Ava 9 Joins DAZ Studio...

Ava 9 HD Character Bundle is out.

Interesting texture. Not sure about the shape. Will probably pass until there is a massive discount.

I like the texture and the shape mix examples. Not a fan of the default shape.

    The harpy looks great.

Been wanting a G9 harpy. Glad I can grab just the talons, for now.

I love the Harpy parts and theme. Not a fan of the emaciated default shape and her being yet another another another another white young skinny XXXS female.

It's like her and half of her Addon Bundle are stylized and plastic looking and the other half tries to stick to realism.

Probably get the loose harpy parts and wait for a sale or something.

The bundles look great, but they're expensive, and the only available discount seems to require purchasing a Daz+ For A Day item. I wouldn't mind the goddess outfit or cyberpunk tattoos, but those releases don't support interactive licenses, so I'd prefer to avoid purchasing them. (IMO, items that feature as requirements for major promotions should be required to support all major Daz licenses.)

I wonder if the discount will *decrease* tomorrow when the bundles move from Debut New (30% off w/DFAD) to Still New (20% off w/DFAD). I would think so, and that would mean that waiting for a better DFAD item would result in a worse discount.

But with prices this high, if the all-too-common special coupon or wishlist/cart discount is posted tomorrow or over the weekend, buying today risks drastically overpaying. Daz makes it so difficult to have a pleasant shopping experience here.

I'll be skipping this one for now because of the crappy sale conditions above, but the harpy concept is quite interesting. Not something that I would have expected Daz to greenlight for a character bundle, but I'm pleased to see it.

I'm not a fan of her shape, but I think she looks nice. Again, the addon bundle looks better/more interesting

In her human form she reminds me of the 'Who on earth are they's?' you see posing on red carpets in all the 'news flashes' of posh Gala's and society events. They're usually over made-up, desiccated, stick figures partly inside expensive dresses who seem to have an expectation that they're recognised.

The harpie version seems passable and I rather like the feather dress. I have many more characters the dress would look good on in G8F form, so maybe I've at last found the killer (only?) bit of clothing to get the MMX G9 Clones for all product.

    Regards,

    Richard

I don't know which clones are better (Daz or MMX) but if it's only to use a Genesis 9 outfit with Genesis 8, Daz added Genesis 9 autofit clones (and various templates) to Genesis 8 a couple of months ago.

MMX Clones still is the only way to get pre-made Genesis 9 autofit clones for the first three Genesis generations though.

Ahh. I missed the update - I don't do DIM and my machine was dead from September to last Friday. I'll download the new G8 Starter essentials then, thanks.

    Regards,

    Richard

Fantastic release today.  I wasn't expecting a harpy theme with angelic side features/addons.  And Ava herself looks like a smaller, more petite version of Olympia.  I sent way too much today but I love the products.  I'll post some renders later.

I don't care for the figure, much too skinny and also kindau unfriendly face, to me at least, but I do like the feathery dress and that the wings set has one pair fhat is actually attached to the arms, as if they were incorporated in the wings. Been waiting for something like that, very nice. - Am wondering, though, why the Avello texture add-on for the dress would the other texture add-on? Doesn't make sense, no?

She is pretty darn skinny, but overall, I do like her overall look when clothed. I'm not into the add-on bundle though, maybe the harpy add, but not the rest. I rejoined Premier and built up tokens, plus the $10 coupon, buying the D+FAD got her in my cart for $6.xx but then I realized that some of the DO products were discount so threw a couple in my cart and right now the Ava 9 Charcter Bundle is sitting at $9.38.

I see this one working VERY well with LchBch's more sci-fi-esque skin textures, the aestetic almost fits perfectly. I look forward to buying it.

It could be that it uses some of the texture maps from the other add-on. Or that might be an error and the other add-on was supposed to be a related item, not required. I'll ask in the sales errors thread.

There's a vendor with that name at Renderhub, I assume that's who they're referring to.

thanks..did not find anyone there with that vendor name, unless its an abbreviation or something.

I like her because of her build. That's not the same as me celebrating her build, but she will come in useful. We don't tend to get much variance in body builds - men or women, so she fills a hole and should be good to mix in to other morphs in pursuit of diversity.

Harpy theme is welcome too. Don't think I'll pick it or her main bundle up straight away as they're quite pricey and the discount buy-ins don't do it for me. I'll see what arrives tomorrow and over the weekend, and if they're no better or worse, I'll wait until another sale.

Thanks to the both of you. I used DAZ search on "wet" and it returned 0 results.

couple of images of Ava 9. One is just genreric  the other utilizes the new tats from CyberPunk Collective Tattoos for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D. Both have this clothing item - dForce Summer Code Outfit for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D Hair is dForce Classic Wet Hair for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Females | Daz 3D

One thing I've noticed are the eye highlights. Both have a blue 3 bar deal. I have another cooking to see if its baked into the textures of AVA. these are pretty large images, just so you know, but click them.I'm not seeing all that much wow factor in the textures. Pretty vanilla to me.

  • She looks to me like Jamie's bad girlfriend from the last season of Yellowstone, lol.

OK --- these new renders do not have the blue lines i the eyes. That's good. I like the thing body in the bikini shot. She doesn't really look emaciated to me. One other close up for the kicks.

Used to be, now they've moved elsewhere. (But just googling the name works great.) They've only got a couple figures/skins that I'm aware of, Mayfly and Neon Devil, but their figures' styles work supremely for more androgynous body forms - my first thought given their themes was like a bolldly-colored Aeon Flux (cartoon, not movie). There's a similarity in Ava's face, and the body is spidery enough for the right niche of aesthetic. I don't get paid for another week, otherwise I'd flood the place with renders.

Thanks for the renders, @daveso! The 3 quarter shot seems to reveal that her eyeball is too small on the outside corner.

Whatta FACE! So much character. "I'm not evil; I'm just sculpted this way." She would need to be skinny with a face like that. My family has lotsa skinny girls who are that way without trying. They caught a lotta flack for it growing up. Hopefully, Shimuzu will make a pose set just for Ava.

Daz has reverted to giving us non-HD HD. Heavenly Council may replace The Legend as my go-to armour. Aello Dress is exactly what I've wanted for so long, and the add-on textures give me the odd colour scheme I needed. Arki has perfected wing-making and gives me the Biblical cherubim 6-wing configuration in Aello Wings. Don't need a harpy, but the most recent one I own is for V4.
