I'm finally seeing the 'price low to high' option sort on the (real) sale price instead of the (fictional, because no one should buy there unless they'll miss a deadline otherwise) list price. That is an improvement.

I feel like I should do a Green Eggs and Ham parody (except for the bit at the end where he changes his mind).

Speaking of which, I've been seeing LD repeats, or near-repeats, since Oh-Nevermind-ness started. Anybody else seeing this? By near-repeats, I mean things like Mrs. Chow, Mrs. Chow Pro, & Mrs. Chow Starter all offered within 24 hours. (After seeing today's sales page, maybe I should have bought one.)

    +1

PS: please do the parody! Please.

I do not like the Door Prize deals
I do not find that it appeals
    Scrolling lists just isn't fun
I would not, when you offered one
I would not when you offer three
I would not pay your $2.50
I would not, when discounts don't stack
Asking again won't make me crack!
The only thing about this that's mad
Is Daz, for thinking it's not bad

(not my finest work, but hope it brings a smile)

I'm just not sure what the value is of "today, pick 3 of the same things that you've been looking at for the past week. And if you don't don't pick 3 today, you'll still have 28 (at the very least) chances to buy the same items."

This is the category of "Sure, I'll pick up an environment I might use someday, if I didn't buy anything yesterday and I'm not interested in anything today, just to keep the gold star for tomorrow." I'm in no hurry to clear out those maybe-someday items.

Thats $1.51 more than me! Worst sale ever for those who aren't newbies and Premier. Hello Daz, please consider your long time customers!

I haven't gotten anything in 2025 (with the exception of DO's with my monthly $6 free coupon) except that one nice flash sale at the end of January.  MM so far has absolutely killed my consumer spirit, and after how the Premier sale went last fall, I'm not holding out much hope for the one in June.

    Maybe the PA sale?

once I realised the doorguster sales never change, I lost all enthusiasm

are a couple things in my wishlist there but at 2.99 for what they are, not much of a discount

I'm also confused on how it's a door prize. Absolutely nothing about them matches the definition of a door prize.

    From https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/door prize:
a prize awarded to the holder of a winning ticket passed out at the entrance to an entertainment or function

I've been making very heavy use of the advanced Daz Deals plugin "Hide this product from listings" button; at the rate I'm going I should have all the 'doorbusters' I don't already own hidden with the possible exception of 6 to 10 items. I'll never have to slog my way thorugh them in future sales.

I'm sorry, not interested. Any "sale" that requires a person to have purchased within the last two days, doesn't interest me. Last year I spent a small fortune, only to be presented with coal in the Christmas December sale, so my purchases have been no where near what that have been in the past and I doubt if they will ever be more than a couple of dollars here or there going forward. I beleive sales should reward ongoing customers not just spend a dollar and get great discounts when someone spends thousands over a year and gets nothing.

btw, you can simply purchase a Gift card for $1.01 to maintain the Gold Star discount. I've only had to do that once so far, but it does work. I tried it yesterday and I maintained my full 50% discount today. Before that, my last "real" purchase was on the 28th.

For the period 14 December 2023 to 4 April 2024 I spent $1,029.73 Australia dollars in the Daz store. As a result of the lack of consideration to a loyal customer during the 2024 Christmas December sales and give-aways. (Where I only received coal) my purchases from 14 December 2024 to 4 April 2025 is $63.17 Australia Dollars. That's, unfortunately, a lot of hard working vendors missing out on sales due to the marketing and sales departments not rewarding loyal, PAYING customers.

    Yes, yes it is.

Also it's still March Oh-Nevermind-ness. Stonemason's work is as great as ever but the look of Futura, sad to say, does nothing for me.  The only new think I've looked at for more than 2 seconds is https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-arab-thobe-outfit-for-genesis-9 & I wishlisted it.

My biggest problem with March Madness is that it's only as good as the new releases, because they're a requirement for any further meaningful discount. So, not only I have to be interested in a new release (in the past few days I wasn't), but I also have to be willing to pay the release price (minut 30% or 50% depending on whether I bought something for the golden ticket), and that's even harder. Many new items fall into the category of "might maybe buy one day" and not "omg, this is gorgeous, awesome, and stunning and I simply have to have it NOW".

Which means I open the sales page, spend maybe 10-15 minutes looking at new releases, and I'm done for the day.

No excitement of extra stacking (golden ticket is nice, but you have to get it a day or two before you actually might want to buy something, so it's not really reliable) and no excitement of browsing through categories to see what I want. On top of that, coupons for the Mad Door thingie, coupons for other stuff (the 10% Mad Weekender one) meaning you neither can build a bigger cart (only one coupon per cart) to maybe get some tokens to sweeten the deal nor you can use your membership coupons to sweeten the deal.

    Yup. All of this.

On the bright side, instead of trying to figure out a good cart, I've spent my time fussing with a render idea I've had for a while, and I finally got everything in the scene to a point that I'm satisfied with it. Time to start making myself some new desktop wallpapers!

It seemed like a good sale in the first few days, but today I'm a bit disappointed. Yesterday I bought an item (Mad-door) and postponed the purchase of other items until today to take advantage of the discount, convinced that the discounts on PA items would rotate, while those on DO would not. I made a mistake in my evaluation and the "DAZ original" items that I intended to buy and that yesterday had a discount of around 70%, today went back to their normal price, becoming out of my budget, even with the accumulated discount (10%). I will have to wait for the discounts to return to buy them. I would like to suggest that DAZ keep the discounts from last weekend, at least on DO, for the entire duration of the sale.

Friday to Sunday were catch-up days for items released earlier, today is a more normal day with artists in the new/still new sections being featured.

Thanks for the reply, can I hope that the "catch-up days" will return during this sales period?
I also ask if there is a sale planned on the wish-list and gift cards.
    Thanks

Thank you.  I've also been confused as why Daz calls that group of old assets Door Prizes.  Sometimes the names of their promotions are inconceivable!

  • RangerRickRangerRick Posts: 316

I can't complain. DAZ has been saving me a lot of money so far this sale with their decisions.  Sadly, the lack of decent Gift Card sales for a while now has been the biggest impedment to my spending.  If they had appealing Gift Card promotions I would have picked up a lot more stuff rather than just dropping them in my wishlist. A baseline GC promotion would be the 10/15/20% off $100/150/200+ Gift Cards with no buy-in, no hoops to jump through, not a flash promo that only lasted while I was sleeping, etc.  I'm ready to toss a couple items in the cart now but I need a Gift Card first and I feel like if I buy one without a discount then a promo will pop up and I'll feel like I've wasted my money.  The less fun a sale is the less money I'll spend.  Unless, I have store credit from a GC then I might as well pick up things because I've already spent the money.  I'm so bad at finance.

Good point! I also saved some much time not browsing that opened the first draft of my newest novel this morning and making some progress. I suppose I should render something in the background.

Historically (and I mean the last 3 years I've been here), no wishlist and gift card sales are either guaranteed or announced beforehand, so I doubt anyone except for Daz will know the answer to that question, and they will share it with either the mods or general public until it's simply time for them to start.

Also "historically" (looking back at the past few months), catch up days seem to be common enough, especially on the weekends, but again, this is not a guarantee. I wouldn't plan that there might be one, but you can most certainly be hopeful :)

I also hope that the sale does not include the obligation to purchase new releases to activate the discounts.
