She's a pretty solid model.  Facial shape is very similar to Olympia.  Her bundles have quality products and her slim figure is a nice change compared to the mostly curvy models we've gotten-like Lauryn 9.  Definitely recommend if you can afford the Addon bundle.

I like her because of her build. That's not the same as me celebrating her build, but she will come in useful. We don't tend to get much variance in body builds - men or women, so she fills a hole and should be good to mix in to other morphs in pursuit of diversity.

Harpy theme is welcome too. Don't think I'll pick it or her main bundle up straight away as they're quite pricey and the discount buy-ins don't do it for me. I'll see what arrives tomorrow and over the weekend, and if they're no better or worse, I'll wait until another sale.

I don't get why so many people are calling her skinny. Slim, yes, skinny, no. I really like the face. And the wings and their expansioins are what are really interesting me. I wonder how well they will work on earlier generations. I'm still using the discontinued Epic Wings for Genesis for my winged renders, but I'd like a bit more variety.

  • The talons are a big letdown.  There's plenty of clawed feet out there, but proper talons are rare.  I'll need to keep waiting for RawArt to update his Harpy for Genesis 8 Female.

She's the kind of character that can be asked about by Napoleon, "Does Ava have large talons?"

Now that I look at her, she reminds me of a famous Beverly Hills 90210 actress...

  • Love Ava 9 bundle, and the recently release Lyna Cyberpunk girl. Will get them all once got the $$$

I've known girls that skinny in real life who were perfectly healthy, so she's still on the afe size of anorexic... but she's also nothing that couldn't be approximated with a few dial spins, while the base texture is yet another caucasian female base...  Meanwhile, the ADD-On bundle feels like a lot less than the sum of it's parts, as the "Harpy" elements all feel like one product divided into three-four separate packages after the fact... I mean, seriously, a product called Harpy that doesn't even come with wings as part of the base?  And a seperate pack for just the hands and feet? You're looking cheap again DAZ.    ,

She reminds me of Giancarlo Esposito.

I wonder if the discount will *decrease* tomorrow when the bundles move from Debut New (30% off w/DFAD) to Still New (20% off w/DFAD). I would think so, and that would mean that waiting for a better DFAD item would result in a worse discount.

But with prices this high, if the all-too-common special coupon or wishlist/cart discount is posted tomorrow or over the weekend, buying today risks drastically overpaying. Daz makes it so difficult to have a pleasant shopping experience here.
Looks like the price increased as expected, and no relevant additional discounts were posted. Bold sales strategy: "Wasn't swayed to buy yesterday? How about paying more today?"

Anyway, oddly enough, the renders here are giving me a better impression of the body shape but a worse impression of the face.

If you thought Ava was thin, her Arya form is much thinner.  I have her right next to Ava for a comparison.  Looks deliberately designed to be extremely skinny, maybe anorexic.  I don't like it.

    Skinny figures trigger some folks.

Yeah. As a whole I'm not a fan of the premier-only forms because they can be easily achieved through morphing tools I already have. Its usually a body/height morph plus a different percentage in the head. It's not why I have Premier, but it definitely wouldn't help push someone over the fence to get it.

Yuck, terrible. But quite suitable for a harpy!

I have “Arya” too, but not Ava 9 (yet?). Instead, I opted for the add-on bundle, which is simply stunning with the talons and Arki's wings and feather outfit. Now, of course, I'm wondering whether Arya can also be used on other G9 figures...

I rather like her addition to the gene pool.  Skinny but not "Death 9" emaciated.  Her face is fairly unique.  I've experimented mixing it with other head morphs for some neat combinations.  Used her to test some new lighting and props I'm working on and here's an early result:

Second image is Ava 9 head at 50% mixed with Chloe 9 at 25% and Kaede 9 at 20%.

Well hold up now, here I was trying to find these in the promos. They are stunning! Am I missing something? Are these promos or just things you made after release?

I'm not surprised to see this character has gained some attention, and I'm glad to see a thinner model for once.

This is exactly the sort of thing I was getting at in the 'Bluejaunte Appreciation' thread.  It's important to have these figure types, because as Ainm pints out on the previous page, they add diversity to the morph pool, and as NewGuy just demonstrated perfectly, things like shoulder definition look far more realistic than the usual 'bent pipe' effect we see on far too many characters.

But when we have characters like this, characters with a more visible bone structure to blend in, we have greater options for realism.

I like Ava well enough.  I like her as is, or mixed with others.  She's an awesome addition to the pool!

That's a good point I think. Thanks for bringing it up, I hadn't thought about things this way before.

She is very nice but I am disappointed that her "Harpy" person is just wings. That's not what the Harpies I rememberr in those old school books looked like.

I picked up the wings and texture expansions. They are perfect for my needs. I haven't used the arm wings yet, but the double and triple presets have been very useful. I still haven't found the Genesis 9 clone for Genesis 8 after updating D/S, but I've found a workaround that suits me. The pose controls are very extensive; I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of these.

And NOW we ge those feet talons in Rawart's Bawkman.
