Oh, I was likely off... "Recent" and "Legacy" also all seem to be 50% off. Adding an "Epic" new release to the cart does cause the "Epic" item discount to increase from 30% to 51%, but the "Current", "Recent", and "Legacy" items all stay at 50% off. So, I'm at a loss. Maybe I've misread the above Phase 1 screenshot or there's missing information somewhere in the phantom phase page. I assume this final phase will stay beyond today anyway? If so, maybe I'll wait and see if anything else happens to stack with it...
I didn't buy an epic New Release because the sale coupons would not work with anything. Gave up trying. This has to be the most frustrating sale ever with no clear instructions on the phases or expiry of coupons not to mention that whatever phase the front pages ssaid I always get the phase 4 page when I click on it
Well, hopefully it will all be over at the end of the day - barring a surprise Phase 0 sale extension!
You're leading things dangerously close to Phase –1, barbult. Unsure if that would count as going back to the future or forward to the past (and not certain I wish to find out!)
What happened to "Buying any “Epic” New Release early Unlocks Savings in each phase"?
Also, I still can't actually see the Phase 1 page despite trying on two browsers and clearing browsing data.
I give up.
...
I've never heard of "phases" counting backwards anyway. Phase 1 of any project is always the beginning. Starting with phase 4 should have given us a clue that this was never going to go right.
I think it's also to make sure that Daz+/Premier members can't use the weekly & monthly freebies to trigger deals. That happened sometimes before that clause was added. I only know because I got a couple surprise discounts as a member when the only New item carted was one of the current Daz+ freebies.
Oh, you've may have discovered their long tem master plan.
Daz dangled the chance to get one item off my 60+ wishlist at 90% IF I jumped through unclear hoops. So I bought an Epic new release on Day 1, I then got 3 hairs that I did not really want discounted, then I got a pose set, again, not something I wanted but thought it might help the coupon work. I did 3 of the 4 phases, FINAL-WISH and RECENT-WISH have not worked.
On principle, I will not purchase that item unless it is at a minimim 90% off. Which goes completely against my OCD and wanting to clear my wishlist.
Can we have a normal sale soon?
Heh... my brother still does that when he feels like being a playful brat. We're both in our 40's. I probably would, too, except that I'm usually doing pretty well to just get ONE round of wrapping done for all the Yule presents.
Not exactly a sale, per se, but I find it amusing how often Daz ads are popping up on YouTube now. Seriously, they don't need to spend money to try to sell me on it. I'm here. (Although at least they're mercifully brief, unlike the health/weightloss whatever nonsense.)
Also, I keep getting ads in Gmail advertising products from the store... that I've already gotten. Sorry, Daz. Not gonna go back and buy it a second time.
(Targeted marketing my left foot...)
Well since there are no new releaes right now and that Ultrascatter Promo was launched "midday", I guess it is fair to assume that DAZ has shifted their update slot some hours. Would be nice from DAZ to at least inform the community on any changes though.
Read the screen again. It says If you OWN an epic new release. Not if one is in your cart. You have to have checked out a new release already to get the savings on current/recent/legacy items. And those percentages were the same in phase 1 and 2. (Not that I can see the phase 1 page anywhere but in the screen shot posted by Richard.)
Now Cris Palomino doesn't have to stay up all night.
Was mentioned on the reporting thread that Daz is experimenting with a 10 AM Daz-time launch for new sales.
I have reread the screenshot. Respectfully, I believe you missed the text above the white box and the relative asterisk below. I was referring to the parts that read:
GET AN EXTRA
30% off*
Any "Epic" New Release and any "Epic" Artist Store Item when bought together
(only for customers that have yet to buy any "Epic" New Releases)
[...]
*Items must be simultaneously in cart for discount to apply.
As I said, I was getting the extra 30% off for a New Release but not for an Artist Store Item which I inferred (perhaps wrongly) should have applied to both.
Even if that is probably the most useful thread here in the forum it doesn't can't really count as an "official DAZ source" and with it probably being the only place to find that info all the non-forum goers are left in the dark about the reason for the shop not updating at the usual time they expect.
But of course it's very normal DAZland-ish procedure
Did they change the time new products (and respective sale) renew (due to the .60 cents mistake, I guess...)?
Yes, as a trial
Hmmm?
A recent mistake, which lasted around an hour during which instead of having a 60% discount, products from PAs participating in that day sale had their prices set at $0.60.
That might be one of the factors, but that's far from the only sale not working correctly we've had recently.
Ouch. That must have really hurt. I think it's a great move if the store ends at 10am. On May 10th I had 12 coupons, and a cart with 5 items (mostly new releases) in it. I opened a second cart cleared it and and bought a gift card and the required 'two new releases' . . . characters I did not want or need. I hastily transfered the opriginal 5 new release items, but because I had one minute to go, stopped at 4 of the 5 and checked out using 8 coupons. It seemed to take forever. Then, lo and behold, I found myself with a processed cart at higher prices and only 3 coupons left. On checkout it obviously chewed up the 8 tokens then processed the 5. I submitted a refund at 12.04 am and heard nothing back. Obviously these 'as the clock turn errors' are causing a huge toll and turning profits into losses, plus an excessive workload for customer support. I often throw a few things in the cart at 6-7 am and move on to helping my hubby (100% disabled), writing books or building catios or aviaries or she sheds. I finish the cart at 11.30-11.15 DAZ time and check out and call it a night. I rarely ask for purchase credits, but I have for a midnight cart glitch and repurchased them later. Less errors means less work for the mods, the team and even us. Of course if people did buy 60% off items for 60 cents (an obvious error) I doubt they taxed support with a refund request but they do seem overloaded these days. Never had to wait 10+ days for a simple return ever.
It doesn't seem to have turned yet.
I was just noting that over in the Sales thread as well. Maybe they're still experimenting?
Not saying it is, hence why I clipped that part of OP's message. Just confirming the assumption made. Agreed there could've been some communication, but... Daz does what Daz does.
