    Very nice, @AnEye4Art

Now you can use the possibilities of your computer hardware to the max.

    Oh, yes, so much fun.

    Another simple example....

Can you animate those spaceships? Make them travel along the surface of the planet keeping their altitude and angle from the planet's soil?

    Interesting question, @Imago

I have no idea, how to do it in Daz Studio.

The plugin itself should have that kind of option, since it's a complex opreation otherwise.

If it can't animate stuff along the surfaces, like swarming ants or rolling marbles, it sadly adds nothing to the previous version.

I am really enjoying pushing ultrascatter2, and so far it delivers.

Agree. I am addicted to UltraScatter2 and looking forward to using it all the time.

The best of the best tool for Daz Studio.

I had to get a better computer and I'm glad that I did. Because creating demanding, high-poly scenes are a lot easier.

Good job, Artini. I like the entire scene, but mostly the mixed vegetation. Ultrascatter2's layering ability is a great addition that I plan on using a lot more of.

Maybe this is possible already, but the ability to save an ultrascenery file to use in ultrascatter2, then open it, edit the layers, and scatter. Imagine the endless possibilities!!

    Nice work, Artini.

    Thank you, @AnEye4Art

Have anybody tried custom Image Map to limit scattering of instances to selected white areas on the map.

I have tried, but cannot figure out what mapping is used.

In UltraScenery2 I have just made a top view render of the terrain generated,

painted in the Gimp white areas, where I wanted the instances to be generated,

then inverted the selection of the whites and filled the rest with black.

    UltraScatter2 behaves differently.

I used a black and white splatmap to isolate where I want to limit the scatter. I invert it to get the scatter in the white areas. But otherwise it works for me.

That should still work in UltraScatter2 - but maybe you might need to change the Image Map projection to "Y (top/bottom)" to force a top down projection.

Thanks for the tips. I will try that.

I almost hate to ask, but: Does it work in DS4.21.0.5 or does it need a newer version? (I have UltraSceneryXT and USC2 and both of those work there).

    It should*

*although I haven't tested on older versions but I'm not using any new features so should almost work back to 4.5

     Hi,

I tried to use this in DS 4.10, but it crashed.

So I tried using DS 4.22, although it worked, when going down the scatter options, it does not show what the option are. Have attached a screen grab.

Just tried ds 4.24. Same problem, options not named. Running DS on win11.

OK, my bad with the later versions, I did not copy the help files over, and the plugin is taking the text for the options from there.

Yes, it works when I change the Image Map projection to "Y (top/bottom)" to force a top down projection,

as @HowieFarkes suggested. I will make more tests and will post some results, when I will get more time.

Have put some birds on to the hand sculpture.

Any idea about how to limit orientation of the birds to mostly horizontal and not the upside down?

I'm not an expert, but unwrap the hand and paint the mask on it in gimp or Photo shop to get the birds where you want them?

    Thanks.

I think, probably I need to paint a map over UV mapping of the object.

Use the Slope distribution modifier. Set "Min" to 0 and "Max" to 30 and work from there. Much easier than playing around with making an image map,

    Thanks. @HowieFarkes

I have figured it myself and applied it to my previous image.

Image maps works for me only for simple objects, like Daz Studio primitives.
