Every time I look into the DAZ Store I see new poses, just to much of the same thing! I wish designers would create new models and and buildings, animals etch... and stop with the "New Poses we have to much of that already!

I don't have a problem with the new poses products, but I agree I'd like to see new characters. Specifically new G2M characters with Iray skin shaders. As far as I can tell, only Fred Winkler has released G2M characters with Iray shaders, FW Derek HD and FW Alfred HD, and they use the same skin and shaders. (Alfred comes with fiber mesh facial hair, including eyebrows, though, and that's really cool.) But I'd like to see some variations in skins: lighter, darker, freckled, older... Older would be nice for G2F, as well. How about some 40 yr olds? We've got lots of 20-somethings, and a few old and wizened. I'd love one or two in between. With Iray shaders, as well as 3Delight, of course.

I did notice Alfred and Derek looked kind of similar. Huh. Same skin? Interesting.
I don't need anymore poses since I have converted all the ones I had. I will buy them if they are really useful, or prop specific.
I'm just tired of the mostly female content. Right now, my female content needs have been more than met. =-)
Agreed. I could see a few more animals. An updated house Cat would be nice. I'd bite for that.
How about some updated dogs ? And I would really love a cocker spaniel.
I compared the mats in photoshop. It looks like Alfred has another skin overlayed on Derek's skin. Mind you, they both look very good. And... There are definite differences in the face sculpture. And Alfred has completely different eye mats. He also comes with a face mat without eyebrows and the fibermesh eyebrows are really nice. There's nothing wrong with the beard and mustache, either, although I have both Unshaven and Unshaven 2. I think the two could easily be passed off as brothers, or cousins.
And I was only a tiny bit disappointed with Alfred's skin shaders, but that's only because I started applying Iray materials to characters without Iray shaders, so I was hoping for another Iray skin shader set for the guys. So far, I have only the Derek/Alfred shaders.
I really do hope we see more G2M characters with Iray materials before G3M comes out. But I'm not holding my breath.
DAZ Horse 3, DAZ Big Cat 3, DAZ Dog 3, DAZ Cat 3...
Well, it's more than about time we got DAZ Dog 2 and DAZ Cat 2. But considering the useless blocks that they tried to pass off as paws on the DAZ Big Cat 2, I'm resigned to waiting for a 3rd party to step into that gap.
I'm actually a bit surprised no one has made a morph for the Big Cat's feet. Or a kitty cat morph. It doesn't look that hard... You wouldn't have to start from scratch.
Horse 2... I would've used so much more if they made working tack.
I need versatility with the male figures. Would like a skin pack. I rarely use characters as they are, but a skin pack would be useful. Would like fantasy male skins, that didn't have a painted on look. Real textures and scales, and whatever. But less the war paint or makeup look, and more, "I actually have stripses or scales" look.
Agreed, I get lots of use out of the horse1 and finally picked up horse 2 in a sale and still haven't used it once. Same for the big cats, use the first version quite a bit and the unrealistic feet kept me from even considering the big cat2 package. Although I can see a use for a new dog and cat package, I am in no hurry for any 3rd version myself.
I wouldn't mind a new safari package with a "realistic" looking elephant, rhino, hippo, zebra, cape buffalo and even a few antelopes (and poses) .
Chimera 2? :D
Welcome to Daz.
PAs makes what sells; male stuff, apparently, sells less well. No clue on animals. I have close to zero use, although a really good cat I would likely buy - I don't consider what is available as being good, never mind really good, but that is just my opinion. Actually a really good cat to go with the 'Hag' I just bought would be cool.
I've never seen much use for all the poses sets either. I've got a bunch of poses from various bundles and they are more than enough to use as a start and change into the specific pose I want.
But fiddling with poses is time consuming and yesterday I actually bought the http://www.daz3d.com/various-poses-3 . There's two iconic facepalm poses in it and it also had one that's spot on for a scene I'm currently working on. Very convenient. And I suppose that's why we use premade poses, out of convenience, and sometime we find that even worth paying for.
Yup; poses come via pro bundles, or i13; his sets are versatile, with partials and props too.
I would like some more normal clothes. Clothes that we see normal people wearing in the street.
and...
Yes, I almost wrote that too. Yes dogs would be nice, some updated ones. I'll take a Cocker spaniel as well, also a Britney Spaniel and an Irish setter.
My last G2M Jarek has Iray shaders with roughness and normal maps.
Thank you! I've put him in my wishlist for now... I need to fatten up my wallet before I start spending again. Loved the PA Festival, but it did a number on my discretionary funds... and some not-so-discretionary... Oops.

I would love to see a new line-up of Dogs from DAZ and Cats that would be great. Also normal clothes would be great to see, more normal clothes the people where today and they should look natural.
No dogs or cats, but AM just released a Koala! He is so cute, I'm tempted to buy him, even though I have no need of a koala! lol
Yeh, looks great; a cat I would have bought looking so good.
Only issue is, I don't have LaMH.
The LAMH player is free as far as I know. You don't need the paid version to use the presets. They're not Iray compatible though, without some resource-intensive work-rounds. I'm holding out for AMs new wolf, which looks amazing :)
Depending on your scene, it may be possible to render part of the scene with 3Delight, and the rest with Iray. Then put the layers together in Photoshop or Gimp.
And yes, the LAMH player is free.
It is disappointing that not IRAY compatable. And I remember trying to get hair as an object into Daz using Garibaldi, and Daz was unusable, I should try now I have a better card vor viewport use.
I'd likely wair until IRAY can handle Garibaldi and/or LaMH.
Not compatable? What happens when you try to render the hair with Iray?
The hair won't show up in iray. You have to pose the figure, then export the LAMH hair as an object, then reimport it into the scene. Unfortunately the object size can be so large as to seize up more modest machines. I think AM was working on a solution but I haven't heard anything lately.
Thanks.
From the creator's "mouth":
"LAMH doesn't support Iray 'natively' simply because Iray doesn't feature hair primitives yet."
"I have made a simple tutorial here: http://youtu.be/r2BUfsF8qlI it shows how to export and render the koala with Iray, but the procedure can be used with all the other LAMH based models."

But I don't know if the free LAMH player will export to obj. You could ask him at the end of the thread...
You could use the LAMH Player eventually, which is free :)
Hello, yes the free LAMH Player does support export to OBJ. It's a one-click operation after which, the fur is converted into OBJ plus texture, and it's ready to be rendered in Iray.
Correct. We are waiting nvidia to add a hair primitive to Iray, so that we can send LAMH data directly to the render engine without the need of export to OBJ.
