dForce for victoria 4 clothing

hello everyone.
is it possible to apply dforce to a victoria 4 dress ?

i added a dforce modifier, but the dress splits into many pieces, as if it was created by joining many meshes

As you have fiound, it is possible, but, as you have also found, not every non-dynamic item will work. It is quite common for older items byu be made of separate pieces - the fixes would be to add a dGForce add-on to stitch the loose bits together, vertex by vertex (e.g. using http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/geometry/generate_polyline_dynamic_surface_addon/start or a modeller) or simply to export the model as OBJ and join the parts in a modelling application (but then any morphs would have to be redone as the vertex count would chnage, and you might lose the UV mapping that tells textures how to apply).

If the skirt part is one piece, you can add a weightmap node, and then paint it so only the skirt is red.

Yep, possiible, but as they already pointed out, you need to add up a weight map, and even that may not help you if you there are things like intersecting meshes -  if that is the case, maybe you can try to use meshgrabber or fit control to avoid the  intersection, or eventually trying to neutralise the effect of dForce in part of the mesh using the weight map.
I don't remember if I already did it with something for V4, but I did it recently with something that was originally meant for Genesis 2 and I was using (with autofit clones) on G8F, and it came out great.
