Another free clothing/simulation software from the makers of Marvelous Designer is Jinny. Since it can be used fully for free but has a store I don't want to offer a link.
The program is deceptively simple with a clean, minimal interface and default male and female Toon-like avatars. Behind the simplicity, the program is very powerful.
An account with Clo-3d (The MD parent company) needs to be set up and anyone using the program needs to be logged-in so that initial, starting-point clothes can be chosen and downloaded. It doesn't start with pattern patches like MD but offers pre-made basic garments which can be edited. Just as a user of MD might start by making something basic and then go on to adjust the proportions and so on, this works in much the same way except the basic part is done for us..
I have hardly used it yet. Can we bring in our own avatars? Not sure but I got a realistic-enough avatar from the site. Can we export garments? Yes but I haven't worked out what is involved. A while ago I read that exported garments go on-line for other users to peruse (and download?) but that the creator can choose to take it down from the site while keeping it (as .fbx?) . (That information was from a time when the program was still being developed) It means that there are numerous finished works made by other users out there which can be further developed.
I had a short play with the program and took screenshots.which I could show but there are plenty of YouTube videos showing the basics.
Having looked a bit further, garments can be saved to the PC as files compatible with Marvelous Designer.
Also, there is a Studio Mode in Jinny for posing the figure and taking a picture or flyaround video (no Timeline for animation).
In Studio Mode, exporting the garment is done as an Fbx to the PC along with an upload to the user's profile from where it can be seen by others along with the initial clothing elements from which it was made.
I have not read the EULA to be able to say anything about permitted usage.

Imago, I first heard of Jinny about a year or more ago when it was quite new and I remember trying it for only about an hour a couple of times without getting far. Then it was a massive download.
This time I've installed from a much smaller download but have only only spent about three hours in total on the program including looking at YouTube videos.
Basically, I don't know the answer to your question about commercial use. I can look from within the program at the works of others (hosted on the parent web-site) and see amazing outfits for free or for purchase. I fitted one of the free ones and was able to use it as a starting-point for further changes. But I have no idea who gets the credit (or ownership) of the final piece.
Even supposing that works made in Jinny can only be sold on the parent store (I don't know if that is the case) then the works can definitely be saved as Marvelous Designer files to be re-opened and refined in MD. So, one scenario for commercial use could be to create lots of things in Jinny and then take out a short subscription to MD where all sorts of embellishments could improve the works and they could be fitted more accurately to your avatars of choice. With MD you can make leather, silk, Denim, etc. etc. You can create many wonderful textures also. I'm pretty certain that many PAs use Marvelous Designer for their creations.

Blender 4.2 after glb file imported. Blender 4.5 did not initially open the glb files, second try of 4.5 it worked.
Opened exported FBX file from Blender in Ultimate Unwrap. Icosphere can be turned off.

Exported from Blender 4.5 as FBX 2012 using Better Fbx Importer & Exporter addon. Icosphere needs to be deleted in Blender as well.
I am still doing the DAZ studio render that stopped me from playing with it
Carrara is fussy about FBX version, 11 or lower because it predates later versions
yeah even obj conversions of glb files add the eclosing mesh
in Unreal Engine too which is actually what I often export to Carrara from
Carrara is still generally less fussy than iClone6 and Ultimate Unwrap 3D for FBX as long as it's not a higher version of FBX
A quick render of the posed Gazelle. When posing I could not move the head much as the lower chin seperated, also the elbows are a little out. No doubt experience in locating the rig in Mesh2Motion will improve on those hiccups.
I find Carrara will accept FBX 2012 most of the time, later versions can be way out.

Blender just left me baffled, I have no idea how to switch animations which are NLA clips in the outliner
am waiting for Unreal Engine 5 to do it's compiling shaders crap that takes forever and will export the GLB as FBX from that as know I can get that into Carrara
yes, UE5 FBX2011 worked perfectly, they need weightpainting badly though, it doesn't rig assymetric figures well
also you do need to do separate takes for FBX animations, Carrara only reads one take

I have had AccuRig for over a year and have yet to get anything to work nicely
easier to bone it myself or borrow an old Poser rig
I also have Auto Rig Pro for Blender, might need to get cracking and do a few tutes on it ......
you'd think either DS or Poser would have an auto rig feature by now.
