    mermaid - beautifully done abstract.

Fencepost52 - that came out excellent Art, great snake-like object.

Two terrains from High Resolution Terrains 2 with a material from Gritstone Hills and in front of the camera the EWL (extreme wide-angle lens) from Lenses and Filters covers 114° in the diagonal. The clouds are from the CloudSphere8 and the ambient light by the belonging HDRI from the Sky Toolbox, the key light by the sun. A huge boulder of unknown origin in a wide plane.

    Great pictures from everybody.

I wanted to use two vases from Daz3D. Glass material is from Bill's glass. Light comes from a square dome light and HDRI. Rendertime a few hours, but Antialiasing... an additional 20 hours.

    Two Vases

Horo - Wings3D Insect is brilliant ! A huge boulder is wonderful, sky is excellent !

Mermaid - Two spheres and a cylinder render is splendid !

    Fencepost52 - Snake is amazing !

Electro-Elvis - Cat tipping over the vase gave me a good laugh, lovely render !

Thanks Electro-Elvis, fabulous render with the vases, the lighting is fantastic. I think these were a recent freebie. To my disappointment there were no object files.sad

    Bunyip02 thanks.

Electro-Elvis - very nicely lit indoor scene. Sometimes rendering Premium with 9 or 16 rpp (rays per pixel) is faster than regular. I usually select a critical part and plop-render that part, noting the time and repeat it with another render setting to get an idea what renders faster and look at the difference. I think the square dome light inside a closed room is ideal, if an HDRI is used, the light does not penetrate the walls - except they are set to no shadow casting, or the HDRI has the shadows switched off, or is inside the room but then the room must be positioned so that the HDRI from Inside (at location 0/0/0) is within the room.

    Bunyip02 - thank you

Wonderful work, guys and galls. Been holidaying, so wasn't able to check or contribute. But I notice you others are still going strong!

The terrain is self-made, the material from Gritty Texture Tiles and matching terrain, and the sky from Advanced Layered Skies

Hi everyone, I was on vacation again but back now.  Thanks for sharing your artwork mermaid, Horo, Elvis and Art.  I'm going to try making an image that isn't an abstract.  Don't want to bore people with my abby spheres.

Ugh, I logged in as Burpee, my old account from back at Daz Studio 2.

Also, Past as Future, I like the glass material on your 'hourglass.'

Hey gang, long time no post. Took a break from art to focus on my mental health. I'm hoping to get back into a groove soon!!
Here's a mousepad I just finished for myself. Text is from wikipedia (source for their text is cited), and wind turbines are a model by dondon19 on cgtrader.

The terrain is from Terrain Stacking with a material from the same set. The grass is a self made terrain with a self made material as well, the water is the ground plane again with my own material. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI from High Resolution Terrains 4 and the key light by the sun. A valley in a mountainous region in the moonlight.

I can't remember if I shared this before; a simple scene using the ShoalofFish Hdri by Horo and a submarine (freebie) viewed thru the GWL.

The object in the centre is a Strange Object by Steven Ray, both left and right and above the screen were made in Wings3D. All have a special glassy material consisting of a positive and a negative Hypertexture. Specular from the WhiteSphereB7 HDRI and from the sun in the zenith from which also the light for the shadows comes.

Wow Horo, this render is outstanding, beautifully done.

I played with this abstract by Alymac (ex ShareCG) I modified the materials and the position of some of the objects. The golden one is Alymac’s example, it’s a fantastic setup, and I'm not sure if I can share the file here. It was a freebie from ShareCG

mermaid - thank you. This is a great abstract you made from an art work of Alymac (I do not know him/her).
