@nonesuch00   My hubbie loves roses, but we never have them due to the thorns and the dogs. The Fairy Rose is beautifully named, too!

Roses are difficult. The ones I like with those rose smells I always, or rather,  diseases, alway kill. They ones I still have are tougher than the diseases.

There is one thornless rose that has bright pink flowers and a sweet scent with canes that can be up to 25' to 30' long each called Zephirine Drouhin that I have two of. They only bloom once in spring though, otherwise their popularity would be through the roof.

I love roadrunners! I used to see them all the time at night in Texas when I lived their. The most exciting bird I rescued was a red-tailed hawk in Kentucky. The poor thing was so sick I just when over to it and picked it up (with protection for my hands and forearms!). The Raptor Rehab Center couldn't save her though as the pnuemonia was too bad. At least she got comfort against her illness though and no attacks in the rehab center.

That was so caring of you to try. Helping larger birds, particularly of prey, can be quite intimidating.

More and more of my honeysuckle is opening up, and my sister said her passion flower bush is going gangbusters. I haven't researched those as to how many types there are, but they are stunning. Another plant to look up is Mother of Millions  plant, It's a Kalanchoe and I've never seen anything like this!

Checking in to see how your grandson is doing- somehow I missed your original post (notification wasn't received.) Is he out of NICU or about to leave?  Have any photos, we'd love to see them!

    Stopped getting notifications.

Asher is doing well. Spent 63 days in the NICU, then came to our house for 3 weeks before we flew home with them to get them settled back in Washington state after their unexpected 3 months stay in Cincinnati. Asher is 4 months old, over 13 pounds, and doing well. The photos show how he has grown!

@RGcincy Wow, what a difference from 3 pds to 7 pds, then 13 pds! Thrilled for the weight gain and development, and sending lots of hugs to the family!  I know you are appreciated so much, they are lucky to have you as a support system. Thanks for sharing those photos, it is so encouraging to see little ones thriving!

Howdy gal! I'm in the same boat, been a year since I did my last render. We're getting a house ready for sale and there's just zero time for anything else. About to put it on the market within the next two weeks. I'll post some photos when it's ready.

Your renders were always so gorgeous- can't wait to see what you do! Hugs!

Hey guys! Well, it's been busy and I never did get around to posting those pictures as we got the house ready for sale. I still may do that :)
Today is the last Sunday I'll be at our Pensacola home- after 21 years! Excited to FINALLY be moving to St. Augustine!

I made Mike a bet we'd get offers in a week, and we did! (5 -6 days, all three offers. The contracts were signed within 8 days because we were waiting to see what the third offer would be.) We had full price, and high all cash offers! The average time here right now is 60-110 days to go under contract. So listed July 10th, contract July 18th, closing August 6th. That's another reason an all cash offer is fantastic- you can close within 2-3 weeks. Out of here before hurricane season really gets going!

We had new LVP (Luxury VInyl Plank flooring), new quartz countertops, new water heater, new front and back doors, the list goes on. In other words, we put in the work from Oct-July. Painted the entire interior, glad THAT'S done.

Our house sold to the buyer who at the last minute on a Wednesday night asked to see our house at 6:30pm. He wanted to come back the next day, canceled as he said he didn't need to see it again, he was in love with it and making an offer. I am thrilled his grandson will enjoy the pool when he visits! (Got to chat with his agent when she came over for one of the inspections. SO happy the house is already loved and they are SO excited!)

Anyway, Tuesday we do our part of the paperwork, I'm spending the night at the house one last time,  and heading out Wednesday morning early. They are doing their closing on Wednesday, but can't do their walk-through before 9am, I did that on purpose. I'm going to get the leaves out of the pool and sweep the pool deck one last time, and didn't want to rush saying good-bye to the house. Then off to St Augustine! Will post some photos of our home over there, it's good we got it last August and it's already set up. I remember all the "sell the house AND do a major move" that Mike and I went through with the military.

So enjoying the last weekend here!

Glad that went so well for you! Sounds like you made it move-in ready which always help attract buyers. And you already have your new place set up, that makes it so much easier. Does your new house have a pool too?.

@robertfriese   @melanieL   @RGcincy   Thanks so much! And what have you been up to this summer?
Yes, the house in St Augustine has a enclosed pool which is solar heated, and a cascading waterfall into it from the jacuzzi (also heated.) The house is on a large man-made pond, a series of ponds go through the neighborhood and are all connected. They're not canals (not square) so we all call them ponds. We have eagles in the neighborhood, sea gulls, great herons, and ducks (which come into the yard to snooze.)  There are also occasional alligators. My yard has a wrought iron fence around it (waterfront can't block neighbor's views, so no privacy fences.) so I don't think gators will bother with my yard since the one next door doesn't have a fence at all. But we never put the small dogs out first, it's always the Weimaraner (big game hunting dog) and Golden Retriever and Samoyed out first. Even then, I've already gone in the pool area and spot-checked the yard. (LOL I'm not stupid, I am not going out in the yard to look!)

I am inland, NOT St Augustine proper- aka where the Bridge of Lions and downtown St Augustine is. I am about 20 minutes inland from there. It's good because other than 2016 when one went up the coast, hurricanes don't seem to cross the area. You watch, I'll move there and BAM!

Not much between dental surgery and heat index temps up to 118 I've basically just sat around and lost arguments with my three cats, yard work gets done a little bit at a time

@Novica, just saw the news. I am so happy for you. I hope you have a chance to relax and soothe sore muscles and contemplate the beauty of life in peace and quiet. That is if the furry folk will let you!

Your home looks spectacular. Better than some I have seen on HGTV.

NEVER argue with a cat. They just lick their paws and completely ignore you...

Aww, thank you!  I put a lot of work in on the garden beds.  Here's a few pics, including my Weimaraner and Golden Retriever. They're so chill!
BTW that really pretty reddish-purple one is a Dragon's Breath Celosia. Looks SO different than the flame shaped Celosia! That and the yellow marigold next to it (third photo) got huge as the pool deck water from rain drained into the middle garden bed and they are on the edge of it by the drain area.

A very beautiful home & congrats to the buyers and to you the seller and enjoy you new home in St Augustine!

Wow, those are some lovely plants and home. And the dogs, well my first impression was of a married couple!

My cats took extreme exception to me storing my older bedding under my bed in a plastic container, jumped off the new stuff and stalked out of my bedroom squawking. They maintained the noise until I had finished arranging my containers under the bed. They won't be happy when they figure out I cut off their underground railroad for zoomies.

We have another Xcel Energy Action Day today, must reduce electricity use by 2% from 4pm to 8pm. Which means we will be turning off, unplugging our computers, lights, watching TV on our pads, wifi laptops (we leave power to our Modem/Router), I will run out to get dinner. We are lucky we start to go to bed by 6pm so we can get up by 3:30am. But the temperature is supposed to be 98F today, heavy smoke from fires, so windows have to be closed (and our apartment doesn't get wind anyways). I have managed to get us to save 7.7% to 77.7 & 74.7% (I think they have a decimal problem on their reporting).
