Updating Geometry lasting forever with Kintsugi inspired skin builder for G9
UPDATE: I removed almost everything from the scene. It turns out the Kintsugi geoshell I'm using is the reason. Remove it and everything works fine. Put it in the scene and it hangs on render with no info. There are no errors at all in the log. It just loads a bunch of textures, 7.2GB according to task manager, and then hangs at the updating Geometry stage. https://www.daz3d.com/kintsugi-inspired-skin-builder-for-genesis-9
The weird thing now is I've done renders with this asset before. I have no idea what changed.

I will never understand this. Daz spent over an hour "Updating Geometry". 3 or 4 CPU cores ran at 100% utilization during that time. Nothing updated in the log during all that time.
Of course, I'd love to have an explanation of what the VDB warnings mean as well:

Where do I even begin to look for this? I rendered this file earlier this morning with a different camera. No issues. 8 minutes tops.

I completely removed the VDB spell effect from the scene file and it still hangs. There are a handful of CPU busy, but not pegged at 100%. The GPU is 0%.

Does it clear up if you disable canvasses?
I'm not using canvases at all. I've reduced the scene to a single figure. A room. And the Kintsugi shell. It hangs. But I've done other renders with the same kintsugi shell asset.

My next step is start with a blank scene and create everything from scratch to see what happens. This will be tedious.
It's definitely something wrong with the kintsugi asset.
I just create a new scene. Empty.
Create a figure using People\Genesis 9\Character\Pfx Valeria.duf
Move some sliders

Render. no problems, tool only 1 minute. (No cameras or lights are in the scene file. I assume the Ruins500b hdri is lighting the scene.)
Add Kintsugi Geoshell.
Render. It hangs.

I guess I should uninstall the kintsugi asset and reinstall it? Not sure what's left.
In DIM, uninstall, delete. Download, install. Open file with figure apply geoshell.
What kills me is the viewport IRAY rendering works just fine, see attached.
Render. Same issue.
I'm not sure what this is but it's the only thing interesting in the logs. This log entry has never happened before until just now.

The saga continues. New scene. Create a G9 base figure. Apply Kintsugi geoshell. Renders just fine.
Apply Pfx Valeria body/head. Renders just fine.
Add all the other shape modifications. Renders just fine.
Somehow, starting with Pfx Valeria and making shape morphs is different from starting with G9 Base adding Pfx Valeria shape morphs and then other shape morphs.
