted everything.

I haven't seen the search AI on my tablet but it's an Amazon Fire and the OS is what I think of as a "mutated Android," so possibly too different for the AI. Or perhaps Daz is doing A/B testing?

I doubt I will use it much if it does show up.

    Here is Victoria's answer wink
Why do we need a chat bot?

Great question! Chatbots like me can provide immediate assistance when you need quick answers or help with common questions, rather than waiting for forum replies which can sometimes take days.
We're here to help you get faster support for urgent issues, guide you through troubleshooting steps, and provide information about our products and services right when you need it. This way, you can get back to creating amazing 3D art without delays!
Of course, for complex technical issues or account-specific matters, our human support team is always available when you need that extra level of assistance.

DAZ AI search is upon us!

Now my last useable skill has been usurped. I am a Grand Search Wizard and could find anything anywhere on the internets through many methods. Now I am captain dunsel. sad

Cannot be possibly worse than existing search?

"Gateway time-out" or maybe it can.

well, I guess there will always be that one person who tries to talk dirty to the chatbot hoping to find an Ai companion while their naughty renders are in progress devil

My Draconian Ad blocker hides it in Chrome on my dedicated internet Computer (2012 Apple Imac,)
But I see it on My Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra.

If they put all of their forum history into the Data base
it might be able to answer previously asked questions though.

Not only AI Search, but AI Support (the black dingbat that's now in the lower right corner of the screen, at least on full-size monitors). Victoria herself wants to help! (And, if I'm reading it correctly, if Victoria the AI Chatbot can't help, there may actually be a live person that she transfers you to, which seems odd, given that Daz turned off phone support ages ago.)

I think you are refering the the first post in this thread. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/741341/chatbot-not-clicked-to-find-out

I don't see it on my desktop firefox.

    Got a laugh from me.

A very respected work advice blog had a similar question from a business consultant. He found out several male employees (of his clients) were asking his Scheduling Bot, with a female name, for dates! Search for Ask A Manager & AI Assistant. It is the top result and very work safe. I didn't want to link it directly so as not to make extra work for the mods.

This will be Victoria 10. Obviously newer, better and more highly featured than any previous Victoria to date. To see her (as opposed to talking to her), you're going to need a load of accessories AND the full version of DS6. Regards, Richard

I had to disable Siri because my iPad kept admonishing me for swearing at it

It will open a ticket for you. The hope is that it will be able to reduce the number of things that go through to a ticket, so that response times for those can improve.

On my MacMini Pro M4 I can't see any 'chatbox' but the 'Use AI Search Beta' is there and I tried that. Yeah, it listed forum posts with the 'letters' I typed my question with. So a list of posts that had - i, t, h, m, .... Not very helpful.

Could someone do a screenshot where this chatbox is and post it? Or is it a Windows only option?

    Thanks,

    Mary
