Where to unzip HDRI files for Daz Studio?

Hi! I download this HDRI from Renderosity (https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/83150/forest-hdri?utm_source=chatgpt.com) but there is no readme file or installation instruction with it, and it's the first time that I download a HDRI. So, I wonder what would be the best folder to unzip and install it in My Library... I guess that, to use it, its folder probably shouldn't matter, but  still, I would like to keep a coherent oraganization in my library... Could you tell me which folder is usually used to install HDRI for DS, please?

Thank you in advance!

I made a folder called HDRI and download all of them there.

HDRI maps usually locate in your Daz Library\runtime\textures\[by vendor]. You can create a folder of "Free HDRI" or for the vendor, e.g. Namtar3D, place the maps into that folder.

Then you can assign the map to Environment Map in Render Settings pane from that folder, then save as a Render Settings Preset as needed.

Ah, ok, tank you very much! laugh

  • I do the same as Fishtales. I also have jpg thumbnails of the HDRI's in the directory so it can be shown as an image in the file open dialogue. Regards, Richard
